Amazing Paper Grace

The ordinary and unexpected gift of stamping

The Simple Things

Posted by Becca Feeken on Friday, June 20th, 2008

Some times simple things are the order of the day.  I wanted to make a simple card and I’m falling in love again with my neglected Cuttlebug backgrounds.   This card fit the bill for me…of all the cards I’ve made since I began blogging, this one was completed the quickest.    The flowers were colored with Tombow markers and took well to the watercolor paper after I made two spritzes of a fine mister.  The sentiment was stamped with a juicy black Versacolor pigment pad. Then the embossed background was offset with a red mat just to give a little bit of definition to the card.  I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Stamps:  Little Yellow Bicycle Delightful Collection; Hero Arts - Sentiment
Paper:  Fabriano Acquarello watercolor paper, red Bazzill
Ink:  Versacolor Black, Tombow Markers
Accessories:  Ribbon, brads, leaf pin

I stop by often to see how my favorite sister is doing. You give me hope that I too can quit a demanding job and live more simply. Don’t stop doing what you do because no one says you are great. Although you are. You are much stronger than that. Know that you are loved by many, envied by others and special to the most important people in your life. I love you.

Wow, this may be the fastest finished card, but in that speed you did not lose any beauty. Becca this is beautiful!

Becca, when I grow up, can I be you? (LOL because I’m now 52!)

Seriously–I love this card! Since I had the ‘Take Time’ stamp, I just had to do a version of it–smaller (A2), in colors I had, and it came out wonderfully.

Your designs, whether exquisitely elaborate, or elegantly simple (such as this one), and FABULOUS!!!!!!

    Hi Becca,
I just discovered your lovely Blog/site while hoping to learn more about the “Big Shot that I just got. Could I emboss that background to make your card using the Big Shot?

    Bless you, sister
