Turn Your Face to the Light

Card Making Ideas using Waltzingmouse Stamps - Funky Flowers and Light of the World along with Spellbinders
Good morning friends!  While it is snowing and the cold is closing in, how about a little breath of spring?  Yep, that’s just what I was in the mood for – I rummaged through the goodies I had that I had not used and pulled out the Funky Flowers Set from Waltzingmouse Stamps.  Layering up a filigree frame gave me both a place to perch my flowers and as well as a place to nestle a sentiment from the Light of the World set.  Color inspired by some luscious satin ribbon I picked up on a trip, I matched the color with some of my ink pads and was in business.  I used the Funky Flowers cut files to digitally cut the shape of the flowers and then I stamped on them, then popped a pearl brad in the center.
Card Making Ideas using Waltzingmouse Stamps - Funky Flowers and Light of the World along with Spellbinders (close-up)

Here’s your Step By Step Recap of die cuts and layers, from the bottom up:   Start out with a Card Base  7″ tall by 5-1/2″ wide (or see how to make that size with the Hinge Technique HERE), foam tape, pink matting layer cut to 6-1/4″ x 4-7/8″, cream layer  cut to 6-1/8″ x 4-3/4″, foam tape, green matting layer cut to 5-3/8″ x 4-1/4″, design paper layer cut to 5-1/4″ x 4-1/8″,  foam tape, die cut layer using Spellbinders Filigree Delight, foam tape, die cut layer using Spellbinders Floral Ovals, die cut layer using Spellbinders Opulent Ovals.     Tip –  cut everything first, then stack.  Position ribbon, bow and flowers on correct layer, after everything is situated, then glue!

    Good morning Becca,
What a beautiful card and the ribbon ooooowwww it’s pretty. What a good quality df satin ribbon, as it shows up so well in the photographs. But the card itself is so pretty and because you have used a die to make the base it looks so exquisite and would cost a fortune in a card shop. I just love everything about the card that you have made today ,but will need to save up some pennies to get the stamp and die to make something similar.
    Love and crafty hugs

    Hello Becca
I just adore your Satin Ribbons….. mine don’t seem to shine like the ones you use!
I love the Filigree and use it all the time….. it has become my go too Die when I need a decorative background.
Sorry you have the snow… but I would swop you with the storms, and rain here in the UK…. it seems to have gone on for months now!
We used to have gentle rain but not anymore it is torrential!
Still all the more reason to stay in and craft ..
OOOH! the Sun has just come out !

I couldn’t find a place to comment on today’s post! (Saturday) but I wanted to say that I’ve been through depression – took me three years of antidepressants and counselling to get my husband of 36 years out of my head, since he dumped me – but I did it! 10 years later I am well past him and have a life of my own, even though the so and so moved back into the area to live just 4 miles from me with his much younger wife and young daughter.

Hang in there, ask for help if you need it – I was so close to suicide at the time, and I’d not have the nice life I have now if I had taken that last step.ReplyCancel
