Reminding One Another

Hello there friends.  I’m rejoicing because I’ve had a second to take a breath, look ahead and see that January is going to be a phenomenal month!!  Today I have a quick card to share.  I pulled out one of the inspirational sentiments from Quietfire Design and this one fit the bill; it’s called Reminding One Another.  Sigh, when you see words that look so beautiful they need no other picture to bring them to life!!!

As it were, I have been hoarding this beautiful Prima paper since last fall.  My attempts to use it were thwarted by the need to create yet another Christmas card and as you can see there was no way I could get creative and pass that off as Christmas, lol.  Same with the lace; it is Prima and it is at the tippy top of my favorites list (sorry ribbon, I had to give you a break).  I simply stamped the sentiment directly on the the paper so that you can see that lovely flower but the flourishes and such on the sentiment are soooo pretty.  I love this craft!   To hold these things in my hands and make something with them makes my heart sing!!

HOW IT’S MADE

1. Make Card Base – mine is 5½ x 7
2. Layer with paper and mat slightly smaller than base. Adhere with foam tape
3. Layer with paper and mat at least 1″ smaller than previous. Adhere with foam tape.
4. Layer with stamped image.  With foam tape, adhere to top of lower mat to leave room for lace.
5. Adhere lace and roses over the bottom of stamped image layer.
6. Add embellishments.
7. Smile

By the way, the rose trim that I used over the lace on this card was originally white and it met with a tea dying accident ala Becca.  Since it’s made from polyester I didn’t think the tea would set and keep.  Hooo boy, was I wrong.  I walked away for probably about 10 minutes while it boiled and came back to this dark golden brown mess.  I didn’t throw the trim away but I never imagined that I’d be able to use it.  I stand corrected.  There’s a lot to be said for salvaging a wreck  . . or so my heart says, all the time :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Quietfire Design – Reminding One Another
Paper: Prima Design Paper, Bazzill, The Paper Company
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and clear embossing powder
Accessories: Prima Lace, Tea dyed rose trim (Hobby Lobby), heart pins (Joann’s)

I understand what your saying about “your heart sing” when doing this paper crafting. I feel the same way! I have been making cards for years and years and just love how the craft has progressed with all the beautiful lace, flowers, pins, trinkets, cutting systems – all which had to be done by hand 10 years ago.

I am so happy to see that you are surviving and continuing to craft.
