You are in our Prayers – Flourished Christian Symbols

Here is another card featuring a new Our Daily Bread Designs set.  This one is from Flourished Christian Symbols.  Be sure to hop over to Our Daily Bread Designs to see all the new releases and samples.

I got to play along with the Technique Lovers Challenge, TLC188 with Batik, the colorwash way.  I made my background by embossing a motif with clear EP then adding drops of reinkers on my teflon sheet followed by spritzing water on my teflon sheet and laying my paper down on the wet  sheet.  I did the technique this way because I didn’t have a fine mister so I didn’t want to try to mist directly on the paper.  I liked the outcome!  I finished by laying a sheet of paper over the embossing and ironing to remove the EP.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs
Paper:  The Paper Company, Fabriano Acquarello Watercolor, Bazzill
Ink:  Versamark, Clear EP, Colorbox Chalks – Blue Iris
Accessories:  Ribbon, Pearls

Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!

This is fantastic! Your idea for laying it down on the sheet instead of spritzing is great. I don’t have one of the sheets but wax paper works pretty well too. I love these sets – and I have to have some!ReplyCancel

Another beautiful card. Something about that bow, so beautiful, it completes the card. I am so partial to big bows, everyone of my daughters childhood pictures have them in bows that are sometimes look bigger than their heads, lol. That big white bow is especially gorgeous, you know just how to make that ribbon look good. Great job!ReplyCancel

    Becca,
I am new to stamping but I love your cards. What is Clear EP and could you tell me what stamp you used for the white flourish in the background that has the pearls on it. Thank you for your work.ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

I love the card so much I am going to buy the set from ODBD, you didn’t say where the white background flourish set with the pearls is from. I really would like to buy that one also. I checked on the ODB site and didn’t see anything like it. Was the Blue Iris the reinker?ReplyCancel

  • MariOctober 3, 2008 - 2:23 pm

This is stunning Becca! I think I like your version of batik better than the original way. Seems more subtle (and appropriate fot these stamps) and soothing. Just gorgeous!ReplyCancel
