Let It Snow JustRite

Happy Monday friends!  It will be a busy week with sporadic posting from me but I wanted to share a JustRite card with you this morning.   I picked some wintry, cool colors, snow flakes and lots of framing to showcase another of the adorable JustRite Christmas sets, this one is called Christmas Joy Borders and Centers Oval Set

I started out by cutting Spellbinders Labels Eight and cut two additional dies from white to use as a tiny layer – they are the same size as my blue Labels Eight panel however they are offset a little bit so that you can see the white.  On top of that I layered the Spellbinders Snowflake Frameabilities with the small frame from Spellbinders Poinsettia Frameabilities centered on top of that layer.    That gives me a good area to  put my JustRite layers which are cut using Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large.   A cinched bow topped with K&Co Snowflakes and pearls finishes it all.   Rare for me, but I decorated the inside as well :)

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  JustRite Christmas Joy Borders and Centers Oval Set
Paper:  Little Yellow Bicycle, Heidi Grace, The Paper Company, Bazzill
Ink:  SU Bordering Blue
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Eight, Spellbinders Poinsettia Frameabilities, Spellbinders Snowflake Frameabilties, Spellbinders Classic Ovals Large, Ribbon, K&Co Snowflake embellishments, pearls

JustRite Tip:  Not sure where to start?  This week I’ve received several emails asking advice on what sets to start with for JustRite.  There are so many good sets, it just depends on what you like to stamp and my feeling is that you are always safe to start with Monograms.  Be sure to check out THIS guide on the JustRite Stampers site that addresses where to get started and how to build a basic set of JustRite stamps.

Spellbinders Tip:  Several of you have emailed me about tips and techniques for cutting with Spellbinders.   Pendant dies are quite intricate and I’ve found it helpful to rub the die template with wax paper before cutting – it helps the die pop out.  Someone recently said to cut the wax paper and leave it in place so that you have a waxy base on your die – the paper is so thin that it’s no problem.  With different conditions like humidity and paper thickness, if you find that your intricate die did not cut on the first pass, rotate the die 90 degrees and run through your die cut machine again.  As these become mainstay tools I’m amazed at the tips that other Spellbinder users are coming up with – be sure you check out the Spellbinders Blog and search threads on Splitcoaststampers.

This is gorgeous. I love all the details you put into your cards. The colours on this are so soft and elegant – I love blue and white together. The way you can layer all the different shapes and sizes of dies continues to amaze me – I’m always gathering insight from you. I also love the way you finished the inside of the card. This is something I’ve been trying to remember to do for the past few months now. I love the way it ties it all together.ReplyCancel
