Thank You!

Hello there!!  I do have a card but first I have a quote to share.  I normally put them up in the revolving quotes box on my blog, and I don’t think this one has made it out of my quote journal yet.  I’m inspired by this and I hope you are too.  To me it means, you never know what good things are around the corner…

We must be willing to let go of the life we planned
so as to have the life that is waiting for us.  (E.M. Forester)

So on to my card.  Every month a member of the  Magnolia-licous DT hosts a sketch challenge, and this month I developed the sketch.  I hope you’ll play along by linking your entry at the Magnolia-licious Highlites Blog.  Yep, there are prizes involved.  Here is the sketch.

I turned mine so that I could run ribbon vertically instead of horizontally.  Then I used this sweet little flower girl called Romantic Tilda which you can order or waitlist at Magnolia-licious.  I colored her with Copic Markers and dug into my stash of Basic Grey Wisteria for all the sweet lavender (a color I find hard to use).  It’s so muted in this case that it’s easy to match it with other papers in the stack.  I edged the corner pieces with the scallop from Spellbinders™ Scalloped Edged Frame and embellished one of the corners with the companion pieces from the Spellbinders™ Renaissance Hearts Pendant.  I used one of my many rub-ons with the Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags die for the sentiment along the bottom.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Magnolia-licious – Romantic Tilda
Paper: Basic Grey – Wisteria, GP White Cardstock
Ink:  Memento – Tuxedo Black
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Scalloped Edged Frame, Spellbinders™ Renaissance Hearts Pendant, Spellbinders™ Fancy Tags, Ribbon, Pearls, Embellished Straight Pins

See you soon!!

The quote is very thought provoking. Many times we are disappointed because things in life don’t turn out as “we” planned only to find the journey we were forced to take was exactly what we needed.ReplyCancel

the card is lovely (I still do not own of these darlings)

    but I love the quote…
I had this great plan for the rest of our lives as a family in the late 90’s:
Hubby is 19 years older than I, I knew eventually he would need to retire, and I would have to find a way to make up for his missing salary. I went back to college, got my degree in health care (BS in Diagnostic imaging) My specialty is MRI…it took me 1.5 years after graduating to find a F/T MRI position, most places wanted you to have experience (to me all the hours of clinicals–should count for some experience) I hate when jobs say that, how are you supposed to get the experience if you are never hired to get any? anyway A hospital in Philadelphia said they had now issue hiring me. (I went to college in Philly as well) This was a 2 hour commute (during commuter hours) I told myself my foot is in the door, and I would look for something closer to home, when I had a year under my belt. Well, God answered my prayers, at pretty much the exact year mark( 30 days short) I found the perfect job for me, you had to go to both campuses of the Hospital the one was only 30 minutes away, the other was more like 45-50. but it was also in the same area my husband worked. (this was 2003) (did I say hubby had 2 heart attacks 5 days apart and double bypass surgery in 2001–while I was only working per diem xray) so this was such an answered prayer. Well…best laid plans…in 2005 I was severely injured on the job, and was disabled. My poor husband still has to work. He is 69 in not the best health (diabetes with complications—including heart disease, and diabetic retinopathy…so his vision is going) I am now depressed due to the “LOSS” of my life, job, career…the doctors all say this is normal, and just try to move past it, and not dwell on what was supposed to be…but that is easier said than done, when it affects others. The hubby can not retire til we are out from under this house and mortgage.

I love your quote, and I am going to copy it and print it out, and hang it somewhere I can see it every day, to try to give me hope, that God has another plan for me and us.

    Thanks, SusanReplyCancel
