A Few of My Favorite (CHA) Things

Hi there blog friends! My, don’t I seem low key? Yes I do. Well, remember my technical mishaps of last week? Well I took the computer in day before yesterday and it’s not going to make it, so I’m looking for a new one. Also I hate to admit this, but my blog needs a tuneup too – I’m indeed having problems with the comments and help is nowhere in sight. People who have helped me in the past are unavailable so I’m looking into several options. I may be looking at a new theme. In the meantime, I would so appreciate if you could bear with me. No need to email me about comments, I know — believe me I know :-) In the interim, perhaps thoughts of all the wonderful things I saw at CHA to make me forget about technical things, right?!? No rhyme or reason here – just things I saw that I liked!  Above, I couldn’t resist but snap a pic of these Tim Holtz Tags – I think I have most of his sets and it’s probably about time I ink them up!!

Looks like more of those All Over the Page punches are coming.  You know I’m a punch-a-holic, right?

Shabby Chic goodness with October Afternoon.  Since there’s no more Girls Paperie – I’m looking for my shabby fix, lol!

I spent quite a bit of time in the Kaisercraft booth!!  OMGoodness, they have a Timeless Vintage Line coming to market that is a must have!!  There’s some of everything to love in this collection – roses, maps, time pieces patterns,  text print, butterflies, postage marks.  The seem to have noticed everything that’s trend and wrapped it up in one collection.  I know I’ll have to have this in 6 x 6 and 12 x 12.  What’s a paperaholic to do?

This is another of the Kaisercraft collections I’m in love with – Bonjour!! All I can say is, yes!

Thankfully someone puts out a traditional Christmas collection that hits home.  Yay, Kaisercraft, I have plenty of Christmas paper, but this one will be a staple in my collection this year.

Stopping by the Websters Pages booth I was delighted to see these little medallions (look like cameos).  There’s a name that’s escaping me but I love them!!  Oh, and look at the little cameos that are made to pop onto pins . . . love!

Over an hour at the Prima booth!  Sorry for the dearth of pictures there, but I’ll tell you their new Printery and Romantique paper lines are must haves!!  I snapped off this picture of some resin elements that I thought were charming.  Although I would probably keep mine white, they look fab painted as these shutters here show.

This is a sample made using the Romantique paper I was raving about.  Look at those sweet shutters.! There was so much at this booth that I simply had to grab a catalog so that I could remember it all.

I’ve never seen punches as huge as these at We’ R Memories.  The punches through flips of levers make full 12″ x 12″ pages like this.  Oh.my.word!

Sigh . . . at the Advantus booth I spied this little calendar and oh, joy I have most of these things.  Have to try this!

So what does it mean when you open the window on the way home and a rainbow is coming along too!!  Long week, long flight but a good end!!

If you see funny stuff on my blog, just chalk it up to me tinkering, but please keep on trying.  I’m stirring a lot of pots at once, but it will all iron out.  See you soon!!

My dear friend Joan from Joan’s Garden had her picture taken with you and she posted it on her blog. I’m so jealous. She is a dear friend. I’m so glad I found her and I can say you are a dear friend ciber friend, I wake up and after saying my good morning prayers, I go to my computer and look to see the post, you are one of the first I open every morning along with Joan’s and a few others. I would love to attend CHA. I just think of all the money I could save and spend on the craft items instead of airfaire, hotels and such. But one of these times I am going to splurge. How fun to see stuff first hand and all the demos of how to use them, WOW. I just ran across a new paper line of KaiserCraft – Miss Nelly Collection, and thought of you instantly. You should check it out if you haven’t already. It really looks like you.
I am so glad you had such a wonderful time, and thanks for sharing all the pics. Loved the calendar project from the Advantus booth, and hope you share that with us. Loved all the new Spellbinders, and really fell in love with all of the new Tim Holtz & Ranger products. Just so much to take in but fascinating and fun stuff to explore.

Thanks for sharing your impressions of CHA! Can’t wait for all the new goodies to come out!

And if you are looking to replace your computer, I highly suggest going to a Mac. I can’t believe I resisted so long. Especially if you love graphics, Macs are the way to go. Macs are becoming a huge share of the market, and there is more and more available for them, plus you can always run Windoze programs on them too with their dual-core processors. If you have a problem, you make an appt at the “Genius Bar” in a Mac store and they will get you up and running, but I am amazed at how trouble-free mine has been, and I use it all the time for all sorts of things. It took me ~ 2 weeks to get used to the Mac despite being a PC person since the 80s. The problem was that I was looking for a complex way to do things, and the Mac is so much easier! It becomes intuitive after a very short while, and if you always remember to right click, there’s not much you will have problems with. They usu. do a special before school starts- Macs are now >50% of the college market. You won’t find rock-bottom pricing on them like with PCs, but they have a longer life and better resale when you want to upgrade. And with less problems and downtime- you can just do your work/play and not fuss with hardware or software problems- they are worth every precious penny!ReplyCancel

What fun CHA seems to be and thank you so much for sharing your favourite bits with us. I’m chomping at the bit in anticipation of the new stuff being available in stores up here in the frozen north. Kidding. It’s Montreal and we’ve just had a tropical heat wave like everywhere else.
Sorry your tech predicament persists. I’ve been lucky with comments. They post easy-peasy (well almost) with both Explorer and Firefox and using a PC that dates back to, roughly the Carter administration. I like your website; everything about it is great. Style, colour, writer, artist, gorgeous cards and other delights, Becca Bits, and so on and so on. Whatever you decide on, Becca I know it will be top notch. Good luck.ReplyCancel
