Splendid Silent Sun

I know for some of you the seasons careened directly from summer, into an early snow or winter.  We can only dream about fall, right?  I’m sharing a card today that is all about fall.  The Created by Hand Tuesday Challenge this week is to create something related to Harvest, so I picked this new sentiment from Quietfire Design called Give me the Splendid Silent Sun and sat down to work.  How uplifting, it makes me sigh and think of the majesty of fall!

First of all, I pulled out my Copic Airbrush System.  After I use it, I wonder why I haven’t used it in so long, lol!  It took me a quick second to get warmed up and spray around the edges of my Spellbinders Labels Eight with two shades of Copic markers (yikes I didn’t write them down, I was so absorbed in the process).  My goal was to give a little glow like . . . you know, the splendid silent sun :D.  I also cut the Spellbinders on the Vine Border Grand from Pergamano parchment then distressed it with dye inks including Vintage Photo Distress Ink and Adirondack Oregano Dye Ink.  You’ll ask what the Pergamano parchment is – it’s a full bodied translucent paper that looks like vellum – it stands up to embossing very well and takes on die based inks like a dream.  I simply smudged the dye ink on the top and it was absorbed into the paper.  For the green part of the vine I wanted a darker shade so I smudged on both the front and back of the die cut.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire – Give Me the Splendid Sun
Paper:  Strathmore 140lb Watercolr Paper, K&Co, Pergamano Parchment
Ink:  Colorbox Pigment Ink – Rousillion, Clear Embossing Powder, Vintage Photo Distress Ink, Adirondack Oregano, Assorted Dye Based Inks
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders on the Vine Border Grand, Ribbon, Buttons

Don’t forget, If you want to submit art for the Created by Hand Challenge, pop over, leave a comment and a link back to your work showing with a Harvest theme.  In the meantime . . .

Have a great day and remember to go where your heart goes!
