Amazing Paper Grace

The ordinary and unexpected gift of stamping

An Unlikely Inspiration

Posted by Becca Feeken on Monday, March 3rd, 2008

You never, never know where you’ll find your inspiration.  What was supposed to be a quick trip to the hardware store to match a color of paint turned into  an hour or so of me up and down the paint aisle, mesmerized by color.  I came across tons of paint chips - even cool ones with windows.  Yeah, I’ve collected and played with them before, but I’m always on the look out for big ones with the writing on the side and when I see multicolored ones I often snag them for my palette folder.

I used this color chip and palette in the card below.  Lucky for me the printing on the chip is easy to hide.  The outcome was a quick card using a piece of art that I had colored some time ago - once I found a place for it on the card, everything else fell into place.

Supplies: tamps : Stampendous, MSE Alphabet Ribbon: Michaels $1 Bin Paper: Colormates Ink: Black Brilliance, VersaMagic - Aegean Blue Accessories: Paint chip - Lowes Valspar Paint, Prismacolor Pencils and OMS

Oh my goodness. I have heard so many ladies talking about the paint chips. Guess I am off to the paint store! This quick card (as you called it) is beautiful! Thank you for sharing.

I have a challenge for you.
Next time you go to Home Depot go to the Disney paint and make a card from their paint chips. I know it will be wondrful.
