Boldness Has Genius

I’m so glad to be back, and with a card!  My daughters graduation was so nice, and when I was looking through sentiments appropriate for a graduation card, I came across this one and set it aside in my "short stack"  (the pile of stamps I keep on my desk that whisper "use me first").

I am so very blessed.  During the weekend I was very busy but wouldn’t dream of missing the monthly stamping gathering I attend.  Every month I’m a secret sister and also have a secret sister that gives me "to die for stuff".  I did the happy dance when I received a stack of Webster Pages!!  As you can see, I didn’t waste a moment getting that DP into a card.  It’s a tall card, 9×4 that fits into business sized envelope, but the hinge for the card is at the top so I had to start with a piece of cardstock that was 18 inches.  I also wanted a skinny embossed rectangle and scalloped rectangle but don’t have the new tall rectangle nesties yet.  So, I whittled down the size of the rectangle and embossed one side of it and moved the image over to the other side of the nestie and ran it through a second time.  Then on the scallops, I cut down the center and overlapped. to make the rectangle skinny – at a cursory glance, you would never know.    I finished up with ribbon and dew drops and even decorated the inside since there was sooooooo much white space.  Thanks for you patience, and thanks for stopping by.

Becca I am so glad your daughter’s graduation went well. What an accomplishment. I know you are so proud! I have missed your artwork but I know the importance of putting family first.

This card is beautiful. I love the odd size and the color combo. You are so good about stepping outside of the box! Thank you for sharing and welcome back!

I love what you did with Kristina’s challenge! The DP is so pretty! I wouldn’t have been able to wait either. Though I have at times been known to hoard it. What a waste, right?!
