I have a quick card to share with you today; it’s my try at Sketch Challenge 191. Whoa, the sketch is really simple but the panels have to reach the edges which means I couldn’t really do layers!!!! A day without layers is like a day without sunshine :) Okay, so I made up for it with ribbon…thank goodness there were no restrictions there. All in all a very quick card!
There are basically two side by side panels. On top of that I constructed a panel woven with ribbon. Using my word punch I measured and cut seven holes. The ribbon is woven from the back and x’ed across the front to hold the panel of paper I wanted to stamp on. Working from right to left, I ended the weaving with a knot on the end. A small gap gave me the room I needed to stamp my sentiment.
Supplies:
Stamps: Penny Black – Sentiment, Stampabilities – Flourish
Paper: Colorbok Ornate, Bazzill
Ink: Coffee Bean Brilliance
Accessories: Ribbon, SU Word Punch, Brads
Yea!! Have a fab Friday!!

Good afternoon, Becca. Your card is absolutely stunning ( for a quick card!!! I wish – it would take me all day to decide on the layout, the technique and then putting it together). I have, however, used a similar lacing technique on a card and it drew many favourable comments. TFS

Becca……what a fantastic ideal that was to weave the ribbon like that!!! I did that challenge too, but did not realize it had to be all the way to the edge………….I very new at challenges!!! Yours is really lovely and I love the color combination you used!!!

Becca,
I have stumbled onto your blog, and wanted to tell you how beautiful your work is! All of your projects are well thought out and I love your attention to detail. I was so inspired that I spent my evening playing with cuttlebug embossing folders and border punches – something you have mastered in your designs. Keep up the good work! God Bless!

What an absolutely beautiful card, Becca. It so intrigued me that I immediately got out my word window punch. However, I can’t for the life of me figure out how you were able to accomplish punching all those windows as paper can only be inserted so far into the punch. Did you fold the paper first before punching? I didn’t see any crease lines. Are you willing to share this secret? I hope so. Regardless, the card is amazing. Very creative.
