Rogers Gardens Swirl Bliss Page

Scrapbook Page by Becca Feeken using Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket in the Amazing Paper Grace Collection - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Hi there friends.  As promised I’m back with a project that uses my new Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket die from the Amazing Paper Grace Collection.    I wanted to make something other than a card and I think the pockets lend themselves to so many cool projects – a scrapbook page seemed like a good thing to try out.   I talked myself into thinking it was a huge card :-).  Remember, baby steps.  I had just been to Rogers Gardens in Corona del Mar California with two of my sweet friends – Linda Duke and Tosha Leyendekker.   This home and garden destination has exquisite Christmas decorations and room after room of themed displays – we were happy girls and that explains the starry looks in our eyes.

Even though this is pictured from straight on and it’s hard to tell the dimension, I used the pocket die as if it were a cornice and it actually stands out from the page a bit.  By putting another pocket on the bottom it frames the picture.  Then I used the round element to carry embellishment across the page.  I also used Spellbinders Urban Blooms by A Gilded Life  for the spiral flowers and I printed all the memory specifics on Spellbinders Baby Buntings by a Gilded Life.  The tendrils that cascade down from the flowers are from Spellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.

This was a stretch for me but it feels great to try something out of my comfort zone :-)

CRAFT SUPPLIES I USED
Rubber Stamps:  None
Craft Paper:  Neenah Classic Crest 80 lb – Natural White,  The Paper Studio – Burlap Paper, Coredinations
Ink:  Victorian Velvet Distress Ink (on flowers)
Accessories:  Spellbinders Swirl Bliss Pocket by Amazing Paper GraceSpellbinders Twisted Metal Tags and Accents,  Spellbinders Urban Blooms by A Gilded Life,  Spellbinders Baby Buntings by A Gilded Life, Recollection Pearls, Lace, May Arts Silk Ribbon

Thanks so much for stopping by, I’ll have more to share this week.  Happy Monday, I’m wishing you a glorious day!

Oh, by the way – are you sitting for a couple of minutes with your cup of coffee?  I’m gifting you this link to see a three minute video of Rogers Gardens.   Lol, I have to put up a little bit of a disclaimer that I can’t be held responsible for extreme longing, swooning or daydreaming today after you watch :-)   I’ve watched it twice and what a way to start the morning!  Here’s the link ——>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D-lqjKg-g4A

Working on scraping today and what an inspiration to get me motivate to do a couple of layout. They won’t be like this today, but when I see the beauty of what you do, with your beautiful dies ( I started getting them when you had the monthly kits) and the picture of three of my favorite designers. I think you nailed this right on. Stunning layout Becca!!!!!!!!!ReplyCancel

Oh my! The video was beautiful! I have to restrain myself not to buy more ornaments though. I have three trees, all are so packed with ornaments that you can barely see the tree. Hubby had to build me an air conditioned storage room out in the garage to store it all.
Love to see you do scrapbook pages. I really need to retire and devote more time to doing things I love–creating. You are so lucky to have both the talent and time to create beautiful things…ReplyCancel

Great to see you taking steps out of your comfort zone–I think when we always see such beauty in anything you create that we assume it’s all easy for someone like you with so much artistic ability. But it’s not easy for any of us. Thanks for that encouragement, I needed it today… :)

I have never done scrapbooking myself either, only cards and my tiny gallery on SCS (905lovestostamp) is just that, tiny, but I do have a dream of starting my own little blog someday, even if I’m the only one who reads it, it’s OK…. Yours was one of the first I read and I still feel so pleased when I see your blog name in my e-mail inbox. :)

You have done so well in these years since your beloved John went to heaven, and I know it was not at all easy, but you have continued to take steps forward with God’s help and the support of your family and so many who love you. I am thrilled every time I see you have a new die or a new stamp set, and I have bought many of them, bought all of your kits when you had those…

We all have our struggles, mine is a car accident disability that stopped my life cold, I’m so grateful for the hobby of card-making I have when I’m well enough to make one. My cards are simple but what joy in creating one! I thank you for all you continue to teach me… :) It’s so wonderful to see so many fellow believers in card-making, what a blessing!

Just know I am so very proud of all you have accomplished, and I know you will be doing so much more–all with God’s help and blessing.

    Best wishes,

    Joanne LoweReplyCancel

You have a great talent and it shows in all that you create!! I really enjoyed the video you shared as it reminds me of a similar place here in Michigan called Bronner’s. It also is a Christmas wonderland. People have come from all over the world to visit. Looking forward to seeing more of your ideas and have a wonderful rest of your day!!
