Our Daily Bread Designs July Release Blog Hop

Welcome to the Our Daily Bread Designs July Release Blog Hop!  We’re mindful as we head into Fourth of July that it’s quite fashionable to be patriotic all year round.  In fact, what sweeter testimony to our patriotism than to honor those who serve and protect our freedoms.  If you feel the same, you’ll love the release this month –  you can see them HERE.  The second I saw them, I knew that they would come in handy for some cards I want to send off to Operation Write Home.  If you are curious you can check them out HERE.  In the meantime, if you got here from Angie’s fabulous blog, you are in the right place!  If not, you might want to start at the Our Daily Bread Designs Blog and hop from there!   If you encounter any broken links – the entire hop list is posted on the ODBD Blog :-)

For the hop particulars be sure to read my entire post, and if you leave a comment here to enter the contest for prizes, please remember that comments entered on my blog may not appear immediately. Please give it several minutes and hit refresh to see your comment.  So for my card today, I wanted to create a frame with this anywhere punch.  I wanted something other than a square card though, so I played with it.  After creating the frame, I left enough room to recess a sentiment.  This is a style that I’m sure I’ll be using again :-)

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Our Daily Bread Designs – Not Forgotten
Paper: My Minds Eye, The Paper Studio, Strathmore
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink, Chestnut Roan
Accessories: Martha Stewart Anywhere Punch – Floral Tile, Pearls, Lace, Ribbon,

Hop Particulars:
The Hop will run from 8:00 am Eastern Time on July 1st until 8:00 pm Eastern Time on July 2nd. The winners will be announced on the ODBD Blog on Sunday, July 3rd. For this special event, there will be FOUR PRIZES. One winner will get the Bread Basket Bundle and the other three winners will be able to select a stamp set of their choice.

How to Enter the Drawing:
*Leave comments for each designer on each blog.
*Return to the ODBD Blog and leave a comment, telling us you completed the hop
*Note any blogs you were unable to comment on.

Your Next Stop:
To move on, your next stop is with the ever creative and delightful Debi Southard!

Thanks so much for stopping by blog friends!! Good luck!!

    Hello Becca,

I’m always inspired by your cards & this one is no exception. Would you please be able to help with a tutorial for how you align this punch in the middle of the page so accurately & consistently on a piece of card stock, both horizontally & vertically. I’ve bought this punch and am able to align it when punching @ corners, because I could see diagonal edge to match, but get stumped when trying to align this in the middle of the page. It seems off most attempts.

    Thank you
    ShilaReplyCancel

Hi Becca, Coming from a family very much involved in military life for several generations, the holidays that focus on our beloved USA are very dear to my heart. God has a plan for each of us and my road has been saturated with many sacrifices made. I love this card because it reminds me that the fight here is not nearly as important as the fight we face every day between good and evil. The time on this earth is so short and yet most of us cling foolishly to it. My prayer is God’s Will Be ……. period….
    God bless …….. DeniceReplyCancel

I had one of my favorite foods tonite. I grow fresh basil and get about a cup of it and a cup of arugula. Chop it fine, squeeze 1/2 lemon over it, drizzle with olive oil (juice must go on first) and add salt & pepper. It is so good on top of a nice steak! Got the recipe from Rachel Ray on TV. I put it on top of lots of things and eat it plain as a salad. A summer special!!ReplyCancel

Love your punched background. I haven’t tried multiple punches yet, but will certainly give it a try. Lovely card.ReplyCancel
