Warmed with Joy

Beautiful blog friends!  I hope you are having a wonderful day :-)  I’m back with a card to share today – I love playing around with the new Cut and Tuck dies from Spellbinders.  It was sweet serendipity when I figured out that they layer with other dies magnificently and it gives such a different look.  This time around instead of folding over the cut and tuck part I took a skewer and simply curled that part over.  Very dressy.  Obviously for a card like this, it will have to go into a box/envelope so that the curls don’t get smashed or this is the type of card that goes in a larger package without having to worry about an envelope.  I designed this one as a wedding card.  The sentiment goes with a new tea/friendship set, Special Blend, from Our Daily Bread Designs, but I feel like the sentiment works for it well.

I started out the base of my medallion using Spellbinders™ Picot Edged Circles and layered on top Spellbinders™ S5-079 Persian Motifs.  After cutting Spellbinders™ S5-111 Angle Approach I curled up each folded over element and put pearls on each section as well as fold up the cutouts from the center part.  For the sentiment I used Spellbinders™ S4-353 Labels Twenty Five and rimmed it with my gold pen.  I love the subtle and dressy texture of M-Bossabilities™ EL-001 Elite embossing plate, so I used it as the base panel for my card.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread DesignsSpecial Blend
Paper:  The Paper Company, assorted specialty artists paper
Ink: Versamark
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Picot Edged Circles, Spellbinders™ S5-079 Persian Motifs, Spellbinders™ S5-111 Angle Approach, Spellbinders™ S4-353 Labels Twenty Five, M-Bossabilities™ EL-001 Elite, seam binding, Recollections Pearls, gold embossing powder, Krylon gold pen, ribbon

I hope you have yourself a crafty little day!!  Smooches!!

That card is beautiful and the words so right for the card! I remember cutting those kind of shapes using another companys tool years ago and a
scalpel to cut all the small lines but now with these dies it will be so quick to do…..I wonder if I have just been crafting too long and now older styles are coming back into vogue again. I am sure the couple will love that card Becca.

Beautiful, Becca ! When I first saw the new Spellbinders dies – and the Angle Approach in particular, it reminded me of a card you did for a Flourshes challenge using an incire template (Feb 17, 2009)….I was a dedicated fan then and I haen’t changed that feeling. Your work just has always been right up there on the cutting edge, pusing the ‘tools’ to do more than expected. Wonderful.
