A Season of Hope

I have one gift left to buy so I sat down for a few to tinker around with some stamps.  I’m happy to be back to share a new card and I’m even happier that it’s a Christmas Card – I’m not even close to having enough but each one that gets done is a triumph.  I love this Impression Obsession image, it’s absolutely lovely and it’s a fabulous size.  I colored it about a week ago and it’s been waiting to land on something.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Impression-Obsession – Chair; Printworks – Sentiment
Paper:  Me and My Big Ideas – Christmas; The Paper Company – Red, Bazzill – Green, 140lb Watercolor Paper
Inks:  Versamark
Accessories:  Black Embossing Powder, MS Border Punch, Fiskars Border Punch. Distress Ink Reinkers, Ribbon,  Pearls

Don ‘t forget, you can enter your name for my blog candy until Monday, December 22 at 9:00am CST.    Be sure to tell me about your favorite Christmas tradition on this post HERE.

Becca, as always a beautiful card, and I can see why you love this image so much. It speaks volumes to me- from the wreath that symbolizes eternity with our Lord to the chair in someone’s home. You can just visualize all the joyful decorating going on in that home :). In case I don’t get a chance to get online between now and Christmas day, I wanted to wish you and your family a very happy and blessed Christmas this year.

    Blessings,
    BarbReplyCancel

Our favorite traditon was to open one gift a week before Christmas. This was always a new Christmas outfit to wear to the Christmas program. The kids knew it was clothes but they were still excited to be able to open a gift. We always traveled on the holidays, so we opened gifts early, cooked homemade pizza and made cookies and punch. We knew we would have plenty of turkey and ham so the pizza was a favorite choice for all of us.

Your site has so much inspiration keep up the great work and congratulations!

I like helping ma’ dear (my grandma) in the kitchen with all of her favorite recipes-red velvet cake, sweet potatoe pies made with fresh Alabama sweet potatoes, coconut cake with pineapple between the layers, pecan pies and meanwhile the hen was boiling for the dressing, she would be singing ole time spirituals that I was raised singing with her on Sunday at church-not to mention every other day of the week. Wow, how I miss Ma dea.

Merry Christmas to the most God-fearing woman I ever knew, MaDea.ReplyCancel

    Hi,
I added my name but did not include a tradition.
Christmas could not be complete until I am able to go to a Christmas Service at our church….Christmas Eve is so special.
Celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ…to praise Him for the love and Hope that He has given to the world.
What a wonderful country we live in to be able to go freely without any fear. God has certainly blessed us.
Merry Christmas to everyone and Blessing for all the best in 2009
