Waltzingmouse October Release – Preview Day 3

Hi there blog friends!  We are pressing right into Day Three of previews for Waltzingmouse Stamps and I have a couple of super sweet sets to show you.  My cards are made using two sets called Santa is Coming to Town and 2011 Holiday Ornaments.  They both feature ornaments that match with Spellbinders™ 2011 Heirloom Ornaments.  For the first I embossed my ornament with Versafine Vintage and clear embossing powder and colored select portions of the ornament.  I mounted it on a card base made from Spellbinders™ Grand Labels Twenty Three (one of my favorites).  Lastly I added a row of lace and seam binding but before sewing I tucked the border from Spellbinders™ Lace Doily Accents underneath my lace.

I just love the Bazzill buttons, they’re so spar-ka-lee!!  I took a Prima Poinsettia and threaded through it when I added my Bazzill button, just for something a little bit different in the center of my ribbon.  This ornament with Santa is already a favorite with me.

The ornaments in the 2011 Holiday Ornaments set are varied and are a good size, so I decided to make a tall card (fits in a size 10 business envelope).  I gold embossed each of three ornaments that I cut with Spellbinders™ 2011 Heirloom Ornaments.  For the each of the ornaments I attached a Tim Holtz memo pin and threaded seam binding through each loop.  The ornaments all hang from the top of the card and I topped it off with a topper made using Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Three.  At the bottom of the card I added a sentiment using Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners.

Very beautiful and elegant cards, Becca. On the first one I like very much how you put the image of Santa Clause and the sentiment onto that ornament. And the second one with the gold embossed ornaments is just wonderful. And on both cards I also like your embellishments, e.g. ribbons and punched border.

    Kind regards
    CarolaReplyCancel

Not one but two it is difficult To vote for one. I like both. Maybe the long one because I don’t have to do an enveloppe. I am just thinking is it possible for you to show how you make an enveloppe pretty with a detail who match the enveloppe… Merci beaucoup!ReplyCancel

Two beautiful cards Becca. I love the colors chosen. The first one looks very regal to me. I love the shape of the card and how you topped it with the ornament die-cut. The second one is just so delightful. Love the arrangement of the ornaments and the ribbon banner which hold the sentiment. Of course they are embellished so nicely. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel

    Good Morning Becca
Truly beautiful cards. You are so very talented!!
I am sure that you have discussed it before but could you take a few minutes to tell me how you make a CARD BASE with a SHAPED TOP FOLD??? The ornament card looks like it has a scallop edge on the top fold, how do you do that and still keep the fold together???
    Love your work.
    Hugs & Smiles

    Becca,
I really enjoy your blog and have used some of your ideas because they are just beautiful. For some reason yesterday, I was thinking I had not had an email from your blog that you posted and wondered if you were on hiatus or away and was cleaning my inbox email and an old one where i did not deleted was there and I got to your blog wondering again what happened. However you have been going strong. I am glad. So I do not know what happened. I will put my name down again to receive your emails, maybe something happened. Thank you so much for your inspirations and beautiful items. I enjoy getting your email that you have posted. Blessings, GaleReplyCancel

Your cards are absolutley amazing! I just love them! I do have a question, though. Grand Labels Twenty Three does not have rounded corners. How do you round and emboss the corners on the bottom edge? And I’d also like to know how you make a card base with a shaped top fold.ReplyCancel
