The Greatest Gift

Hello there!  There was no way that I would have let today go by without a post, after all, it’s the last day of 2009.  OMG where did it go?  Today I’m sharing one of the newest JustRite Stampers releases called Romantic Sentiments.  It features 1 5/8" sentiments that can be used with the Decorative 2" Round Wide Borders; I think they go together beautifully!   I made this for my sweet sweet guy and I don’t think I can wait for Valentines Day to give it to him (wink).

To frame the sentiment I decided to use Spellbinders™ Classic Heart #4 and #6.  I intertwined the two hearts by clipping through at the top part that I hid when I overlapped the two.  Then I treaded through a strip of paper punched with MS Traditional Eyelet Border Punch.   Then I created a medallion that begins at the bottom with Spellbinders™ Classic Scalloped Circles LG #3, Spellbinders™ Large Octagons #4 ( I used two of them and offset them so that the contract color peeks out) . . . I know, it’s just the little things.  I stamped my 2" border on the top octagon then continued with Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG #2 and Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM #2.  I stamped my sentiment on the last layer and secured them each using foam tape in between the layers.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Romantic Sentiments, JustRite Decorative 2" Round Wide Borders
Paper:  K & Co., Coredinations, The Paper Company
Ink:  Ancient Page – Cardinal
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Classic Heart, Spellbinders™ Classic Scalloped Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Large Octagons Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM, MS Tradiitonal Eyelet Border Punch, Ribbon

This year has been a good year for me sprinkled with a little bit of hard times, good friends, great surprises and a lot of love.  I can’t wait to jump into 2010 how about you?  I’m dying to know how you plan to ring in the new year tonight!

Becca, You do such beautiful work. This reminds me of something my grandmother would have around. The colors are great and the sort of Nostalgic look make it so romantic. Thanks for sharingReplyCancel

Becca, your work is always so inspiring! Sylvia is right, this is so nostalgic looking, very Victorian and so beautifully done. Your attention to the ‘small things’ is what stands you apart from the others…love it!ReplyCancel

    Becca,

    Ths is a beautiful card!

I plan to spend New Years right at home in front of the T.V. DH works in a restaurant and has go in very early in the morning, so he’s sleeping, and I let me daughter have a friend spend the night. So, it is me, two ten year old girls, and some family type movies.

I watched my granddaughter, she is 2 months old we did a lot of bonding. The first time I watched her she cried in my ear the whole time that I was with her. This time she actually had a few smiles for me. She has filled a void for us since I lost her uncle in 08. Enough or I’ll cry.

This card is beautiful Becca, the design is is very eye appealing. I think your bloggers are off to a wonderful year drooling over your work again in 2010. Happy New Year Becca, blessing to you and your family. TFS!!!ReplyCancel

Oh my goodness! This card is just sooo prettty. He is going to love it! We spent New Year’s Eve as we have for many years. We make a nice steak dinner together, sharing a glass of sparkling wine, then watch a movie we’ve rented. With our busy lives, it is so nice to end the year consciously spending time together. THAT is what’s important.ReplyCancel
