Hope Your Wishes Come True

I have a sweet, tiny little friend that hasn’t reached the age of 6 yet, that I’m sending this card out to.  She has been on my mind enough to prompt me to dig back in the archives so to speak for this retired Penny Black stamp.  Now don’t go getting mad at me, I know this one is no longer available, but I have a stash of them that I simply cannot part with and every once in a great while I have an occasion like this to color one up.

She is colored with Copics with a very light touch and the beauty of Penny Black stamps is that if you are in a hurry, you can pretty much use the colored index on the stamp as a guide and come up with a reasonable piece of stamping.  You can see the colored index on several of the mounts here.  If you are trying to build your confidence using Copics, I consider this an excellent way to get started.  Also, I got my first shipment of Prism Smooth White Cardstock and I kid you not, it is a night and day difference when you are coloring with the right paper – this is another confidence booster.  After you touch this paper you won’t try to make due with regular cardstock with Copics ever again.  I have filled in my Copic collection a bit and have some good groupings to work with and gone is the frustration of trying to make distant colors work.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Penny Black Retired, Sentiment – Printworks
Paper:  140lb Stratmore Watercolor, Making Memories Chloe’s Closet,
Prism Smooth White Cardstock
Ink:  Memento Rose Bud

Accessories:  Spellbinders Classic Scallop Circle Large, Spellbinder Long Scallop Rectangles Large, Ribbon, Making Memories Tab Clip, Pearls, Copic Markers

Many of you emailed me to assist you in finding the stamp with the outhouses that I used on my last card – you can find that stamp HERE.

Be sure you take care as you start another glorious week!

    Hi Becca,

Everyone has a guilty pleasure and using and posting retired stamps seem to be universal so no worries. We’ve all been there. After all blogging is mostly about sharing what we love :D Good of you to warn you readers though that this might not be “gettable”.

Thanks to for the tip on where to get the outhouse stamp. I should have guessed it was an Impression Obsession just from the style (can’t remember if you said though I bet you did – LoL).

Hugs and blessings and thanks for sharing the tips and creativity – JeanReplyCancel
