Thinking About You

Hi there blog friends, I know it’s an odd time, I had a card to share with you today and simply couldn’t get back home to hit publish, lol!!  That’ll teach me, I thought I’d only be gone an hour and one hour turned into most of the day.  At any rate, yesterday when I sat down, I wanted to make a complement to the pink card I recently made – something along the same clean lines that with the addition of an inside sentiment might be able to be used for a baby boy card.

I picked a sentiment from Waltzingmouse Stamps from the Fancy Phrases set.

I’ve been dying to use Spellbinders™ Square Swatches — is that not just like scraps of fabic or the charms you buy at the quilt store?  On top of each scrap I mounted two layers of Spellbinders™ Layered Flowers using the tiny gingham for the inside layer of the flowers as well.   I used the fourth quadrant of my card for the sentiment and framed it with Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG and Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM.     Sigh, those flowers are so lacey – love them!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Waltzingmouse Stamps – Fancy Phrases
Paper: Neenah Classic Crest Solar White, Bazzill, Marcella K (gingham)
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – French Blue
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Square SwatchesSpellbinders™ Layered Flowers,  Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG , Spellbinders™ Standard Circles SM, Recollections Pearls, Satin Ribbon, Pearl Pic, Prima mini roses, Epiphany Button Maker

Thanks for stopping in, I’m sure tomorrow will be a much calmer day, so I plan to be back with a post!

    Lovely card, Becca.
I do have a suggeston tho.
When you use those long pins, which you make so pretty, I wish you would glue one more small bead on the sharp end.Sure would hate to stab someone. That could mess up the whole card. ;^( lolReplyCancel

    Hi Andrea,
How are you doing today and how is the pain? I do hope you are able to cope as you await the surgery. Have you any ideas of a date for surgery yet, I pray they do not keep you waiting long.
As to todays card well, it is as lots of my fellow followers have said ‘almost CAS’ It is CAS with a tad extra layers that all isn’t it…LOL!! It is after all a Clean card that is Simply devine and would easily be a baby boy card that any new mother would be so pleased to receive.
    Another Becca NO.1 creation.

Square swatches is one of the dies that I won on Day 6 of the Above and Beyond Frenzy contest. I can see using this die used just as you have, but I am wondering if there are other uses for it. You are just great with manipulating dies in many ways, and I would appreciate seeing if there are other applications for this one that you can see. Anyway, this card is just perfect for a baby boy celebration. Spot on! Your work is fantastic!ReplyCancel

Just received my wonderful paper prize from you, Becca. It was even packaged beautifully! Thank you again. Though this card doesn’t look like a “typical” Becca card, I appreciate very much changing things around, working with different styles, etc. For me, and sounding like others, it takes so much time to think up these beauties let alone the time to make them. Sometimes the time grabber is ink on the hand that smears on a beautiful sentiment that has to be redone. So, to see these pristine cards with no smudges, no little off center things and perfect bows, really, really impresses me, especially when you make so many. Is there a secret I don’t know about to keep accidents from happening? LOL!!!ReplyCancel

  • facsmomFebruary 10, 2012 - 4:45 pm

I can just picture a new mom, overwhelmed by being a mom, receiving this beautiful card and putting it somewhere where she will always see it. I have a folder in “Favorites” that I have labeled “Beautiful”. Is there a card picture in there that isn’t yours? Probably not many. Thank you for blessing us by sharing the beauty you create.ReplyCancel
