I Have Lots to Tell You!!! Starbook Tutorial

My word, I simply don’t know where to start – this is going to be a very long post, I hope you’ll hang out with me until I get to the end.   I feel like today is my birthday or anniversary — you get the idea, it’s a really special day.  Why you ask?  Well, I have much going on with the super teams that I work with, but I have an over the top, still can’t believe it, pinching myself, is this a dream kind of thing to tell you!  (Breathe)

I’ve been invited to be on the Spellbinders Blog Team!!!  I am so honored!!!  If there’s one thing that people know about me, it’s that I love, love, love my Spellbinders stuff.  In fact, I feel like my nesties are an extension of my hands.  I dream of what I can do with them.  When I’m driving down the road, I shuffle through the sizes in my head. . . it’s really quite an obsession.  I’m so tickled and blessed that I’ll be able to share more creations with you.  The four stars that I’ll be joining makes this adventure even more unbelievable and these ladies are simply the sweetest ever!   The other Blog Team members are Debbie Olsen, Michelle Wooderson, Trudee Sauer and another new addition, Keri Lee Sereika.  So to celebrate the day, I’ll be sharing a Spellbinders project with you and Spellbinders Blog Candy.  Before I get there though, let me tell you that I have another over the top, still can’t believe it, pinching myself, is this a dream kind of thing to tell you! (Breathe)

Jen del Muro with I{Heart}2Stamp contacted me some time ago and asked if I would be her Guest Designer!  Well, yeah!!  It took me like five seconds to email her back and tell her that.  I could have done it quicker but I had to pick myself up off of the floor.   Woohoo!!!  I’m the Guest Designer for November!!  So mosey on over when you get a chance and check the new sketch she posted today.  I’ll have samples over there for the entire month and look forward to working with her super, super Design Team.

Today is the new release of three new sets for Our Daily Bread Designs – the new releases are Joy to the World, Lord is My Shepherd and Psalm 23.  My Spellbinders project uses the new Psalm 23 stamp to make a quick and easy Star Book.  Pictures and full tutorial are below – click on any of the pictures and maximize in your browser to see larger versions of  the pictures.

Here is my supplies list with the tutorial following:

Ink:  Stazon Black

Step 4

Step 5

Step 6

Step 7

In the coming days, look for a pocket or box that I’m going to create to hold my little book!

Now, back to that Blog Candy…courtesy of my friend Keri, I’ll be offering a set of Star Nestabilities.  To be eligible to  win the set, all you need to do is leave a comment here on my blog telling me which of the newly released  Spellbinders is your #1 favorite!!  One comment per person please.  I’ll pick a winner by random.org on Wednesday, November 5th some time in the morning.  Remember to come back to check and see if you’ve won.  If no response by Friday, November 7th at 9am – then I’ll pick again.  Now here is the cool thing.  Keri is offering two sets of nesties over on her blog, Pink Lemonade .  When you’re done here, head on over to tell her congratulations and to sign up for her blog candy too!!

Keep an eye out for more blog candy here also in the not too distant future . . . my hit counter has been working overtime and is up over 500,000 page hits.  I can hardly believe it!!  I’ll hunt down some fabulous goodies to give, so check back with me.

Last, but certainly not least, there’s a lots going on over at Flourishes.  There are new faces on the Design Team and new faces added to the Friends of Flourishes as well as a new Guest Designer!!  I know!!  Today could not be busier if it tried, but it’s all good!!  Head on over to to Flourishes to check out the scoop!!

Don’t forget to stop by Our Daily Bread Designs and have a gander at those new sets!!

I told you this would be long!!  What a way to start the day!  I’m off to a stamp club meeting this morning, but don’t worry… if there’s anything else that’s an over the top, still can’t believe it, pinching myself, is this a dream kind of thing . . . I’ll rush right home to tell you!

I too, just recently subscribed to get your updates and have enjoyed seeing your creations. I love my nesties and like you seem to think about what to do with them in peculiar places….
Of the new sets, I have to say that the “pinking” ones are my favorite. They are similar to scallops, but just a little different that would make someone realize that “it’s new”.
Thanks for all the things you share and congrats on your new adventure!

I cannot imagine anything apart from the birth of a child to compare with the joy you must feel at being on the Spellbinders team. You deserve every accolade mentioned in the above posts. I’m so glad I have this rectangle set so I can get to work on this star card. I, like Joy, (one of the posts above) have to get my Spellbinders from the US. At the moment I don’t have squares as I reckoned I could cut a square but certainly couldn’t cut scallops! I just love Nestabilites and should I be so fortunate to win this blog candy I would be glad to pay for the international postage! At the moment I am awaiting for Labels 2 and I take advantage of Cut@Home’s great offer each month. They give such good service to those of us in the UK.ReplyCancel

My favourite Nestabilities are the circles, but Labels 1and Labels 2 are the next sets I shall buy.

Look forward to seeing more of your inspirational work in the coming weeks and months.

Wow, Becca, that book is outstanding! You do such great work, it’s no wonder Spellbinders asked you to be part of their team. They know great art when they see it! I have been a fan of your stuff for a while now, and I’m thrilled that I will be seeing more. As to my favourite Nesties products, I love the Labels 1 and Labels 2, and then some Piercabilities are next on the wish list. The most difficult thing for me is pacing myself because the budget isn’t as big as the wish list!ReplyCancel

Woo Becca! A very creative lady is getting much deserved rewards! I know you must be busting at the seams! I can’t wait to see what you come up with for spellbinders. How did we ever cut anything without them? My latest faves are the long rectangles. They are so great for sentiments. I am have my sights on the new nested label sets. Maybe you can give the the hint to make nested shapes for the small labels so our sentiments can have borders around them. Congrats again Becca, if I was where you are I would bake you a cake!ReplyCancel

Congratulations on being selected. I am always amazed by your creations and how you can take a product to places that no one else has thought of. I have been telling my fellow crafters that there is no better sales pitch than to show the creations that you make and how many uses for these products there really are. Nestabilities are way at the top of my list of favorites. That’s about all I have on my Christmas list this year. My favorite new one would have to be the labels. Sorry, not sure if it’s one or two – they don’t even sell them around here. I just see all the beautiful items that people are making with them and wish that I could have them too. The long scalloped rectangles are my next fav – love all the cool things that you can make with those also.ReplyCancel

I stumbled upon your website by chance one day as I was reading another blog. I clicked into it because of its title… “Amazing Paper Grace” and found it to be soooo inspirational and truly Amazing that I bookmarked it. I was so new to the blogging arena that I had no idea that I could subscribe and have it emailed directly to my in-box. Once I became aware, I subscribed. I was soooo proud of you when I read your good news of being added to the Spellbinder’s Team. You are so talented and have really earned your spot among the great crafters of today. I look forward to your inspirational work each day and, like you, I didn’t get anything done on the 4th because I was glued to the TV. As a matter of fact, I am still in front of the TV watching a repeat of President-Elect Obama’s speech and it is now 2:18 a. m. here in Lithonia, GA. I made a point of recording much of the election results because it is truly History in the making… something I want to be able to share with my grandchildren (if my children ever decide to have children) so that they too can say “Yes we can”.

My post has gotten so long winded so I once again want to say “Congratulations and continue to bless us daily because you are truly Amazing.ReplyCancel

Congratulations!!!! I can’t think of a more deserving choice to add to their team. Way to go!!!

One set??? I can’t pick just one set. The best I can do is narrow it down to two: Labels One and Curved Rectangles. All the new sets are very inspiring. Now if I only had enough hours in the day to play.

As always, thanks so much for the fabulous inspiration.

Beautiful Book. I love the scallops. I have made star books before, but never with the scallops.

My favorite new nest are the large pinking circle. I can see it used for sooooo many layouts. I’ve already put that one on my Christmas wish list along with some others.

Keep up the fantastic work. You are such a great inspiration.

Becca, I love all your creations. You are an inspiration to all of us. The circle punched card is just beautiful. I’m asking Santa for the nestabilities so I can try making a card like the one you have posted. It looks easy but like anything, you need to make some before perfecting it, at least that’s how it is for me. You are a blessing!
