Your Faithfulness

Hi there!  I don’t want you to think that I”m yearning for spring, but hallelujah, the spring colors are coming out!   If you don’t think that flowers and butterflies are in, then have a look at all the K and Company paper that has just come out.  They are back to their romantic, classic look if you ask me.  I purchased a little pad and had to try it out, thus the card!  I’m using one of the new Our Daily Bread Designs Sets called Faith, and some new K & Co. paper.  Short and sweet!!

(Those of you who were interested in making the calendar from A Captivating Gift, sweet Wanda sent her source, so I’ll share her comment with you at the bottom of my post).

HOW IT’S MADE

1. Make Card Base from cream – mine is 5½” x
2. Layer with paper and mat slightly smaller than base. Adhere with foam tape
3. Cut border. Adhere with foam tape.
4. Stamp sentiment and cut/emboss with Spellbinders Labels Twelve.  Adhere with foam tape.
5. Tie ribbon and secure under largest layer.  Add pearls.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Faith
Paper: Bazzill, K&Company
Ink: Versafine Vintage Sepia
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Twelve, Martha Stewart Border Punch, Ribbon, Pearls

By the way, many of you have been waiting on pins and needles for me to share the pattern Wanda used for the sweet calendar she sent – here’s her comment:

First of all, thank you all so much for the compliments. It was so sweet of Becca to share this, but as you can see from the ribbon and pearls, she is a considerable influence in my crafting.

I e-mailed her some details on the project but I am an “ad-hoc” stamper and do not document things well. I’m hoping I gave her enough to duplicate and enhance along with documenting the process. Here are a couple of things to get you going. The easel/box itself was made from this tutorial: http://joaniscardsmadebyhand.blogspot.com/2010/06/easel-box-tutorial.html Every thing else seems standard to me except maybe the backgrounds on the flowers made my masking the flowers and using “scrubbies on a stick” for texture.

If there is a part that you specifically want to know, you can e-mail me at wandathomas {at} att.net. Again, thank you all so much for the praise and kind words.

I know each of you realize how much a handmade gift means to people and I encourage you to share your talents in the same way – to total strangers that might need an uplift. Believe me, it does more for you than it does for the recipient! Let’s all pay it forward.

    Hi Becca,
I love the beautiful colours in your spring card. The floral paper is stunning! I agree that flowers and butterflies are going to be very popular this year and that makes me really happy. I’m always drawn to florals from delicate to bolder looks. Great job Becca.

What a beautiful card! I also tried the easel box and it turned out pretty good. I was a little confused about what parts were what in the tutorial, so a second one will be a little easier. I have always loved the easel card by itself, but this puts a new spin on it. TFSReplyCancel

What a sweet, sweet card Becca – so refreshing and uplifting in the colours you have chosen.

What a kind and unassuming crafter Wanda is. I feel that she underestimates her own talents and is more happy to make someone else happy and the compliments she receives are less important than the importance of the person receiving her kind gifts (if that makes sense).

I’m still in awe of what she produced for you – as I am everyday that you post one of your spectacular pieces of work.

Thank you as always for sharing,

    Paula, Derbyshire, UK.ReplyCancel
