Grow in Grace

Thank you so much for the kind, kind comments you left on my post about Spellbinders Sneak Peek Blog Frenzy!!  The ornament boxes were fun, fun, fun to make!!  I’ve had quite a few inquiries about where to get the template.  I created the box from scratch and don’t have formal template to send out right now.  After I return from CHA, I’ll have a video or step by step tutorial on how to make it.  In the mean time, I have cards to share.

This set is precious!! One of the July releases with Our Daily Bread Designs is a set called Grow in Grace.  I just love the sentiments in this set and opted to use two of the sentiments on one card – I’d say they go together great!!  I sure don’t know how it happened, but this Antique Book Plate 2 has to be one of my very favorite Spellbinders die templates.  As you can see it is perfect for a sentiment.

I have recently discovered the pleasure of stenciling these templates with chalk ink.  Not sure what took me so long to get there but I had been stenciling with a brush and dye based ink.  With the chalk ink, I use a piece of sponge and the ink  is nearly opaque.  It goes on very smooth and covers the area very quickly.  I love the crisp solid look.  In wider open areas where there is the opportunity to shade, I think I’ll stick to the dye based ink but for these little areas I think I’ve found a match!

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Grow in Grace
Paper:  Making Memories Vintage Findings,  The Paper Company – Blonde Columns, Bazzill
Ink:  Onyx Black Versafine, Blue Chalk Ink
Accessories:  Spellbinders Antique Book Plate 2, Ribbon, Pearls

Here is another of the Our Daily Bread Designs releases from July.  I love the background stamp with the music from Amazing Grace.  I paired it with a sentiment stamp from Grow in Grace.   For an accent on the card I created a flower using layers from different Spellbinders templates – Flower Creations (eight Petal and large five petal), Sunflower Set One and Sunflower Set Two.  The sentiment is stamped on Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Amazing Grace Hymn, Grow in Grace
Paper:  SEI Windsor, The Paper Company – Khaki, Burgundy
Ink:  Versafine Vintage Sepia, Versafine Black Onyx
Accessories:  Spellbinders Flower Creations, Spellbinders Sunflower Set One, Spellbinders Sunflower Set Two, Spellbinders Ribbon Tags Trio, Ribbon, Pearl brad

Thanks friends!!  See ya soon I hope!

Wow! You are soooo creative with your card making and they’re all just so beautiful.

I love how you use Spellbinders dies – you make me want every single one you use and I’ve only recently started collecting.

Thank you so much too for crafting your faith and showing just how lovely scripture cards can be. We need more of this in the world.

Beautiful cards both of them. The one with the flower looks like a beautiful vintage card that some one kept in there treasure chest and they bring it out to admire every once in a while. TFS!!!ReplyCancel

Oh Becca these are so gorgeous they give me goosebumps!!
Your faith shines through in everything you do.
I think you will have to do two tutorials though – one for the boxes and one for the flower. Please. (Er – you do know you have made me fanatical about Spellbinders dies?)

Becca, these are gorgeous cards, as all of your cards are. I was especially drawn to the first card (blue one) for I love the sayings. It made me think of my sister who is going through some rough times right now. Her husband is in hospice care, she is disabled herself and so the weight of the world seems to be crashing down around her. She is strong in the Lords faith but everybody can still feel down. I will share this card with her so that she may feel uplifted with the saying.
Thanks for your inspiration to us all.
