I don’t know about you, but when it comes time to make sympathy cards I find myself trying to walk a fine line between not too plain and not too frou frou. I always want my card to look serene and dignified but not overly done. So as I sat down with my new Our Daily Bread Designs set, With Deepest Sympathy, I wanted a monochromatic look in hopes it wouldn’t be busy at all.
I had been toying around with this new Spellbinders Poinsettia Border Grand and realized that the entire border, cut in half, would make an entire embossed background similar to Impressibilities but with dimension from lifting the partial cut out petals. It even left enough room for me to nestle the sentiment in the center on a Spellbinders Labels Four die cut. My card is just shy of 6" x 6" – which is a whole lot easier than me telling you it is 5 17/18" square :-}
Well, not much else to say as this really was a simple card. I’ve decided that the Poinsettia Border can essentially be used all year round, perhaps for other occasions like wedding because used like this, the flowers are a little more non-descript. I normally like to stencil with this template, but think this looks lovely plain with no stencilling.

As my namesake in Australia said : “I adore this card” ……”It really is special”. Perfect for a With Sympathy card but equally as lovely for a wedding, birthday, Christmas or a very special “Thank You” card. Truly a card for all seasons and all reasons.
You really are one hugely talented lady Becca. Thank you for the pleasure you bring so many of us.
