Stay Tuned

by on April 7, 2008

Just a small post to let you all know that I am celebrating today.  After having a backlog of more than 700 posts to read in my RSS Reader, I got caught up today!!  That might be the reason you have not seen me posting cards.   I also got the chance to do a little blog beautification – like adding a seach box and economizing some stuff on my sidebars.  I know, TMI…..time to stop running around in circles :96

…..I’ll be back with cards soon.

And the Envelope Pul-lease…I’ve won an Award!

by on April 6, 2008

I am quite the remedial blogger – there’s stuff I’m still learning.  I recently won some awards (yes, I wasn’t quite sure they meant me because I am such a new blogger) so today I sat down to figure it all out.  What’s there to figure out?  Well, I wanted to make sure to link to and properly thank the wonderful people who thought highly enough of me to tag me for the award and to make sure I followed the rules.    I am so sorry I procrastinated on this, but I have it all figured out now and I am so thankful for all the acknowledgements.

First of all, let me say I am so very blessed!  This blogging endeavor has been a miracle in my life, it has brought me closer to my steady, loyal friends and has opened the door to scores more.   I am truly amazed at the friendliness and good will of bloggers and readers alike with a never ending supply of kind words and awesome encouragement.   Here are the awards:

A hearfelt thanks to Allison at Stamping When I Can for awarding me with her Rockin’ Bloggers award.

Hugs to Pearl at Pearl’s Paperfections for awarding me with the You Make My Day Award.   Pearl, well, you made my day!

:63

Similarly, a warm hug to Nancy Ward at Paper Friendly for generously showering me with the Kind Heart Award.

You rock Nancy!  :50

Last but certainly not least, a couple of amazing bloggers gave me a super award., how cool is that!  Stephanie at Ingenious Inkling, Pearl at Pearls Paperfections and Meredith at Merry Musings gave me the Arte y Pico Award.  Can I just say that I am speechless!!  Thank you so much, this has given me such inspiration, again I so appreciate these blessings.

Here is how the Arte y Pico award came about:

1. You pick five blogs that you consider deserve this award for their creativity, design, interesting material, and also contribute to the blogging community, no matter what language.

2. List the names of the people you chose to receive the award on your blog and link to their blogs. Then go comment on one of their posts to notify them that you have given them this award and link to the post on your blog.

3. Each award winner has to show the award and put the name of the person who gave them the award and link to their blog.

4. The Award-winner and the one who has given the award have to show the link to the Arte y Pico blog, so everyone will know the origin of this award (it’s in Spanish).

I’ll be tagging some folks soon, so stay tuned!

Just Living is Not Enough

by on April 4, 2008

How true is that!  This little butterfly has inhabited my stash for some time and I’ll apologize ahead of time that I don’t know which company offers this unmounted.  Please, please if you know – email me so that I can give them proper credit.   He-he I have quite a few stamps from this company, that I picked up at a Stamp Convention several years ago and I know the name is written somewhere in my studio….I’ll keep trying to find it too.

This design is likely to have either a flower or a strip of design paper added somewhere, perhaps, before sending it out.  I really tried to load it up and my Cuttlebug was hungry for the background, but I resisted.   The butterfly was colored with Copics on Fabriano Watercolor paper…. no, I didn’t plan that in advance, but it ended up being very interesting how the paper took the color and how it moved around on the paper.

The wings are embellished with a Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pen and it sparkles in real life, but tricky to catch with the camera.  Lastly, the piercing pattern is an Ornare template – tons of fun and simple to do.   Have a blessed day.

Supplies:
Paper:  Bazzill, Fabriano Acquarello
Ink:  Stazon Black
Ribbon:  Michaels
Accessories:  Button – Heidi Grace, Nestabilities, Ornare Template, Copics
