Amazing Paper Grace

The ordinary and unexpected gift of stamping

We Interrupt the Regularly Scheduled Post . . .

Posted by Becca Feeken on Tuesday, September 2nd, 2008

Oh my goodness, I did not anticipate the response to the card I posted yesterday for the Friends of Flourishes announcement.  Can I just say that I have the most wonderful readers…no, I really, really mean it!  This blog has been a blessing to me; it has really kept me engaged, optimistic and grateful.  Grateful for all the wonderful folks that stop by and grateful for all the folks that I’m able to chat with through email.

You all push me to do my very best . . . and for that I sincerely thank you.

Well you asked for it, so I put together a tutorial on how to do the circle frame from this card here.  The wild thing about the tutorial is that it is a video tutorial.   Now anyone who knows me will be very shocked and laugh, because this is simply not my M.O.   Oh well, wilder things have happened.  The video quality is not what I envisioned when I started but I’m sure that research will help me choose better options.   Please enjoy, keeping in mind that I’ve never done this before and figured out how to do the whole thing, from A to Z, tonite!   Yikes -  Flip Video 101, how to get it into laptop, how to edit it, how to add title, how to save it, sign up for YouTube, how to upload it, how to embed it in blog.  I am woman, hear me roar (lol)!!

Yes, we interrupt the regularly scheduled post . . .for a video tutorial!  I had another Friends of Flourishes post prepared for today, but I will gladly post it tomorrow.   Thank you, thank you, thank you for all your kind words!!

{{Big Hugs - Becca}}

Wow, at the end of processing your video, YouTube feeds you links to all the other videos in the world with the same or similar key words.   If you have an afternoon free take a gander at all the videos featuring Circles and Corner Punches.  Well I guess tons of other people have made sweet discoveries using corner punches as I did. . . be sure you hunt down some of these other videos too!

    Well, Becca, your video is so professionally done, it is like you have done hundreds before this one!

    I certainly hope you choose to grace us with some more of your presentations. I send out BIG echos for a ribbon one!!!

    A video, for me, makes things so much easier to understand how things are done. I have this saved to my favorites under two different categories, so I will be sure to find it when I look for it again!

    Big hugs back at ya, Becca!!!

    Good evening, Becca - I’m a tad later this evening. I did so enjoy your tutorial; thank you so much for sharing with us how you did that beautiful circle. I must sus out my own corner punches now ( well not just now, ‘cos it’s 11.25p.m. here) and see if I have that particular one, although your designs with your other punches are beautiful too. You are such an innovative young lady. To boot, I enjoyed hearing your voice. So now I can put your voice to your photo when I’m reading your daily contributions. I hope now that you have had your baptism of fire and dived in at the deep end ( how’s that for mixed metaphors, eh! ) you will permit us more video tutorials on your lovely cards.

  32. Barbon 03 Sep 2008 at 4:46 pm 32

    Becca, great, great job on your first video!!!! I actually tried this yesterday and had great success doing it. I also used a scalloped Nestie for mine. You way was a lot easier than my way of doing it though, lol! I just grabbed Nesties and tried different sizes of scalloped circles until I found one that worked out perfectly for my corner punch. This was really fun with awesome results- you are just a genious :D ! Have a blessed evening.

    Thank you! Wonderful job and you make it look so easy; I will try these tomorrow. I’ve never left a comment before but I read your blog almost daily. Love your style and your ribbon collection! Maybe your NEXT video will be on tying a pretty bow using the wide ribbon. I struggle with them.

    Bless you…

    Gorgeous! It was very generous of you to share your knowledge. Today was my weekly card making group. We all gathered around the computer and watched your video twice. Each of us own that heart corner stamp and were delighted with your clear instructions in how to use it in this new and clever way. I found your pattern lends itself to very elegant style to simple and cute. (I made one a wedding card using very fine papers and pearls and a cute one using pink scraps.) Thank you so much!
