Good morning sweet friends! Today is Day of Giving Friday and I’m getting ready to send the next batch of cards out. Can I just tell you that when I don’t make a new card for Day of Giving Friday, I take a look through my never ending stash. That’s a great feeling but even more, the rush of memories is delightful. I remember what I was doing and what I was going through with each card. I don’t know why, but this was one of my very, very favorites. Leave a reply if you’d like it to come live at your house.
This time around, I decided to do the inside with using the same punch. Easy!
The pretty swirl making the frame around the card uses an EKSuccess border punch. I haven’t picked a border punch up in a long time but they’ve always been one of my favorite tools. I figured out an easy way to punch the border on four sides so that it fit and I show that in an older youtube HERE. This especially works with long tall sentiments and there’s also a way to make a square sentiment as I ‘ve shown HERE. It makes a lovely background to an easy card.
About Day of Giving Friday
For new readers, every Friday it’s my pleasure to give away a card. The card goes to a randomly picked reader (worldwide) who leaves a comment in our conversation. Want to know more about Day of Giving, here’s a link to my FAQ’s just check out #11. You can check to see if your name is on the list of winners HERE. For your comment: What trend or tool has come back that you welcome with wide open arms?

Great card. I’m not too up on what is trending. I just know what I like. First I was a paper addict, became a stampaholic, progressed to punch binging, and am now a die freak. The best part is, I’M NOT LOOKING FOR A CURE OR TREATMENT! (;}
Very pretty my friend, Becca. Just like Earlene I too am a dieaholic! Can’t stop buying but I have told my hubby if I die first that they are worth a lot LOL.
Have a great weekend Becca.
I never seem to be up on trends. i just do my thing. Such a beautiful card!
Becca – I love this one – the pearls are what do it I’m sure! You have a beautiful way with your creations! Hugs Dianne
What a pretty, pretty card. So feminine and elegant. And a beautiful sentiment, too. Just lovely!
Since I have been stamping since….the late 1980’s (!!!) I have seen lots of things come and go. I have loads of stamps and am happy to see they are still popular, even though the dies, computer graphics, and electronic cutting have added a lot to my cardmaking. I still reach for the stamps.
Your cards are the most beautiful I’ve seen, love love love them. Would treasure one
Your cards are so beautiful. I am a bit behind on my site. As a solo crafter, wife and mom, an aged self is not as fast as she used to be. As I operate a Non Profit business, funds are always tight. Where I won’t cut corners, it is often limiting quantities.
Becca I believe that your cards are as beautiful as you are. You have touched my heart so many times through your trials and triumphs. I have thought on several occasions that I may not ever get to drink coffee with you or have intimate girlfriend chats with you on planet earth, but as followers of our Lord Jesus Christ, we will have all of eternity to get to know each other. So when we all get to heaven I’ll be the one with my arms open wide, ready to give you my long overdue hug of love and friendship. Thanks for all you do Becca. You are truly loved. Leah
I have been making cards for a couple of years now and have seen many new products and techniques come and go. My staples are the stamps. Love stamps!! (and embossing folders, dies – you name it!) Beautiful cards and especially the sentiment. Thanks for sharing with us.
You are so very talented. As always, love your gorgeous cards. Thank you for such great inspiration.
like the first two commenters, I am not too hip on trends. I know what I like and even if it is retired, if I like it I keep it, lol. I way too much stuff tho, so I may have to, but it would be like pulling teeth, lol. I received your card on Tuesday. It is so beautiful. thanks you so much. Have an awesome day!!
As a always, Becca, you outdo yourself with each card. I confess to being more and more of a die-aholic, too, but also love punches for their quickness, They are very versatile.
Once again you´ve shared such a beautiful card here today. I love the soft gentle touch to it.
I must confess I don´t think much about if anything is on trend or not, I do what I like and try some new things now and then and some I really like and keep in, while others I don´t really like, and then they´re gone again pretty soon.
I also have been using my punches more lately. They were gathering dust. :-)
I have been using them to make my envelope liners. 99.9% of the time I make my own envelopes so I like to jazz them up a bit.
I love the inside of this card as much as the outside! Pink gingham is so feminine. Lately I have gone back to stamping some images and coloring them with watercolor pencils, blending with a blender pen and then fussy cutting them vs buying dies for images I already have.
Your card is just beautiful as always Becca, i like my dies some beautiful new ones coming out ,just wish i could afford them .

I love the verse on this lovely card.Christine S.
Lovely sentiment. I usually don’t keep up with the trends. I read all about them, may try a few at the time. But they come to mind later and I enjoy trying a trend from the past. Time to drag out my crimper.
I love the trend of DIY. I remember in the 60’s we made our clothes, cooked from scratch and my mom decorated the house with hand made items and of course all the crafts and hand made cards! Another lovely card Becca . . . Have a wonderful weekend! !
Beautiful card as alway, love the bottom edge! The verse is beautiful! Thanks for sharing!??
Beautiful card Becca & I love the stamp-they should un-retire it
I’m glad embossing paste is back-I have jars of it from original time-hate to use all my stuff but better soon or I will run out of time :)
Love the saying Becca – and, the card. So appropriate for me at this time as we have a tree farm…you really feel in touch with God when walking thru the grove of 40 feet high Christmas Trees planted 12 feet apart so it is a forrest! Smells just like Christmas!!!!
Can’t think of any tool that has come back to my use other than a punch or two that I am liking..
Beautiful card. Love the verse.
I love this card. When you first showed how to use the punch for a frame, I tried it several times. I haven’t done it since, so it is great to get a refresher. I’ll have to start using the punches again. So that is my come-back tool.
Love everything about this card,so very beautiful!!
First of all I must say all the cards you create are beautiful! I’m really not into trends I just make what I feel at that moment. Usually it turns out but there have really been some disasters. lol
Unicorns seem to be a fad now–collected them decades ago on store bought cards when they were so hard to find. Copper seems to be a trendy color now– love it for autumn.
Becca, Was just reading Romans 1 this morning, pondering vs 20 that say since the creation of the world, His invisible attributes, His eternal power, and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made…
And then there is was right on your card. BEAUTIFUL and timely. As trending, I think your faithful readers and I agree, dies are the in thing. Always love your work.
i sometimes forget that i have that hand held die punch with the little squares. the name is alluding me now. just the other day i remembered to personalize something i mad in the mixed media relm. love these cards and all of you tutorials. tfs
Since I am fairly new at cardmaking, even some of the old punches look fascinating to me. I do like to work with them.
I also – as always – love your beautiful card.
Hi Becca, this card is so beautifully made. I’ve always loved using punches. I am not sure what is in & trending, but I always seem to find that when I like something & want to purchase it it is old stock. Gotta love google though, it always makes it a challenge to find.
I am yet to master using my punch around the page punches lol
Have a lovely weekend x
Yet again a beautiful card.Love the edge on this card
Happy Friday, Becca,
What a lovely card and I was very surprised to learn that the openwork was not from a die but from your border punches. Thank you so much for the tutorials!
I love dry embossing with brass stencils and for awhile it seemed everyone stopped making them. I know dies can do this too, but even so, I was so happy when I found stencils available again.
Isn’t it great to have so many creative tools available to us?!
Love and blessings,
Becca, this is one of my favorite techniques in my “Becca file”. I have used this with several punches and always have a beautiful border!
Lovely Becca! I am a spellbinders shopaholic thanks to your lovely creations! I love using them!
Truly beautiful card, yet again! Strangely enough, it’s the large border punches which have made a come back with me. Only a few days ago, I did a batch where I punched both sides of a strip of card so that I could run a ribbon through the centre and I’d forgotten just how lovely they look. Great minds think alike!
I especially like today’s card for it’s simplicity and good-for-all-reasons usage. I’ve noticed and happily welcomed back the availability of stencils. My collection dates back to the 70’s and I’ve always made it a point to use them several times a year so they wouldn’t be forgotten or wasted expenditures. The stencils allow me to play around with coloring and different medias for effect.
Good morning Becca, what a beautiful card it’s so Spring like!!! Texture paste seems to have made a come back!!! If you wait long enough I think everything makes a comeback!!!
Christi I think you could mean Quickcutz. Thanks for reminding me I will hunt mine out I’m sure I have the Alphabet!!!
Have a good one!!!
I have to start using my border dies. You make such beautiful cards using those dies. This one indeed is special as I am Lutheran so Martin Luther is familiar to me and next year is the 500th anniversary of the Reformation. I didn’t know there were stamps with his quotes. Thanks for the beautiful card.
Absolutely love the verse as well as the card. Would love to win and send to my dearest friend who just had to place her husband in Hospice care. She is really going through a rough time and this would fit her perfeclty
Hi Becca, What a beautiful card.
I especially like the verse, It speaks to me &
reminds me to thank God for everything.
I just like to make my cards to fit the person.
I don’t look to see what the trend is.
Beautiful card as are the previous ones. I would like to see dies that have been retired come back. Graphic 45 to bring back. All the paper pads not just one when they bring back a d/c collection.
With you on this one, Kay.
I’m so happy that embossing powder has made a come back. When I was first introduced to it, we used a light bulb as the heat source to melt the powder…a heat gun is a definite improvement over the light bulb. :) Gorgeous card!!
Pretty card the verse lovely it ties the spiritual to the earthly !
I don’t worry about trends too much if you keep it long enough
you will always have trendy things Pamxxxxx
What a wonderful card with a great sentiment. I have not been able to come up with a trend or tool that has come back that I have welcomed with open arms. Gee Whiz.
I received your very lovely card in the mail this week! It was a wonderful pick-me-up, and I know with whom I will share it!
I started card making after the paper- crimping rage had passed. I think the crimper is lots of fun to use both on cards and on other types of crafts. I also like chalks.
I could really use this card right now. I am going through so many painful illnesses that still are not being treated even after two years of suffering from an infection that has been spreading throughout my body. I am still fighting for the antibiotic I need so in the meantime the Psoriatic Arthritis is running rampant as well which is really painful this time of year. So please keep me in your prayers.
Hmmm, Well, Can I just say I have never had any tools of the trade other than cardstock, paper, scissors and Ribbon before now….BUT, I just sprung for the new Platinum 6 and cannot wait for my shoulder to heal so I can play with it :D. The first two dies I bought for it was a cross and a heart. These two symbols mean so very much to me. I did get some embossing folders , too. I also have a flower making punch now , too! So I am ecstatic!!!!
Praying for you, Karen.
Well I cannot be greedy, since I received one of your precious cards. It has a place in our home so that I see it every day as I sit down to have meals. Makes me say ahhh! So I cannot wish for another one. I do love the way you used the tiny floral designer paper. My organza bows don’t seem to lay flat like I see that yours does. Is there a secret? Are you using your own bow maker? The sentiment is so appropriate for this time of year when the sky is so clear you can see all of the stars. My Comment would consist of the square Martha Stewart magnetic punches that you made a Video about. I did the three hearts in a row. I had not used them in ages. Now I’m looking to see if Tuesday Morning has any for sale. Hugs as always, Sara
Sara, if you have a Michael’s; try there. They are on clearance, if they have any left.
I am not up with trends just do what I like. Love your card I know you like using punches I have watched your videos and what you come up with are great.
I don’t really follow trends all that much, so I am not really aware of whats come back that used to be hot, although emboss resist seems to be very popular recently, and I have always enjoyed that,
Love your card Becca, and I would willingly give it a home here in the antipodes.
Lovely card! I remember when you shared that tutorial with the border punch, and I bought the punch because I loved the results so much!
I find I am using my embossing folders more now after taking a break from them. I got some new ones I really like and can’t wait to try them out!
I am not one to really follow trends or rush to get the latest tool. I tend to do what I like. Punches and dies are a favorite because I don’t like to fussy cut. One Sheet Wonder cards are grabbing me right now. I think the technique took a break, but has made a strong return.
Very pretty card, Becca.
Becca- I just love the maroon in this card! It is absolutely stunning!
Love the sentiment on this card. The EKSuccess Large Edge Punch – Scroll Pattern is so elegant. I’m glad that the ombre look is back. I especially like the look on clothing.
If you have grandchildren then adult coloring is just a continuation of a life pastime. My granddaughter has always been in to colored pencils instead of crayons. That’s the latest trend that I see today and have decided to do any coloring in card making by pencil and that wonderful colored pencil blender. It makes me look so much better than I am.
Absolutely love everything about this beautiful card! I have just discovered you and your beautiful creations and I am so glad that I did! :-) As far as trends go, I find I am back to using more punches these days – especially edges. Also, I have unearthed my crimper after seeing it being used in several different ways recently. Thanks for sharing your amazing talent!
Such a beautiful card and a true sentiment.
I am enjoying finding some of my old original Spellbinders dies. Does any one remember having a free tiny die wth your purchases. I have a little cat that I love using every Halloween.
Hello Becca! I can easily see why this card is a very very favorite of yours! It’s beautiful and I love the sentiment plus it’s PINK! Your talents know no bounds and neither does your generosity. Hoping to be blessed with this card. Off to watch your videos. God bless!
Another beautiful card. I like the greeting that you used
This is a beautiful card, made more beautiful by the words of an amazing man.
Hi Becca. Great card. Love the border punch you’ve used. Not sure about a returning trend. Foiling perhaps?… I do like the look it gives. Happy weekend.
Such a pretty, pretty card, Becca! You are so sweet to offer a card each week like this. There must be a lot of Becca talent residing in far flung places now :o)
Adult colouring books are popular in the UK at the moment and when we were unwell as children, my mother would tuck us up on the sofa with a colouring book and pencils – so comforting. I’ve found that some of the older ladies who come to our crafting afternoon at Church, love picking up coloured pencils and use these, rather than pens, to colour stamped images. It’s so lovely to see this :o)

Hi Becca, since a long time I’m a fan of your stunning creations.
I love the art you create cards. They’re all so special with a wonderful touch of love.
This card is gorgeous again with the beautiful bow, and the sentiment is so true.
Have a nice weekend Petra
A gorgeous card, so romantic and elegant!
Love the colours you have used :))
Thanks for the chance to win!
What a beautiful card with the most wonderful sentiment.
Stamps. They seemed to have gone out of favour for quite a while with dies being the main focus but I love stamping and colouring, so I’m a happy bunny!!
I received my card! Thank you!!! It is so much more beautiful in person than in pix. I will cherish it!!!
Thus card is very sweet! Crisp like the autumn air! Love it! Hope you are feeling better!
You are one talented lady and bless you for sharing your Godly talents
Hi Becca, A very pretty card, lovely die-cuts and beautiful patterned papers, I love it !!
Lots of love from Patricia xx
As always you have inspired me to create. Years ago, I invested quite a bit in brass stencils. They have been out of vogue for a while, but I am glad they and embossing paste are coming back. Thank you for what you do; I perceive your sharing as a ministry, especially to those who are home bound or temporarily out of circulation. I hope you enjoy this new month of October that God has given us to reflect and incorporate the autumn palette into our card making.
I just love your bows. That’s one thing I have not been able to make. I’m not a trendy person, just know what I want to try when I see it. Thanks so much for all your inspiration
This would be perfect for a friend of min. What a good idea to use the punch on the inside too with the patterned paper. Very pretty!!
Wow your cards are just unbelievable beautiful! So glad I just randomly found this blog today. Keep up the great work! I’ll be checking back again soon! Have a great day!
I love that quote, this is just Beautiful!!
Becca, I love this sentiment. Stencils have made a come-back and I am glad to have old stencils in the art supply stash.
Becca, it would be an honor to be picked to receive one of your cards. Wish me luck :) Thanks, Pam
Becca, Love the saying and the paper is one of my favorite in that collection. Just came across it a few minutes ago while looking for something else. Can’t think of a tool other than a punch or die. Loves, Ruthie
Becca as usual the card is beautiful. The sentiment is very nice. A work of art like this only needs a frame. Thanks for sharing.
I don’t really keep up with trends… I create using my favorite tools…they may be real old or new. But right now I’m loving the Shabby Chic look also playing with mixed media and paints and glitters.
Such a pretty card today, as always, I love the verse/sentiment that you have added too. Hope this finds you well my friend.
At this precise moment I cannot think of anything that has come back that I’m pleased about lol! I am sure there must be something but not got my thinking head on at the moment!
Love & hugs
Jacquie J xxx
Just gorgeous! And so very true.
I’ve only been making cards for a couple of years now, so “everything old is new again” for me. However, since I’m a bling addict, I’m glad to see gilding flakes making a resurgence. Thanks for the opportunity to win another of your gorgeous cards.
What an absolutely wonderful card! No new trends in my crafting box, but after seeing this beautiful card I may have to get out my border punches and start using them again!
The crimper tool…funny how we hold on to our tools…just like clothes, they come back in style..love your card, would love to have in my home..
you always bless me with your wonderful cards!!!!!!!!!
Yes, I think this little card needs a home with me! Beautiful, as usual.
