A Thing of Beauty

There are still four days left to register for my current blog candy.  You can check out the post with the goodies HERE.

Today I’m sharing a card made with a relatively new set from JustRite Stampers called Joyful Hearts.  I love it that all the sentiments are all so optimistic and the ovals are one of my favorite orientations.   I made a medallion using Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals LG – Die 2 on top of an oval that I hand traced to fit.  That pairing is layered on top of  Spellbinders™ Classic Ovals LG – Die 3  with my stamped JustRite Border and Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Ovals LG – Die 3.  The bottom layers is Spellbinders™ Labels Eleven – Die 4.  Everything is smudged with Antique Linen Distress Ink.

For the detail work I pulled my Martha Stewart Loopy Border Punch and punched two edges of my cardstock.  I took a silk embroidery ribbon and zigzagged through the loops up and back to create a lattice along the center of the card.  Each of three other edges are punched with a Martha Stewart Flourish Border Punch.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Stamps:  Joyful Hearts
Paper:  The  Paper Company, K & Co.
Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia, Antique Linen Distress Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders
Labels 13 – Die 4, SpellbindersClassic Scalloped Oval LG – Die 3, SpellbindersClassic Ovals LG – Die 2 & Die 3, Satin Ribbon, Silk Ribbon, Button, Martha Stewart Loopy Border Punch, Martha Stewart Flourish Border Punch, Pearls

Why is that springing forward is so hard for me?  I love the falling back but literally have to brace myself for springing forward.  Well the good thing is there is absolutely no doubt that spring is on the way!!  Thanks so much for stopping by.

Oh Becca this is beautiful. I guess you have to be quite gentle with the loops. I’m always amazed how you think out of the box. I can only get one foot out, but I’m working on it. TFS!ReplyCancel

Becca – this is stunning. I recently had my birthday (11th March) and my sister wanted to make me a card but didn’t know what to do – I asked her to come on to your blog and look at your cards for inspiration as I love everything you do. I told her she’d find the link in my right hand menu bar – where you are just so I can keep up with your stunning projects. Thank you for sharing your talent and beautiful hand crafted projects.

OH! I forgot to add to my post……I have another idea I would like to see for JRS…..

    1. Advent things to make a calendar with…you know like a circle with a advent image in the center ….am I making sense?

    2. 12 stamps to represent the months but the centers be a different animal or characture….not the number or the month name…that could be around the circle.ReplyCancel

Wow… only 4 days left and I didn’t get a notice until now! I do read your blog every time I get a notice of a new post, so I wonder why I didn’t get the initial notice about the new blog candy. I’ve re-checked all my e-mails and my junk folder, but your notices never go in my junk folder anyway, not to mention that I check it more than once a day! LOL!! So, anyway… I’ll head over to the right place and add a comment… but before I go, this card is so GORGEOUS!!!!!! I LOVE the ribbon lattice… I’ve been looking for that Martha Stewart loop punch set so hope one of my local stores gets it in… I have the double loop set so will have to see how that one would work and I think I have another one of her edge punches that looks similar to this loop one that might work. Thank you again for the wonderful inspiration!!!ReplyCancel
