Craft it Forward Blog Hop

Hi there blog friends.  Today I’m participating in a Blog Hop called Craft it Forward.  This is right up my alley and I hope you’ll take a second to see how you can participate.  There’s a page of all the challenges, prizes and activities at Craft-it-Forward. Craft it Forward is sponsored by Better Homes and Gardens – Scrapbooks, Etc and is an encouragement to use crafting for good in the community.  This month the project is a Patriotic Thank You card for the troops . . . you had me at hello!! The card above is my take on the monthly project.

There’s a list of designers who have taken on the challenge (Blog Hop List Here) and each have taken a source project as inspiration and created a new patriotic card.  If you want to get involved all you have to do is make your own card go the Craft It Forward  gallery and post a photo of it for a chance to win $500 for you and another $500 for the charity of your choice!

With patriotic colors and a lot of my touches,  I used several of my favorite Spellbinders die templates — as usual you can find my supplies list below.  In the mean time I need to pass you along to the next person along the hop, just click on the name below to get to your next stop with:

Oh, Becca, what a truly amazing patriotic card! I absolutely LOVE it (no surprise there, as I love everything you make)! I’ve made cards for our troops and have always shied away from putting ribbon and flowers on them (thinking the guys would think they’re not masculine enough) – but, you’ve really made a card that any soldier would be honored to receive. LOVE that little flag pin waving at the top! (Where DID you find it?) Thank you so much for sharing with us.ReplyCancel

What a fabulous card! Anyone in the Armed Forces would be flabbergasted & touched to received it. It just takes my breath away. Beautifully done!

Thank you so much for the tutorial Perfect Mitered Frame. I mean really thank you. Do you know I went out and purchased a geometry set when I first attempted this technique last summer. I had not used a compass nor protractor since high school many decades ago. I still ended up with a lopsided parallelogram instead of the square I was shooting for.

I can’t wait to get home and attempt this again, following your tutorial. I’m so grateful to you.ReplyCancel

    Becca,
A beautiful card once again. You truly amaze me with all your talents. I do have a question, what did you use to make the “fan like” layer? Is that a patterned paper and you just scored and folded as you did with the punches? This card is stunning!! Thank you so very much for sharing.
