Earth Laughs

:45 Hmmmm, well I had a post scheduled for last night, but in my sleepy stupor I keyed the time in wrong time.

On Splitcoaststampers one of the techniques showcased last week was misting  with markers so I decided to give it a try.  This whole card is misted, part with markers and part was done by misting the paper before stamping.

The card is made with Fabriano Acquarello Watercolor Paper.  The flowers were misted after they were stamped with dye based ink and the sentiment tag was misted with markers.  The background paper was done with the same colors by misting the paper and applying the dye based ink with an aquapainter.  The final layer was scored with a scor-pal around the outside edges and between flowers to give a tiny bit of dimension and the panel criss-crossed with embroidery floss  The sentiment sits on a tag punched out of the same watercolor paper, mounted on sticky dots, embellished with ribbon and dew drops.

Here is a closer view…

The ribbon is actually more of a hot pink than the coral color that appears here and the watercolors appear much softer in real life.  The camera and editing adds just a little bit of harshness.
