Thanks For Being You

Hey y’all!  I’m going to a stamp club meeting today but wanted to get a card posted before I go.  The inspiration was a piece of digital paper that I "had to have" and it matched perfectly with a new stamp that I have from Impression-Obsession called Arbor that I got from Stamper’s Dream.   To me the arbor is simply gorgeous and I envisioned it with roses and colored them so with my Tombow Markers.  And . . . you know how I gush about the artist Gary Robertson – well he did it again – all the hard work that is.  I think this took me about 35 minutes to color and I am soooooo slow – it was easy because the coloring is in little spots with hardly any shading – then of course the house is white so I pretty much left that as it was.

Earlier in the week I was playing around with more crepe paper and I ruffled a long length and glued it around a Spellbinders Oval.  The picture takes up most of the card but I added Spellbinders Fancy Tags on either side of the picture just to give it some ummph.  Across the card I tied a pink gingham bow and added two Spellbinders Double Ended Tags and some pearls.   My sentiment is a Lasting Impressions Rub on and it says Thanks for Being You.  You can never go wrong having a thank you card ready and at hand ;-)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Impression-Obsession from Stamper’s Dream – Arbor
Paper:  Bazzill, Design paper is digital by Digital Anemone
Ink:  Versafine Black Onyx  and clear embossing powder
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Petite Ovals LG, Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags, Spellbinders™ Double Ended Tags, crepe paper (Hobby Lobby), pearls, gingham ribbon, Tombow Markers.

Have a great day – I’m planning on blog candy for tomorrow or Monday, so put on your thinking caps – I’m gonna make you dig back in your memory ;-)

    Hi Becca~

I adore this card! THe background paper reminded me of possible wallpaper in the house, and the gingham reminded me of possible curtains used in the house. (Bringing the color of ourside into the house.)

You did a fantastic job coloring it all in, even if you did think it was easier than most. Great job. I am imagining this card with lots of flower soft used. Wouldn’t that give it another layer of softness, using your exact colors! Wonderful!

Did you get the ruffle of paper to stay put by sewing it?
    Glueing it?

Your card would be a blessing to anyone! Just like your blog candy is!

    He IS Able,
    Traci S.

p.s. Would you please email me a way I may contact you.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I was at a class yesterday taught by Terre (from Spellbinders) and if your ears were burning, it was my fault! ;-) I was sharing with the group some of your stunning, amazing, gorgeous uses of Spellbinders’ dies and we discussed your basket and mine. What a lovely lady Terre was and she shared that you are too (of course, I already knew that)! We learned a few new tricks and had a wonderful time!
This card is so gorgeous and you’ve inspired me to dig out an old stamp I’ve had for years, which is reminescent of this one! May just have to pick up some of that yummy digi paper to use too — thanks once again for all you share!!!ReplyCancel
