To find the beautiful, we must carry it with us.  Don’t you just love that sentiment!!!  Sigh…

My post today is quick and the stamping, simple.  The background is a small square I had left over when I made the background on this card here.  It’s another embossed resist background and the details on how to reproduce that background are found here.  I liked the corner flourish on this BoBunny stamp set so I used it to frame the corners and accent the embossed resist background piece.  Using my homemade daubers here I smudged Faded Jeans Distress ink around the edges of the base card, the blue stamped layer, the embossed resist layer and the sentiment.  Those daubers work like a dream!

This may get a couple of rhinestones to accent the flourishes when I send it out, but today I’m okay with simple.  Remember to carry beauty with you thoughout your day…

Supplies:
Stamps:  BoBunny – Flourish, PSX (Retired) – Sentiment
Paper:  Bazzill, Splotches – Becca’s Stash, Fabriano Acquarello
Ink:  Faded Blue Jeans Distress Ink
Accessories:  MM Tab, MM Buttons, Ribbon

    Hi Becca,
I friend of mine turned me on to your website and I love your cards because they are very individualized. I noticed that you said you made your own daubers–what did you use?

I’ll keep looking to you for inspiration!

I decided to switch it up a little bit and play with some dark colors.  You’ll be surprised to find no design paper, no embossing, no border punches and absolutely no frills only for today.  This was actually a fun exercise, I decided that I wanted to make my own muted design paper.  I was going to do a resist but when I got to this stage I decided to leave it alone and just sponged some color around the edges.  So, I stamped the script stamp, overstamped Versamark with the Vine Background and embossed with clear embossing powder.  I sponged around the edges of the top panels with Close to Cocoa.  The brass edges are actually brads that look like corner pieces – love them!  Then I let go of 3!! of my favorite filigree brads.  Ah, this reminded me that I like dark colors too – the black cardstock defines things so crisply.

I forgot to mention….I really didn’t want bling for this card and the filigree brads each came with a rhinestone brad as the center.  I glued a pearl on top and colored it black with my Copic Marker.  I love the message too, it’s so bold and positive.  So, as you go forth this week, choose to live life…seize the day!

Supplies:
Stamps:  Stampabilities – Vine Background, La Londa Script, Wordsworth – Sentiment
Paper:  Bazzill
Ink – Versamark, SU Close to Cocoa, Adirondack – Expresso
Accessories – Filigree Brads – Spare Parts (Hobby Lobby), Corner Brads – Spare Parts (Hobby Lobby), Pearls, Ribbon, Clear Embossing Powder, Black Embossing Powder, Copic Marker – Black

P.S. I loved reading the comments everyone left for How to Dance in the Rain.  You guys Rock!!  If you haven’t read the comments, peek back in on that post!

Edited:  Okay that post is quickly becoming How to Weep Silently when Someone Tells a Touching Story — don’t miss the comments they are awesome.  If you have a great story or comment to add, I hope you’ll go back and share.

I needed to make a card for a friend that is under the weather.  This went into her goodie box this morning.  I love it when I’m sending a box – it’s license to make a super, duper double decker huge layered up card –  because it doesn’t have to fit it into an envelope.   This is a quick and easy card using mostly stuff that has been out on my table this week.

Thanks for stopping by…I’ll be back with another card in the afternoon.

Supplies:
Stamps:  My Sentiments Exactly – Sentiment
Paper:  Fabriano Acquarello, The Paper Company – Pomegranate, Amber
Ink:  SU Rose Red
Accessories:  Cuttlebug, Sizzix – Wavy Frame, Nestabilities, Ribbon, Prima Flowers, Pearls, Metal Rimmed Tag

What die did you use on the embossing in the frame insert? I have totally loved your site. I went back yesterday and read all of your entries from the beginning. Since SU! is now going to be selling the Big Shot, I made reference to your organizational idea from the June 10th entry on Splitcoast. I hope you don’t mind.ReplyCancel
