Sketch and Challenges Journal

I’ve never been able to keep up with all the sketch challenges out there floating around week to week, much less the tiny pieces of paper that I jot down sketches on.  Are you seeing a pattern here?  You got it!  I can’t remember anything unless I write it down.

Ta-da!!!, a new sketch book.  I’ve put together several of these recently, but they did not work out they way I wanted them to.  The last one was too big while the previous one didn’t have enough room to write down the particulars.  So far so good on this design – this is a book that I can take with me or can leave laying open on my work table; it’s not too big and not too small.  At the top is the front cover and the picture below is the inside cover.

I started out with a notebook that I purchased at Target that was 11" tall x 5" wide.   Once I had the size, I drew the two types of pages I wanted in the journal and ran them through my printer, double sided.  Using my Bind-It-All for the first time, I punched the pages.  Then I pried open the o-wires and removed the contents of the notebook, covered the outsides of the notebook with design paper, inserted two dividers and reinserted the o-wire using the Bind-It-All to secure it properly.   The book is divided into two parts – the first for recording weekly challenges and the second part is for my own sketches.  The last embellishment was ribbon, two prima flowers secured by a K & Co button brad and chipboard letters.

Maybe now that  I won’t have to spend too much time spinning my wheels, I’ll get to participate in more challenges!

Wow, Becca, what an organizer you are! That sketch organizer is just beautiful! The applications are endless and I’m thinking it might be nice to do one for DP, a really fast way to look at paper without having to hand sift through it all. The thing would be to attach it with something temporary so it could be removed when the paper is gone. My word, you have got me thinking! Thanks for your inspiring ideas!ReplyCancel
