Waltzingmouse Stamps – October Releases – Preview Day 1

Sweet blog friends, I’m sure you won’t know what to think – another card to share.  I’ve actually been playing with these for a bit, on and off throughout the month. There are quite a few new sets!!   The Waltzingmouse Stamps set I’m showing today is called Yonder Star and it has a country western take on Christmas – the sentiments are sooo spunky.  Today we are doing peeks and the full sets will be released and available on Friday,November 2nd.  The first card is simple – it is a shaped card using Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Twenty Three.  Using one of the new Spellbinders™ Die D-Lites, (this one called Grate Works), I layered it as a decorative base to Spellbinder™ Layered Poinsettia while the sentiment fit perfectly on Spellbinders™ Back to Basics Tags.

The Layered Poinsettia is one of my favorite die templates and can lay flat as well as be manipulated for a little dimension.  Still, it flattens down enough that chose it to carry the motif to the inside of the card.

My second card is a shaped card – using the pennant shape that is also used in the quilt motif.  I used the Yonder Star Background and cut into the motif of the quilt background along the diagonal lines created by the quilt pattern.  I topped the card off with a layered star – two of the layers are stamped with motifs from the set and give a nice variety.  It has a naturally distressed look and I decided to bring color into the design with water based markers.

I think this is the first stamp I have that says the word “y’all”.  I love it!!

How cool for us “Southerners” to have a stamp with Ya’ll ~ Love it!! Your cards are amazing just love the Poinsettia, I bought that one early in the summer while it was on sale. Love the way you did the leaves with the burlap type fabric. However I left my in Ohio when I was visiting my sister and she just yesterday put it in the mail to me. Now I need to get busy with it.

These are charming cards! Beautiful diversion from the “usual” Christmas cards. Sometimes it is difficult to think up ways to make the old traditional santa stuff fresh, but these cards certainly do capture a fresh take on Christmas card-making. Thanks for the inspiration, as always!! (And, stay well!)ReplyCancel
