Our Daily Bread 2nd Anniversary Blog Hop

If you arrived here from Julie Warner’s Blog then you are in the right place.  If not, please make your way back to the ODBD Blog for the entire list of hoppers in the correct order.   Today is very special day for all of us on the Our Daily Bread Designs Design Team.  My card today is a scripture that I picked out some months ago.  It came to me after a very difficult time in my life when John and I were in San Antonio, Texas and he was getting a Bone Marrow Transplant.  He is doing better now, but those were surely dark days.  When Kelley asked me my choice in scripture this one sprang from my lips.   When you read it word for word, perhaps you’ll understand.  Now before I blah, blah, blah more, please read what’s in store for you today on this hop.  I’ll be sure to recap all the particulars for my card at the end of my post.

Today, Kelley is releasing four new and truly wonderful Special Edition sets – you can see them all here!  They are near and dear to our hearts, because each of us on the Design Team submitted one of our favorite verses that we would like to put on a card, and those Scripture Verses are two of the sets being released today.   If that wasn’t exciting enough… she also created two sets of gorgeous borders that fit the Scriptures!   If you want that special touch to present your sentiments in . . . these frames are it!

Today’s Blog Hop is special event because it allows each of the Design Team members to make the first card with their own favorite Scripture! We hope you will truly enjoy the hop . . . and of course it wouldn’t be a Blog Hop without prizes!  Today, Kelley is going to give 3 prizes of your choice of one of these new Anniversary sets!  Here is what you have to do to qualify for the prizes:

  • Hop from first to last, and collect the secret LETTER each designer will have.
  • Leave a comment for the designer on their blog.
  • Return here to the ODBD blog, leaving a comment to tell us that you visited all the blogs.
  • Email gnywening@yahoo.com, giving me the secret message the letters spell.

You have until 8:00 PM EST on Mar 18th to complete the hop and email the message to Grace.

If you cannot get on one blog, simply write that designer’s name down and go to the next one (you can follow the link from here). Usually if you have trouble, waiting a few minutes and trying again will resolve it.

Okay, now that you know all the particulars I need to give you a special letter.
The letter that you get from me today is:  "N"
Your next stop on the blog hop is with Dawn Lusk .

Now on to specifics on my card . . . I wanted another gold card and nothing is more elegant than gold and white!  My scripture is on the Scripture Collection 4 set and I wanted to mention that all the sets today work very nicely with Spellbinders Rectanges, Squares and Long Rectangles sets – that Kelley is so clever *wink*.  To start out I created a medallion by stamping the Ironworks Border four times to make it a symmetrical star like element then cut it out with Spellbinders™ Large Octagons.  I then bordered each side of the Octagon with Spellbinders™ Renaissance Hearts.  The border around the edge of the card is Spellbinders™ Lattice Borderabilities and I used the other part of that set to decorate the four corners of the card.  I finished off with my scripture mounted on Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags.  They had to pry the pearls out of my hands to make me stop on this one (sigh) . . .

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Special Anniversary Scripture Collection 4, Ironworks Borders
Paper: Bazzill, Gold Foil
Ink: Versamark and Gold Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Renaissance Hearts Pendants, Spellbinders™ Lattice Borderabilities, Spellbinders™ Large Octagons, Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags, Pearls, Ribbon

Just one more piece of information . . .  All week since Sat. the 13th, we have been celebrating with daily challenges, blog candy and lots of fun.  Many of our team members have offered up blog candy to help celebrate this special occasion.  If you played along, be sure to check their previous posts to see if you won . . . and if you miss that . . . on Mar. 19th all the winners names will be posted on the ODBD Blog!

P.S.  I still have blog candy going on you can enter until Thursday night at midnight HERE.

Leave it to you to take a border stamp that is beautiful on its own, but you multi-stamp it to build it into a completely different element.
