My goodness, while wading through email, I’ve uncovered the same question several times. Since it will take a while to read each email, I thought I would make it easier for those who are waiting for answers.
Question: What kind of paper do you useon the Cuttlebug cards you have been making?
Answer: I find that watercolor paper works very well from a thickness standpoint. I use 90 lb watercolor for card bases and for things I have to punch out or cut extensively and I use 140 lb watercolor paper for embossing with Cuttlebug Folders – it makes a superb impression. Please note this post if you intend to use punches of any type on watercolor paper. I use Fabriano Acquarello Watercolor Paper in 90lb and 140lb weight but I think that Swathmore or Canson would do just as good a job if that’s what you have locally. If not, try Dick Blick for the Fabriano.
Question: Where do you find The Paper Company paper that you say you have used on several of the cards?
Answer: Good question. First of all The Paper Company paper that I’m talking about is a "cover weight", it is the same weight as the luscious Papertrey Ink paper that everyone loves. The paper has a subtle shimmer to it not quite as pronounced as that of say Bazzill Bling. I have been getting it at Michaels and my Michaels is a smaller one that doesn’t always carry everything. It comes in both 8.5" x 11" and 12" x 12". I called the company last week because so many were not having luck locating their product. They do sell their product online but it is only available in huge quantities. I asked if they had a list of retailers or could direct me to one online but alas there is no such list. They said that their products are carried by Michaels, Joann’s and AC Moore – but I know that those stores don’t always carry the product. It’s a good idea to call ahead. Ü
Question: The little bracket shaped label on the Baby Girl Card, where did you get that?
Answer: I think this is what you are talking about…
this little creature is as elusive as the white tiger. I pulled it out of my stash but my receipt shows I ordered it in April of 2007 directly from Sizzix. It is called Ellison Design Window Cuts – Frame by Emily Humble and it was item number 23888. It is very small because this is a Sizzlit sized die which makes it about 1" tall by 1.5" wide. I have searched and searched for it so that I can provide a link but the best I can tell it has been discontinued – what were they thinking? I did have a reader report to me that she found it in an Ebay listing in the UK but it was price prohibitive. This is a very popular shape right now, so I would not be surprised if someone designs it into a punch or a die cut. If anyone knows where you can get this feel free to email me, I would be delighted to pass it on!
Question: Where do you get your scripture stamps?
Answer: My most current source is Our Daily Bread Designs. Their entire inventory is Christian themed stamps and they have a vast selection of scripture stamps and inspirational quotes. I have also found a limited amount of scripture stamps at Hobby Lobby under the name Stampabilities.
Question: Can you post the dimensions to all your cards?
Answer: I can try; my very favorite size is 6" x 6"…even though it is huge, it’s my standard.
Question: How can a gal get one of your cards?
Answer: Stay tuned….without seeming pushy or greedy, I’m trying to find a way for those who have requested them to get them – perhaps an Etsy Store. I wish I could send them out to anyone who requests, but my poor craft budget could never bear the strain. Hit my contact button and send me a personal email if you have a strong feeling about this one way or another, I’d love to know what’s on your heart.
Don’t forget that this blog candy has aged to perfection and is ready to go to someones stamp room after I announce the winner some time on the evening of August 13th. I LOVE Cornish Heritage Farms – I just bought some “Thomas the Tank Engine” stamps so I can make the invitations for my son’s birthday party. Most of their stamps are way to “coloring intensive” for me, though!!

Regarding that little Sizzix die it is very close to the Spellbinders labels that are coming out. Debbie Olson had provided the sneak peek on them and I absolutely loved the shape. I have mine on preorder and can’t wait to get them.

I have a question. What type of paper do you like best for printing on, and then cutting out with those neat Spellbinders slide tags? I have the dies, and a laser printer, and have used light weight card stock (which works pretty good) but wondered if you know of some type/weight of paper that works the best for you. The paper I have used doesn’t show the embossing as well as yours appears to.

I keep hearing on video tuts that a “fixative” or “sealer” should be used atop chalking, to keep it from smudging.
Several trips to Hobby Lobby have left me STILL in a fog, so I’m asking the PRO!
Please tell me WHAT product(s) can be used for this purpose. (And, I’m guessing that it should be a SPRAY rather than a BRUSH-ON product?)
