Wings of the Butterfly

Good Morning Blog friends!  I hope you had a Happy New Year!!  I’m back today with an enabling stamp that I’ve been trying to save for later on in the month.  I couldn’t do it, I gave in – it’s just waaaaay too lovely to wait.  You will likely see this more than once this month because I have a couple of different ideas swirling around my head.  The sweet stamp is from Quietfire Design called Wings of the Butterfly and it immediately zooms to the top of my favorites list.  Hand penned by Suzanne Cannon, I love the flourish on top and the whimsy of the butterfly – you just can’t get anything like this using a font!!   In the meantime for my card for today, I peeked into my stash of Riddersholmdesign paper and pulled out this muted one with a matching print.  My goodness it’s luscious and the colorway is beautiful.

I layered Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty and on top Spellbinders™ Labels Sixteen. Spellbinders™ Fanciful Flight had the perfect sized butterfly to go along with the rest of the card.  After cutting the bottom scallop with Spellbinders™ Classic Scalloped Edgeabilities, I cut circles out of the scallop with Spellbinders™ Classic Circles SM.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire DesignThe Wings of the Butterfly
Paper: Riddersholmdesign – Chantilly Dawn Collection – Calisse, Bazzill
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Chestnut Roan
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty, Spellbinders™ Labels Sixteen, Spellbinders™ Classic Scallop Edgeabilities, Spellbinders™ Classic Circles SM, Spellbinders™ Fanciful Flight, Martha Stewart Ribbon, Lace, Recollection Pearls

Don’t forget, I have New Years Blog Candy going on this week until Friday.  Click Here to go to the post where you can leave a comment to enter to win!!  See you soon!

What a beauty, Becca. That’s one of the things I want to do more on my cards this year is to use more designer paper. I have so much of it and some if it I hate to cut (just like some of my fabric – I hate to cut it because it is so pretty). Anyway, use more DP!ReplyCancel

  • Charlotte ZweigoronJanuary 2, 2012 - 11:12 am

Ah, more of the blue and brown… Love it! Another of my crafting resolutions for the year is to stick to the things I love to do. I did a number of items for a local holiday bazaar and almost suffered total burnout on paper crafting. It took me two weeks to get back in the craft room and a total overhaul of my storage system to get the juices flowing again. The beautiful ( and non-Christmas) items you have been posting on a daily basis helped as well!!ReplyCancel

Very. very nice card. Like this paper and the way you have put all together. Colors are great. I’m more of a pink lover, but this year I am going to try to break away from that and expand color selection a little. This blue and brown feeling just may be where I start. I would enjoy seeing more of your talents using this color combo. Appreciate, appreciate…I do, I do!!!!! ThanxReplyCancel

Just beautiful, and I too am passionate about the beautiful art of calligraphy. It’s a whole different world than choosing a font (although that is also a world of beautiful work!).

I am really intrigued by your Riddersholm papers. Do you buy yours directly from the company overseas, or is there some other way to get hold of these pretty papers?ReplyCancel
