Happy Monday, folks! I hope yours was a great weekend — for me it went by in the wink of an eye. I do have a card to share today. When I think of Penny Black stamps I think of the cute little girls that I’m so very fond of, but believe it or not, this sultry image, called Mixed Media, is a Penny Black stamp that was sent to me by Stamper’s Dream. I love the collage-y look of it and it made for easy stamping :-)

I used Graphic 45 paper (Le Romantique) on the top part of the card, and since I didn’t have a paper with the look I wanted to match, I made my own using a large background stamp. I simply washed some Vintage Photo Distress ink over a piece of watercolor paper for a background then stamped and embossed with my Impression Obsession Cover-A-Card Thick and Thin. After dry, I embossed the panel with white embossing powder then scrubbed on some chalk ink to discolor the white embossing powder and edged with Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink. The focal panel is embossed with clear embossing powder and the flowers watercolored with Tattered Rose Distress Ink. For the sentiment I simply used rub-off letters.
| Card Recipe: Stamps: Stamper’s Dream – Mixed Media by Penny Black, Stamper’s Dream – Cover-a-Card Thick & Thin by Impression Obsession Paper: Graphic 45 – Romantique, 140lb Strathmore Watercolor paper, Bazzill Ink: Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Brushed Corduroy Distress Ink, Versafine Onyx Black, Tattered Rose Distress Ink Accessories: Martha Stewart String Lace (Lattice) Border Punch, Martha Stewart Tag Punch, Ribbon, Lasting Impression Rub-ons, Buttons, Silk Ribbon, Pearls, Clear Embossing Powder |
That’s all folks! I ‘ll see you tomorrow!

Becca, do you do a lot of experimenting to discover these wonderful treatments or have you had some kind of training that allows the ideas to come to you? I think it’s fascinating that you embossed and then changed the color of the embossing…and what a beautiful outcome! Your layouts are always terrific. TFS

I don’t do dp much on my cards but do make my own with stamps (loving the looks w/so many I’ve seen in galleries, though). You’re idea of the white embossed and then inked is great. I will remember that tip. Another wonderful card!
