I am Renewed Again…

I know, I know….there’s no doubt you are going to say that this is unusual…it is, but I decided to post it anyway.  You see, what happened is I got busy and didn’t have anything else to post.  Last week while cleaning I came across this image sandwiched in one of my old magazines…it was apparent that I had had to put it away quickly…..about ten years ago.   I figured it’s about time then, this made it onto a card.  When I did color this, I used watercolors and watercolor pencils.  The frame and the chair are popped up slightly to give the image dimension.   When I came across this vellum in my stash, the blue and the green reminded me of sea glass, the colors are so soothing.  It was a bonus that I had this ribbon to match.

This was one of my first stamps and I still have this and about several other D. Morgan stamps from Stamps Happen.  The image is huge.  I whittled the borders down to about 5½. inches across to get it down to card size.  With an image so large, it’s hard to see anything else so I concocted this tank top kind of header so that some of the vellum pattern could show.  The tank top actually came in handy because it helps to hold the vellum in place.  The vellum is sandwiched between the front of the card and the separate back of the card and then held in place by the ribbon.  Confusing?

Ok, I admit it, I am a little confused, but that’s ok. I also think its very pretty. I almost purchased this stamp before, but wasn’t sure I would have ideas for its use. Such an elegant image, I love the way you watercolored it. Thanks again for sharing it with us, and I’m sorry to hear about your punch. I know I would be heart broken, love those punches.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca:

I have several large stamps like the one on this card, but never am I satisfied how they turn out. They look “flat” — but this card is gorgeous. Could you do it again in a tutorial with step-by-step pictures. I would love to see what I can do with my large stamps that are just sitting around taking up room because I don’t use them.

    Thanks bunches,
    Debi – Rittman, OHReplyCancel

I also love the scripture stamps images that you use on other cards, and wish it was easier to find them, I love stamp happens stamps and their beach stamps always scream at me to buy them, however mine cards are never as inviting as this one is… you have aced it with this card, so serene , so calming, so relaxed, this card screams AHHHHHH, and you can almost hear the waves and smell the salt air… wonderful once again.
