Parisian Ensemble Calendar

Poking my head in here quickly to share one piece of an ensemble I created using Spellbinders Parisian Accents Set.   Over the next week or so, I’ll share additional pieces but this will be the first.  I was pleased as punch with this calendar and it’s probably one of the easiest things I’ve made lately.

I had an 8″ x 8″ black canvas in my stash – white would have worked as well, but I went with what I had on hand.  Also out of my drawer I pulled out a cardboard easel with a sticky back (looks roughly like the cardboard on the back of a picture that allows it to stand upright on its own).  I cut a mat and design paper panel slightly smaller than the size of the canvas.  I then cut/emboss eight of the same piece from the Parisian Accents Set.  They easily link together on the north, south, east and west borders of the piece.  I secured them using small pieces of foam tape.   Somewhere on the internet (slacking on the job – I didn’t write it down) I found these tiny calendars and printed them out.  I finished by mounting the calendar on a small panel of paper and mat in the center of the canvas.  That’s it!

SUPPLIES I USED

Stamps:  None
Paper
: Bazzill, The Paper Studio
Ink: None
Accessories:
Spellbinders Parisian Accents,
Pearls

I hope you’ll peek in later as I post these . . . each piece is so different and so easy!!

  • Jan D.January 20, 2011 - 9:00 am

    This is really beautiful. TFS

Tip when using the Spellbinders that are very intricate and if you use heavy CS like I do is to put a piece of wax paper between the die and your CS. The die cut will come out of the die so much easier. I was tearing up so many of my die cuts trying to get them out of the die that I was about to abandon using some of my Spellbinders. Now I keep a roll of wax paper in my craft studio as a standard supply. Great dollar store purchase.

Thanks, again for all the beautiful projects you share with us.ReplyCancel

  • ChinnuJanuary 20, 2011 - 9:33 am

Absolutely gorgeous, Becca! Can you tell me what foam tape you use for such narrow / intricate die cuts? I’m torn between the Parisian dies and the Floral Doily. Which to choose? Sigh.

Jan D. – thanks for your tip! I’ve ended up with many torn die cuts with some of my more intricate Spellbinders dies. I will try your tip!ReplyCancel

As always I love your work. I was wondering what types of adhesives you use. I always have such a problem when I make things that are moved around very much. I use a glue stick with a brayer when making flat books and that works great , but things that need more strength I have a problem and I do not think you do. Thanks for an answer. JMReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I love lots of dimension and detail and so my favorite thing to collect is punches and dies. I love to layer and offset focal points on my cards. I find that you can use lots of different prints and better still, a monochormatic color scheme if you have interesting cut out and embellishment you always end up with a fantastic project.
Thank you for your wonderful tutorials and beautiful designs. I love love love your work. KathleenReplyCancel
