A Gracious Woman

Hi there blog friends!  I have a new flower  and a card to share with you today using the sketch from Mojo Monday 185.  I totally agree with them that this sketch is an excellent way to jumpstart your mojo at the beginning of the week.   This weeks sketch is so sweet and I love it any time I can use a flower.  I’m using one of the new sets from Our Daily Bread Designs called Mothers Day.  The wonderful thing about the sentiments is that they can actually be used year round!

I mounted my flower on Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles, as the focal point.  The bottom is accented with an EK Success Border Punch and my sentiment is mounted in the top left corder with Spellbinders Grommet Tags, Spellbinders Nested Pennants and a small border from Spellbinders Banner Basics Two.  I was torn about what to do with the ribbon and settled on a messy gather rather than a bow :-)

After playing around with some brocade ribbon I had on hand to come up with my flower today. The center is made using the I-Top and is essentially a covered button. I want to try a couple more of these but look for a tutorial in the coming days!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Mothers Day
Paper: Coredinations Pearl
Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink
Accessories: Spellbinders Fleur de Lis Rectangles, Spellbinders Nested Pennants, Spellbinders Grommet Tags, Spellbinders Banner Basics Two, Silk Ribbon, Brocade Ribbon for handmande flower, I-Top for Brocade Button, EK Success Abstract Flower Border Punch, Pearls

For the Girls Paperie Blog Candy – only a day or two left.  You can get there through this link ——>>>>Blog Candy Post<<<<———

Thanks for stopping by. . . see you soon!!

Gorgeous card, Becca! I would love to see a tutorial of that ribbon flower since I like to make my flower/focal point embellishments, since I don’t have many, but have lots of craft stuff. I love that ribbon you used, it’s gorgeous, and as always, your choices of dies and border punches are perfect.

When I saw the “Mojo Monday” link on some other blog, I thought of you cause you had mentioned it lately, so I thought I would try it, too. I just made my first card with a “Mojo Monday” sketch, and I love how it turned out. Too bad I was 6 minutes late trying to link it up (and, it still takes me SOO long to get a blog post completed & published, since I’m rather green at it), fooey!ReplyCancel
