John

Hi everyone. I am Kelly Vaughn, Becca’s best friend. I wanted to let you all know that John passed away late last night.  He went peacefully into the presence of his Lord while surrounded by his loving family.  As you all know, Becca will submerge herself in her creativity and work through her grief.  I am sure she will continue posting her work here on the blog from time to time but probably will not be very talkative for a while.  Please be patient with her and encourage her as she and her family walk through this very difficult time.

You may leave words of support for John’s family here on the blog or you may send cards to the following address:

Becca Feeken c/o Kelly Vaughn
900 Pinehurst Circle, Apartment 907
Panama City Beach, Florida     32407

If you have any questions about  please email me at  justkelly@comcast.net

God bless you, Kelly

I’m sorry to hear of your loss. No matter how much we are expecting it, when it happens our hearts break. For John, you and I know he is now free and is no longer sick. He is dancing in heaven with his Father. Praise God for that promise to all of us. To you and to all that are left behind, it is okay to grieve, to hurt, to be angry, to be sad! All of it is okay and does not take away from knowing that John truly is in a better place. God made us human and we have pain, anger and all the other emotions. So, let go and grieve knowing all of us care about what is happening in your life. You inspire us with more than just your art, you inspire us with your Christian walk and your courage. God bless you and I do hope you feel the presence of our Lord holding on to you when you can’t walk by yourself. We care!!!!!!

But I know how much you and your family will miss him and I just pray God will wrap His loving arms around you and comfort you as only He can do! I don’t know the author of the poem below. I give this to you, as you have given me much in sharing your creativity, and hope it may ease some pain.

    Love lives on forever
    In each memory
    and thought
    Of the special ones
    Who meant so much
    And the happiness
    They brought.

    Loves lives on forever –
    It will never fade away—
    For, in our hearts,
    Our loved ones
    Are with us every day.ReplyCancel

Kelly, thanks for letting us know.

Becca, I have not commented in a while, and have not visited in several weeks (my own life stuff) but you have always been an inspiration to me with your amazing talent, and soft, sweet way about you.

My heart is so very heavy for you. Mere words are nothing in a time like this but please know that you and your family are in the minds and hearts of so many.

I am not a faithful christian anymore and so struggle with my path. So I can not say anything about heaven or God. But I am directing positive, comforting and healing energy to you and your family, and John’s family.

Nothing will replace him, but you and all that knew and loved him, WILL forever hold him in your hearts.

Love and memories will keep him alive in your hearts.

Many blessings and long gentle hugs,
    SusanReplyCancel

May the Lord be your strength during this difficult time. No matter how prepared we may feel we are, the loss of a loved one leaves a big empty place in our hearts and our lives. What a comfort to know that he is with the Lord, and he is rejoicing and singing praises in His Presence. That has to bring comfort. May the love of your family, friends and online community surround you and bring you comfort now and in the coming days.

Even though it may be hard for us to put this into words, it’s even more difficult for you and your family as you try to put one foot in front of the other, and work through the challenges in all areas that will be at hand. God will give you the strength to continue to put one foot in front of the other, and when it feels like you can’t do it some days and that He is not there, that’s when He is there the most. Take time Becca, take all the time you need. And because she walks in faith I know the Lord will sustain and help her in her grief she must endure. Like all things time helps but faith is the greatest help of all. I wish I had the faith and devotion she constantly shows us in her daily work and words.

    Becca:

I am so sorry to hear about your loss of your friend, your lover, your husband and father of your children. We know that our loving God makes no mistakes. We just are never prepared for the homegoing of our loved ones. Please know that John is resting in the arms of the Lord. No more pain, no more suffering. Weep if you must, but know that you will see him again. Weeping only last for a night and Joy will come in the morning. God promised never to leave us comfortless. Rest in and on his promises. We, your blog family are praying for you and with you. Remember the good times when the going gets tough. Talk to your children about what a wonderful father God had blessed them with. God’s mercy and grace will make it easy – in time.
    We love you Becca!

Becca, This is such a hard time for you and your family. However, it is your time and none of us expect a thing from you since you have given all of us such inspiration for years now. Take care of your needs now. We are all praying hard for you and your family.

I just want to thank you for all the peace you have given me over the last 3 years. I have copied so many of your designs and sent them to my mother while she was in a memory care unit with Alzheimer’s in Houston, TX. She did not remember me but she did recognize the cards and could put me with them. Mother passed in April of this year and it was not a sad day but a joyful one because we know she is in heaven…with her cards! We buried her with all of them. Thanks for the peace you gave to my family! God BLESS You!ReplyCancel

Kelly, thank you so much for advising everyone of the passing of Beeca’s husband.

Beeca, looking at your cards every day, I know that your faith in God is strong! I am so sorry to hear that your husband passed away. At a time like this, there is “no” words that can heal your broken heart, mind or soul, but know the I am praying for you and your family and I know that God will be with you every step of the way. I am a PK (Preachers Kid), and I know the Lord will help heal you broken heart.

Precious Father in Heaven, please let it be your will to send your angel of healing to Beeca and her family. Please Lord, wrap your loving arms around Beeca and let her know that You are with her and beside her. Please Father, give Beeca the strength and hope to carry on. In Jesus name, I pray…..Amen!

Amazing grace, sound sweet the sound that saved wretch like me.
I once was lost but now am found, Was blind, but now I see.

T’was Grace that taught my heart to fear. And Grace, my fears relieved.
How precious did that Grace appear The hour I first believed.

    Through many dangers, toils and snares I have already come;
‘Tis Grace that brought me safe thus far and Grace will lead me home.ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,

I was devastated to read about your John. My heart is full of tears and sadness for you.

Thank you Becca for realizing that your cyber friends have been very concerned about you and John, and for having Kelly gently share the sad news.

Hopefully when you are ready to read your blog comments, our condolences bring you some comfort just knowing how much people love and appreciate you. Even though we don’t really know each other, in some way you are a part of our lives. When you shared John with us, we just knew that he was a Very Special Man!

I am joyful to hear that John loved the Lord and that he is with Him now. This year I also lost a man named John (my ex-husband, my good friend). He also is with our Lord.

Someday Becca, your tears will be tears of joy and not of anguish, as you remember your life with John. Until then, may God wrap His arms around you so that you feel His Peace and His Love.

There is a peace that surpasses all else when you focus on eternity, knowing that someday you will meet John again. Together you will bring glory to God and live Forever with Him.

Praying for you and your family,

I am very sorry for your loss Becca, but as a Child of God, you should know that John will now be with Him, and will wait for you to join him in heaven someday. It might not be easy at first, but we will all have you and the family in our prayers, and the Lord will give you all the strength you need to understand that this separation is only temporary, and that you still have a mission here to accomplish.

Take care and come back when you feel emotionally strong….we will all be here, waiting on your extraordinary creativity.ReplyCancel

    Becca and Family~
I wasn’t on the computer today as I headed for town to pick up some photos I had ordered and then headed outside to do some yard work after some high winds the other day. It was this evening that my sister called and asked if I have been online. She told me the news about John and I was speechless. That doesn’t happen much with me and it takes news like this to remind me what I have. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers during this most difficult time. I don’t post often when seeing your amazing creations but had to post this to you this evening. Stay strong. JackieReplyCancel

Oh Becca, my heart is full of love for you and your sweet family and tears can not be contained. Unfortunately, I know the pain you are feeling. I lost my John, 7 yrs ago. It is a bittersweet time – while you wouldn’t want him to feel another moment’s pain on this earth, you would give all for just another moment with him. To be absent from you is to be in the presence of God.

God has pursued you all of your life and you are His. Run to Him, He is waiting to listen as you pour out your heart to the only one who can comfort you. I know at this time, no words can diminish your loss. But in the days to come in the quiet of your room, the love and prayers flooding your blog will be a blessing to you. Your faith will carry you through sweet girl. We will stand in the gap for you and keep you uplifted.

Dear Jesus, we come to you now praising your Holy name. You have told us you will never forsake us. We come to you now to lift up our dear friend Becca and her family. You have rejoiced at the coming home of John and we thank you for the promise of you.
We ask now for your Holy guidance and ask that our fervent prayers be answered on behalf of Becca now in her time of need. Cradle her when we can’t be there, hear our pleas for her oh God, our Father.
Thank you for Christian friends and prayer warriors. All these things we ask in the precious name of Jesus. AmenReplyCancel

I’m so saddened at this news. Thanks Kelly for letting us know.

Becca, I’m so sorry for your loss. May God provide you with strength, love and comfort through this difficult time. Take comfort knowing that John is now in the loving embrace of God and is at peace.

At these sad times, I always think of the story of the ship leaving our shore carrying our loved ones away, as we wave our goodbyes and the ship disappears into the horizon, we no longer see them and we’re sad for a while, but on a beautiful shore across the water, other friends and family members wave an excited happy hello to welcome them home.
We will only be apart for a short time, until we take the next ship across that stretch of water, to be reunited once more.

Becca take all the time you need, we’ll be here, when you’re ready once again to share your wonderful gift of creativity.

You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers.

    God bless you all.

    Dear Becca
I am deeply sorry to hear of your dear husbands death and I know your faith will see you through this difficult time right now. I do know how you feel as we just lost mom over a month ago. This isn’t something you can just ‘pull yourself together and get over’ – I am learning it takes time as I’m sure you will. Faith does carry you but there is still a season for grieving so don’t be hard on yourself to rush back to anything. Take time to grieve and do what you feel you can when you can. This I have learnt from experience too. I know you were his care giver so you will be comforted to know he is home with the Lord in a new, healed, pain free heavenly body. We had this comfort too (mom had leukeamia 20+ yrs and was a Christian all her life). Please know I pray a heartfelt prayer for you and your family along with the many others out there too. You are so loved and admired by so many. Come back to us when you’re ready – we’ll be only too pleased to welcome you with open arms and lots of blog love.ReplyCancel

Becca, my heart aches for your loss, and I had to write and express my caring to you. I’ve been reading your blog for about a year, and have been so uplifted by your testimony and your love for Christ radiates in all that you do. I have to say that the love you have expressed for your husband, John also was so very evident, and I was very impressed with your care for him all of the time, especially while he was ill.

You have touched so many lives through your blog, and although most of us have never met you, you have touched all of our hearts, and we are all grieving for you today. Know that you will be covered in prayer as you walk through this valley. I’m so grateful to your best friend for leaving us this note so that we can all express our condolences. How wonderful to know that your husband is with his Savior, that is a great comfort, but it doesn’t of course take away the horrible sting of this loss, this separation from your beloved John.

You and your family will be in my thoughts and most definitely my prayers in the coming days, weeks, and months.

    In Christian love,

    JoanneReplyCancel

Becca – my heart goes out to you at this time. As I kneel to pray I will keep you in my thoughts and heart as I potitions the Lord to send comfort and peace your way. Each loss I hear of brings to mind the approaching anniversary of the loss of my sister last New Years Eve. It is bitter sweet as her suffering ended — ours began. Yet, faith in a loving Father in Heaven and in the Savior teaches me that it is only for a short time. We will be reunited. I believe that and I hope in time you will come to feel that peace as well. Her husband had only been diagnosed with cancer for several months and she has two young boys. She might be someone who you might be inspired to talk to her. Oh,Becca-I was so very sadden to hear of your loss. I remember one of your posts a few years back. It was your birthday and your wonderful John had taken you to Michaels to buy some of the new Martha Stewart edge punches that had just come out. I thought-what a wonderful and loving husband to this for his wife. I am so sad for your loss. Knowing he is with the Lord cannot ease that pain. But I do hope that you know how may of us out here in your cyberfamily love you and your family. And we thank you for sharing your loving husband with us thru these past years.

Hi Becca, I’m late receiving this news as we have been dealing with the 5-year anniversary of our son’s death and I’ve not been on the computer much.

My heart aches for you, dear, and even though I know you only from your blog, you responded to me once when I mentioned our son had died, and I know you are a special lady.

Please know I’m praying for you, and will continue. Grief is a long process, but you have good friends to stick by you and let you feel what you feel when you feel it.

I am lifting you to the throne.

    Never again will they hunger
    Never again will they thirst
The sun will not beat upon them,
    Nor any scorching heat.
For the Lamb at the centre of the throne will be their shepherd:
He will lead them to springs of living water.
And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes.

Becca, may you feel the grace of our Lord surround you as you mourn the loss of your husband.
