New Poll: What Goes On Behind the Blog

Oh, I don’t know where to start on this one . . . this poll is a little bit of a departure from the generic types of questions I’ve been asking since the inception and I’m going to harness the polling aspect this time to get a little bit of feed back on the content here on amazingpapergrace.  It is inspired by some sweet comments and emails I’ve received lately.

I should mention first that there’s no telling what you will see here – it just depends on my muse.   I may have been hit with an inspiration and I’ve learned to ride with it while it’s running.  So far that has work out well for me ;-)    As you know, I am really wrapped up in my blog and I’m sure I’ve disappointed fellow bloggers as I rarely get out to leave comments or surf.  Moreover, I’ve so fallen down on the job of answering emails and finishing up my 31 Days feature, yikes!!  Truth be known, I’d much rather be in the studio creating and experimenting so that I can bring another tutorial or frugal discovery to the table.  I find I have to allot the time I allow myself to be on the computer and get up and walk away when time is up, lol!

Okay, so let me cut to the chase –  I value you readers and want to continue to provide the content you’ve indicated you like as well as acknowledge things that are important to you but I need to know what they are.  As you can guess I’m quite torn; there’s a finite amount of time I can spend in the combined endeavor.  So yep, I’m asking you!  Please weigh in — I’m curious to find out how important some of these behind the blog tasks are to you as a reader.

ETA: I just wanted to clarify this doesn’t arise out of anything negative that has happened – it’s more of me being conscientious.  I’m so blessed that the people who stop by or send me emails are so friendly and gracious.  Amazing Paper Grace is something that has made me immensely happy, perhaps because I’ve taken it where I want it to go.  So no worries – although it doesn’t take much, I’m all about doing what makes me happy, lol!

Interesting poll! I know you enjoy webcruising as much as anyone. I also have trouble when time’s up because it seems that simply checking out one blog leads to another, then a different link, etc. I still think you should be able to do that without worrying that you’re spending too much time on it. This is how we all learn and grow and we all want you to do that Becca! I guess what I’m saying is that we get what we get, no explanations and no worries! Your work is stellar, and we are lucky to get what we do!ReplyCancel

  • SheinaMay 30, 2011 - 12:24 am

I agree wholeheartedly! I am also NOT a fan of facebook and am completely turned off by social media so anything that I would have to view by going through facebook would not ever be viewed, even though I value your beautiful style and comments and tutorials. I wouldn’t worry about a thing and keep doing what makes you happy, isn’t that why you started blogging to begin with? We are just lucky to get to go along for the ride and enjoy what you share.ReplyCancel

Oh Becca….you are such an inspiration. I love to see your almost daily beautiful card. And I love to read what stamps, punches, nestabilities, & techniques, etc you use. Your videos are fantastic. So if something has to go, let it be the blog….as there are many out there…..but no one, I mean NO ONE makes cards like you. You are the best! Thank you for all you do, it is much appreciated!ReplyCancel

  • Linda HessaaMay 30, 2011 - 12:28 am

Have to agree with Debra!!!! Your work is DEFINITELY STELLAR!!! I like that word!!! STELLAR it is and STELLAR you are Becca. You are truly in a class by yourself. I REALLY don’t know of anyone who can compare to you, your cards, techniques and tutorials are off the scale…….a 50 on a scale of 1 to 10. Look forward to my updates from you EVERYDAY. As a matter of fact……I cancelled most of my other subscriptions………you are the ONLY one I follow anymore. TRULY DEDICATED TO YOU!!!!ReplyCancel

I have to agree with Debra…I would have loved to been able to click more than 1…if I had then 1,2,and 5 would have been what I would have clicked…Maybe if you could add the basics in 1 location add to it as you can or need to…Develope and create more tutorials as needed…habgig out on FB or answering all of your emails or comments is a time waster, as I am told all of the time…But here is better advise…those that like what you are doing will keep following you…ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca.
This is a very interesting poll which I have voted on. I look forward to your post each day and enjoy your tutorials, but I feel that it would be great if you could “get out and comment around some more” to quote you. I have formed so many wonderful friendships because of a two way exchange between bloggers, but always feel that you would not have time to know any of your followers or what we do. I think that you would also enjoy taking some time visiting and checking out the blogs of the girls who come to visit you each day.ReplyCancel

  • Sally GasparriMay 30, 2011 - 12:45 am

It was difficult deciding which activity to vote for. I was torn between the tutorials and showcasing more cards, and I find it interesting that (at present) those are the top two items. That being said I think you should spend your time doing what makes you happy. That is the most important thing you can do for yourself – particularly at this stage in your life. If you want to make cards, make cards. You make the most gorgeous cards I have ever seen so no one should ever tell you to stop. If you derive enjoyment from your blog, by all means work on it. Personally I think whatever you want to do for whatever amount of time right now – whateve makes you happy – do it!!! We will be overjoyed to receive whatever it is you have to offer us because we know it is the best there is – anywhere. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving us so much all the time. We love you!!

I am NOT a facebooker. I subscribe to the blogs I like and have them delivered to my email box. I get backed up on the reading if I am out of town for a week or so. I have a laptop, but if I visit my parents, they don’t have internet, so I can come home to 600 + emails. I am trying to weed out a lot of the junk ones. My taste has changed over the last 6 yrs, and a lot of the ones I had signed up for in the beginning don’t click with me now. I scrapbook mostly and have just recently gotten into mini albums. I love your blog because a lot of the layering and things you use on cards make beautiful scrap pages or pages in a mini album. I just love reading about your day, family and bargains you find and recreate. Just keep on doing what you have been doing.ReplyCancel

  • ChelseaMay 30, 2011 - 12:47 am

As a Becca Addict, I can honestly say I need my “fix” of card or project every day. If you posted new cards twice a day, I wouldn’t miss a single one. But in reality I know you can’t do that so I have to content myself with enjoying the posts when the muse strikes you. I have to say I don’t even care about blog candy. I just want to bask in the magic of your art. I feel privileged to have the internet in this day and age so I can see and be inspired by your work. What a blessing!!ReplyCancel

  • cardchickMay 30, 2011 - 12:49 am

I learn from tutorials…..but a card has to be made in order to make a tutorial…right? how else does one learn as well…I think your doing fabulous as you are lead by the grace of our Lord…… do what inspires you…..and of course we will be inspired too as always :)ReplyCancel

  • Barbara JayMay 30, 2011 - 1:01 am

I could only vote for one category so I said steady stream of cards and ideas. But I also love and value your video tutorials.
Your cards and other projects are an inspiration to me. I don’t buy any Spellbinder dies until I see what you do with them.
I love your video tutorials because they are truly “original” ideas and techniques not someone else’s ideas with a slightly different twist.
I agree that Face book and answering 99% of your emails is a waste of your creating time. I am fairly new to this and I have had no problem finding tutorials and videos on how to do the basic techniques so that would be redundant . For me your site has plenty of features I come to see the creative ideas you offer.ReplyCancel

    Becca,
I love, love, love your beautiful cards, but I also love your tutorials. I’m just a simple card maker but I drool over your masterpieces and they give me ideas of how to use some of the things that I have in different ways. Picking just 1 thing in the poll was very hard for me but I think seeing your cards excites me the most. As far as I am concerned your blog is great, and no matter what you do with it, I will still come here at least once a day!:))ReplyCancel

Maryann, thanks for weighing in. I want to make sure everyone knows that I’ve not received any pushy, unfriendly or demanding requests. I’ve always said that I’m open to ideas and quite a few people share them through email or through comments. I love blogging and am so blessed to have the kindest people stop by. Not looking to make changes but do value what everyone thinks. I stress about some of the things I can’t get to, but from what I’m seeing, that some of these things aren’t really a big deal anyway :-)ReplyCancel

Sweet friend, and yes I considder you as a friend, as I come here every day and have lots of joy from seing, what you´ve been doing since last and watch all your tutorials on different things, which devellop my skills too. It is such a wonderful pleasure all the time, so it is almost like I know you more and more, even we´ve never even talked. One thing is very certain, it´s your blog and it´s your life, so NOONE should tell you what to do and what to show here, that´s entirely up to you. You do what you want and like, and if the muse takes you in a certain direction, that´s what you show, and nobody should tell you otherwise, but just be glad, that you always sooo willingly share everything with us, and allows us to learn about all your fantastic creations, and be able to do the same ourself, that is really amazing. Most other people would have kept it to them self, or charged a lot of money for teaching all these things, but you always share sooo much totally free and even with pleasure, so if anybody don´t think, that´s enough, then they can go to some of the others who´s making classes and pay them to get what they want, cause when you pay, you can maybe order, what you´ll like to have, but when you walk into a place, where all is free, you can´t make demands, but just be happy, that there is still some people in this world, who actually still gives all they have and even for free, and then it´s really rude to start complaining and demanding anything else.
So if it was me, I would just dump that kind of people Becca, cause they´re just jealous and the kind, who just never can get enough, so just ignore them hun.
What I wanted to say with all this is, that you shall ofcause only do, what YOU like to do and what makes YOU happy, as it´s YOUR blog and YOUR life, and I´m very sure, that most of us inhere, is more than happy, that we´re allowed to come here every day and be treated from all your wonderful knowledge and creativity, and I for one sure feel very very blessed, that I CAN Do that, so please Becca, don´t make any changes at all, unless it´s something you do, because YOU want it that way or it makes you happier, but definately not for anybody else. I love to come here every single day and see, what you have to share with us, and I just loves everything I get here, and I always get something from here, and that is really awesome, and not many can give this much to their followers as you do all the time.
Have a wonderful week ahead hun and just be happy okay? Then I´ll look forward to come again and see, what you have for us next time.
Take care dear friend and stay happy, that´s all that matters.ReplyCancel

My vote is alot like which came first the chicken or the egg? The cards you create are what inspires you to showcase techinques in your tutorials. Without the inspiration there would be no tutorials. They go hand in hand when something comes up that touches and inspires you. Your AmazingPaperGrace is your Journey, Becca and we all have the pleasure that you share it with us so wherever your journey goes, so too, go I. Do not worry about what we like and focus on what you like and where you feel led to go. I visit here every day or play catch up as often as possible if I miss a day or so. I go here because it is one of my “Favorites” even tho I have an e-mail reminder it is not necessary.
    Thank you for being you!

I so look forward to seeing everything and anything you share Becca. Your talent and the fact that you share it with us is truly amazing and I look forward to your creations whatever you do. The words Amazing Grace sum it all up for me, for that is what you truly have. I think that going down whichever path each creation takes you is so important. You do anything that makes you happy, I’m just happy to see it and learn so much from you.

Becca – Thank you so much for sharing your talents with us all – I am hoping that you are not getting discouraged by any nay-sayers out there, folks telling you how to spend your time! The reason I love your blog is that you are just straight forward all the time. You are most generous with your time and your efforts and we have all benefitted tremendously for it. Personally, I have stopping subscribing to blogs which have turned commercial – always promoting another sneak peak of their stamps/products. I have kept on with your blog because you are just basically sharing your “craft”. I totally agree with Facebook not being important. I guess what I am saying is that I have appreciated your dedication to the simplicity of blogging!ReplyCancel

I believe we all start this journey of blogging and sharing to make ourselves happy, without sounding too selfish, when it becomes a bind, i.e: having to visit others and leaving comments or else! do we really wanna be doing this?
This is supposed to be like therapy, sharing and enjoying what you love, so for me as long as you enjoy what you are sharing then keep doing it!
I love the fact that you post tutorials and are forever sharing anything new that you have learnt. I am not a social network kinda girl and truthfully dont like FB. I follow you in my reader and when i see you have a new post i pop in for a visit. Just keep doing what you do, thanks for the sharing, you obviously have been doing something right with all the visitors that you get.

  • Glenda DopkingMay 30, 2011 - 4:18 am

Becca keeping yourself happy is priority ONE! Without happiness, creativeness goes steadily downwards. I LOVE Becca Bits. The series you did on Right Angle Punching brought a tear of joy to me and the dust off my punches. You don’t seem to favor any one stamp company but feature everything that is hot in the market at the same time. Since my happy accident of finding you I have found that you eventually get around to my “how’d she do do that” questions even. I can never imagine how you would possibly keep up with answering the enormous amount of emails I imagine you must get, as much as you might love to. Smurfing this world wide web can take away huge chunks of time before you even realize it is gone, as you well know. If that happens to you every now and then and you get your “fix” be happy and don’t get down on yourself for that.
I truly believe, in the end, what makes you happiest will be best for you and that will keep all your fans happiest.
Your muse, wherever it happens to take you that day has proven to provide us with the beauty, detail and embellishments that we would not otherwise see. Well I think that’s enough said!

    Hi Becca

I am not a big blog lover really, there are only a few I regularly follow but yours is top of the list. I live in England and love to see the new spellbinders on your blog to get a taste of what is to come. You are such an inspiration to me and I regularly tell fellow crafters about your blogs. I was even at a demo yesterday when one of my fellow crafters showed the demonstrator how to do a ribbon bow and guess whose blog he got it off? Yes you’ve guessed it, yours! I love when you share bits about your life…I don’t want you to feel you need to be “cranking out” cards and tutorials like a factory, because, as much as we all enjoy them, your true gifts from God are showcased when you are doing something YOU enjoy. Though my cards aren’t ever exquisite like yours and I can’t afford to buy many stamps, spellbinders, etc., I draw a ton of inspiration and ideas from your blog and always leave feeling blessed. The polls are great, except for this one! Your Blog is perfect, as are you. The only change I would wish to see is the “plan” to shorten the 31 days tips to the 31 best. I’d leave each one as it is- the “best” idea is, of course, the one I haven’t thought of yet. Even the double/quadruple tips are interesting in their different descriptions of the same thing and just go to show you how valuable a tip can be. Sorting the tips out and deleting some of them would be a waste of YOUR precious time. Please continue to take very good care of yourself!

It’s funny, because I was thinking about you and your dedication before I turned the computer on this morning. If you feel you need to do something more, maybe just pick 1 comment randomly each day and reply to it. We would all feel really special to get a personal line from you. May I just ask a favor? If you could just give us an idea of how a card goes together for you. How you decide what kind of spellbinder dies you are going to use, the paper choices (how do you know what goes with what), and what is the general size of each card you make. I guess that would be a tutorial all in itself, wouldn’t it? I am always inspired every time I come by your blog. I just know you are Amazing Paper Grace and I thank God for you everyday!ReplyCancel

Just from reading the last few comments above me I was going to wright the same thing….I too have learned SO much from visiting your blog daily and look forward to it each morning… Never will I become as gifted as you but you diffently draw the best out of me to try new things. And again like all of us are saying; This is your Blog, do what makes you happy at that point in your life. Don’t forget to stop and smell the flowers everyday!ReplyCancel

Becca, I love your blog just the way it is. I like facebook to keep up with friends activities but not for stamping sites. I much prefer to go to a blog. I look forward to seeing what you have posted each day. I love the personal glimses you give us into your life, too. Your talent is the best and I get so much inspiration from it.ReplyCancel

I learned about your site in a card class I was taking. The bows were the big topic so I looked you up and subscribed – that was at least 5 years ago. No one else comes close to your creativity and you are the one I watch for ideas. Don’t change and don’t try to do it all. I think tutorials are good for the harder cards (like the birdcage) or a brand new technique. I read the prvious comments and it sounds to me like you are doing what is right. Do what makes you happy – it is making us happy.

I just love your work, how you teach and I have just learned so much from you!!!!! To me the most important thing is your teaching. I would love for ya to drop by and comment and see ya on FB yeah, but….I know you are busy and that being busy brings more knowledge to me. Does that make any sense LOL You do a wonderful job!!!!!! God has blessed you with so much talent and I get the benefit of all your talent through you teaching, thanks!!!!ReplyCancel

I agree with many of these ladies. Your work is ALWAYS amazing & we are very privileged that you share it with all of us. I only started making cards a few years ago, but I have grown SO MUCH from enjoying your work which gives me such terrific incentive to be creative. Creativity for all of us comes from a special place & you are blessed with a talent that God wishes for you to enjoy & share WHEN you can. The most important part is “for you to enjoy your talent” & the sharing is best when it is good for you. We are all blessed with a talent of some kind & HE wants us to share that with many. But, He also wants us to be happy. I feel you must do what makes you HAPPY. We will enjoy what you “can” share & we will understand what you do not have time enough for. I learn SO MUCH from your tutorials & from all your wonderful creations, but that would not happen if you were not “happy” in doing it. Therefore, I wish for you to do what is BEST for you & we will learn from your choices. Thanks for your generous giving. (I, personally do not do
Facebook & very few other blogs, so that would not be what I would follow.) PatReplyCancel

    Becca,
I too check your blog every day!! Your cards make my heart beat faster as I see all the beautiful creations the Lord gives you!! And when you post a tutorial it is an added bonus!! I say stop “worrying” about what we want or even what you want….as you know, you’ll be happiest doing whatever HE wants you to do!!! And by the looks of your work….that’s what you’re doing!!! I read you EVERY day and am so thankful that you give us so much for free. I seriously get excited everyday to see what the Lord has enabled you to that day!!! LOVE you and your work…..enough said!ReplyCancel

Becca, We drop in to see what you have made. To read what is on your heart for the day. We are brought to you by what you post from the love you have and share with the passion you show in your crafty. Whatever you have to post is all we can ask for. It is your blog. Don’t make it a “have to make everyone happy” situation. We have all fallen in love with you. Be yourself. That is why we are here. You make our hearts and spirit happy. And even closer to God. Awe Becca, You are so thoughtful to ask this question. As you always are. You question is kinda of like asking which part of Christmas do you like best and want more of. But I have to admit, I love your tutorials best. You speak slow enough for me to take notes and fast and clear enough to get right to the point. Your tutorials are very comprehensive but easy to understand.
I do however, enjoy your little behind the scenes explanations of what you do with all your cards and how you package and mail them. And your organization tips and Becca Bits. I also love hearing if you got featured in magazines so I can look for you. And I do look for your work in every one of them.
    Thanks for the neat poll.

  • Ann GMay 30, 2011 - 7:44 am

Becca, your work is beautiful and I would be content just to view the cards and projects you make each day. I think the reason most people want more tutorials speaks to the lack of time and/or opportunity and/or money many people lack to take a class or learn a technique. I know where I live on Long Island (NY) so many stores closed and there are about two places to take a class. In years past, there were many others! So sad. It is tough here for many store owners competing with Michaels, AC Moore and Joannes that we are also lucky to have all over the island. But, they, too, do not offer classes. That combined with the lack of time to attend whatever classes are offered make it very difficult to learn. So we turn to our blogs which really give us so much in the way of inspiration and direction. Whatever you are able to share with us is so very much appreciated. You should be having as much fun as we are and if not, something needs to change. Thank you!ReplyCancel

I love when you share where you’ve found good bargins for some of your supplies. But in the long run, you need to do what is best for your – you have to please yourself first. Only you would think to ask us these questions. I found this a very difficult pole. Although I love your tutorials I said steady stream of cards and ideas but only because that is what you seem to enjoy most. I think you should spend your time doing whatever makes YOU most happy. Honestly you don’t owe us a thing. Everyone who comes to your blog is blessed with anything and everything you share with us in which ever way you choose to share it. You are ‘Stellar’ in bringing to your blog a steady stream of exceptional talent, insight and down to earth views along with beautiful works of paper art. I feel I could just ‘stop by your home’ and be comfortable just chatting away. I have learned so much from what you have shared here. As some have written, you are a wonderful ‘teacher’. Also, I do not have facebook or twitter. Just maintaining a blog is enough for me! I look forward to seeing your creations. All your tutorials and little ‘Becca’ bits are great. I think you should do whatever makes you happy. If you create a card or technique and share it with us, we are blessed. If you want to take the day off to do something else, who are we to complain?? That would be immensely selfish of us. Your work is inspirational and beautiful. Never give it up.ReplyCancel

  • KraftyauntMay 30, 2011 - 8:34 am

Thanks for being so considerate and asking our opinions… I’d say go with what makes your heart and head happy. When you’re doing something that you love and enjoy, then that will come through to us!

Personally, I don’t use social media and I actually learn better from being able to view still shots/photos – not video tutorials. My connection speed for the computer is slow so trying to watch something that moves on the screen is cumbersome and discouraging. I love to see your actual cards and the basic ingredient list.

Just photographing and setting up your narrative is time consuming; so I can’t imagine how much time it takes to post, blog surf, explore for yourself, create videos, etc. Crafting and maintaining a blog should be fun for you – so go with what makes you the happiest! We’ll love it no matter what!ReplyCancel

Your blog is what inspires me to try new things. I’m more of a straight line, symmetrical (to a fault) person, and you inspire me to add lace and bows and more layers than I ever thought I would! I didn’t vote on the poll–because there wasn’t a space for KEEP DOING WHAT YOU’RE DOING–that would be my choice. There are days that I open up your blog and you just blow my mind away with the beautiful creation you’ve done!

As far as Facebook, I know I have my blog linked to that via Networked Blogs–and when I put up a new blog post, it automatically shows up on Facebook, too. Maybe that would work for yours, also?

Overall–just keep on keepin’ on. You are one of the most talented cardmakers I’ve seen, and I enjoy all you create. Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Wanda ThomasMay 30, 2011 - 9:02 am

How sweet of you to ask. I hope the results won’t see you giving up one activity for another – maybe just changing the proportionate time if you do anything. You blog rates a 10 on a scale of 1-10. It is always updated. Material information is concisely placed and the instructions are perfect. You do a tutorial when it seems necessary and you are true to your art. Please don’t let a few unhappy campers change you in a negative direction. And remember too, there are probably 3 people who look for every one that comments – count the silent majority as well. They wouldn’t keep coming back if there were problems.

As far as social media and e-mail. I don’t expect Martha Stewart to answer my e-mail or chat with me on Facebook and I personally think you have more to offer than she does. That’s the price of “fame” and you are famous. I don’t think there’s a stamper out there that doesn’t know “Becca.”

    Keep up the good work…..ReplyCancel

  • LuMay 30, 2011 - 9:08 am

Becca, I said add more features and tutorials, but do whatever YOU need to do to inspire you because I know when something is fun to me and I run it in the ground it becomes trudgery. Every time I log on and see an email from you I get excited and immediately that is the first thing I look at. So, please do whatever you enjoy first and foremost because I think that will show on your blog and your cards and you always sound so enthuastic. Just don’t do anything to change what you enjoy!ReplyCancel

  • KarenMay 30, 2011 - 9:27 am

Everything you share is GREAT! I look forward to seeing your cards every day. They are so beautiful, always. And I always get ideas when I see them. This is certainly supposed to be a way for you to share what YOU love and want to share, so that is the priority. But I must confess, my selfish nature wants to get info I can use, too. So, I voted for the tutorials, because then I am sure I get as much as possible from your brilliant ideas. But anything you share is certainly valued. Thanks for your generosity.ReplyCancel

Becca I think anything you share with the rest of us will always be useful. I have only recently discovered your blog, and am so enjoying it everyday. Your creations are totally awesome. So just the fact that you are sharing a little bit of yourself with us everyday is great. Please continue as you have been, because what makes you HAPPY, makes the rest of us HAPPY, too!!!!!! :) Blessings………ReplyCancel

Becca, dear – there’s not much more to say that hasn’t already been said. But I’d say, don’t change a thing. We all follow you because we LOVE what you do. Your work is so beautiful and YOU are an inspiration. I have learned so much in the short time I’ve known about you. We all feel like we know you because you share more than cards with us – you share your life. We hope that you get as much from us as we get from you. Please, don’t change. Do what makes you happy – don’t stress. The Lord has blessed you with a talent and we are all so blessed that you share it with us!ReplyCancel

  • Linda MayMay 30, 2011 - 9:58 am

Becca, you have a wonderfully creative gift which you freely share, and we love you for it. I think people have voted for your tutorials because they are so well done…and we learn so much from them. We are also inspired by each of your cards and find the other blog items interesting. Do what makes you happy, omit the rest of it, and your faithful following will certainly benefit from that.ReplyCancel

Not that I’m an expert at this and I may be totally wrong (I often am!) … but I wonder if you miss that look on people’s face as you’re presenting. It gives one a sense that one is either reaching folks or boring them. I surf quite a bit and believe me I’m always surprised at the number of comments you get from your creations (and believe me well deserved!). I think you should continue to do what makes you happy. I also think in general surveys are a bit hard to answer because there may be two options that could answer the question and when one is forced to provide only one I’d rather not answer the survey rather than give a wrong impression. I love your blog as it is, you give us a good mix of tutorials, tips, things to ponder, new ideas and many times a different way of looking at things. I always love seeing your cards, but if you don’t have one I enjoy reading about your adventures to craft stores or just a new idea you came up with, or something you’re working on. Tks for sharing with us! (sorry for the long post!)ReplyCancel

  • Millie SpeckMay 30, 2011 - 10:00 am

I love your blog. It is like an oasis that I check into frequently. Looking for inspiration sometimes, or a tutorial that shows a little less expensive way to do something. I love the bows and tutorials. My DH really made me one of bow makers and I can actually make a decent looking bow. I enjoy seeing how you have combined colors and patterns and textures. I am very pattern challenged so I am starting to break out and use some patterns too.I guess the bottom line is that what makes you happy probably makes all of us happy too. Your happy translates into your work, which in turn inspires and blesses us, which then makes us happy too. Now how can you beat that. Hugs from Nebraska.ReplyCancel

  • Elaine H.May 30, 2011 - 10:07 am

I did not vote because first of all it is your blog and you should do it the way you feel led to do it and be true to yourself.
I think that is the main reason behind having a blog… to express yourself.
It is absolutely wonderful the way it is anyway. Just continue to be fueled by your amazing creativity and it will not lead you wrong.
I will add though that I don’t care at all for Facebook however you should do whatever you want to.
I think you are immensely talented. I look forward to seeing what you create and am always deeply impressed.
I appreciate you sharing with us like you do and most of all I appreciate your love and devotion to God.ReplyCancel

Becca I visit your blog everyday, your cards are true inspirations. I have a facebook page, but rarely use it. Even as a blog reader I have limited time to spend on the computer, so I am picky about the blogs I visit, as I am sure is the case for most of us. I come to your blog because of what you offer – a true generous heart, a creative genus, a kind sharing spirit, a Godly women. There are times when I try one of your marvelous tuts, and just can’t wrap my mind around a concept in that case I’ll ask a question or send an email, but I’m not offended if I don’t get an answer, I know your a busy lady. I love your blog and appreciate all you do. I wouldn’t change a thing, Thank you.ReplyCancel

I love getting my coffee and seeing what card you’ve put out there for us each day ( Sunday are Becca days here, where I look at your cards and try to make one so You have a day named after, you should be a Holiday)
It brings me great peace of mind even if there are a few words under my breath as I try to make them lol but I love every min. of it . Do what feels best for you, FB I don’t like , and I too although very nice of you “blog candy” isnt an important issuse with me to follow you. Cards are my number one thing I like form you all though a card does come along that I can’t figure out like the “bird cage” that pops out of the litte box a tutorial for that would be Awsome !
Do what you love the most and the rest of us will follow we’re here to offer you what ever you need in support. I have other blogs I go to when I’m looking for something but I never miss a day with you been visting you since you started and your our cyber .friend so missing coffee with you throws off my day.So I voted for “Showcase a steady stream of cards and projects” I know though that one card can take hours even a day to make so don’t worry about showing a “steady stream”
We love you Becca so only do what you can and what makes you Happy .ReplyCancel

Yours is the first and only blog I have ever followed. I have visited some but not regularly. I love your style of cards and think I have improved my cards and have had a lot of fun working with ribbon in new ways. I appreciate so very much the manner in which you are handling your grief with courage and strength. My husband is in the late stages of dementia and I don’t always display those qualities. Your example helps me to keep moving. it would be so easy to just sit and stare into space. Instead, I keep working on my craft and buying new spellbinders and stamps. It’s amazing how many one can want. Thank you again. JudyReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I, like so many of your readers visit your blog daily and it ALWAYS brings a smile to my face. I am truly in awe of you and your most beautiful work. You have inspired so many people, not only with your beautiful works of art–but with your spirit and strength and hope. We are the ones that are blessed for having you in our lives. I have learned so much from you and your awesome tutorials. Things that I would never ever try, you show how to do it and do it beautifully ( and you always give super tips too).. I say, let all the Facebook people come here, to your fantastic blog. It is perfect and I like “sharing” a little part of your life. God is good and has placed your right where you need to be for now, with us.

Like you, there is not enough time to do all I would love to do. I love your cards, your videos are fun to watch (lots of ‘Duh’ moments in those :D ), your thrifty tips are so helpful and your polls are fun.

I have a facebook page, so I can see what my kids are up to. I rarely post.

I have to say, stay with what you are doing. Your blog is an inspiration and I appreciate the time you share with us. I may not always leave a comment but I do enjoy my time with you. Thank you.ReplyCancel

I’m with the top 60% who love your tutorials and ideas! It looks to me from the poll that you are doing exactly what the huge majority of us are hoping for, and you do it so well. That is what attracted your loyal following and seems to be “who you are” so I don’t think you need to worry about changing a whole lot. We love you just the way you are.ReplyCancel

I LOVE how you share your BEAUTIFUL CREATIONS, your tutorialsl, your giving us ways of doing things cheaper…. You’re SO INSPIRING!!!!!! I look for your blog everyday!!!!!!!!!!!! In the long list of emails that come through, yours is the FIRST I go to!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing with us ALL of your knowledge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I feel like I can make nicer cards… because of YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!! Keep up the GREAT work!!!!!!!!! HUGS!!!!!!!! :) ( Here’s a question, maybe one you can’t answer, but here goes! I can’t get to the craft store very often, being they’re so far away. I also find the plates for the cuddle bug to warp quickly, eventhough I use both sides…space my cuts out…. Hey Becca!
I try not to fill up your blog responses to often, that is a lot of reading and that coupled with email gets to be very much too time consuming, taking time away from the one thing we all love ~ the Creation of Cards. The constant flow of people through your blog will always be high because you have an immense amount of talent that everyone enjoys. You express your care for us as you share in your tutorials, but none of it is worth anything if you aren’t allowed to do what you do best ~ create. I stop by at least once a day and sometimes more when I am looking for something I am sure is in your archives, but I would be happy if you just posted the cards and gave a vague idea of the contents you used. All the rest is just icing on the cake. Two years ago, I got so caught up in the computer aspect of life that everything else suffered. Finally I said enough, I limit the amount of time actually spent on the puter and create with lots more time and ease. It is a precious gift to have back. My jubby says he can tell the difference as well, he said I stopped singing when I was occupied on the computer, and I am back to singing again. Let yourself sing Becca, give yourself the time you need, we will be very happy with whatever you put out. God has blessed both you, and us to have you. Enjoy the blessings, go create.ReplyCancel

In answering your poll, I was torn. I did check the one for more tutorials, but I love seeing a steady stream of your beautiful cards. Often seeing them is enough. Once you’ve done the “thinking out of the box” for me, I can figure out how to do it. I’m pretty good with the mechanics. It’s the creative that you have that I am lacking. Thanks for asking! :o)ReplyCancel

  • Liz S.May 30, 2011 - 12:44 pm

Becca, your cards are wonderful and I really appreciate that you have one showing most every day! Also, love the blog candies you offer. Would like to know how you get your card layers to look so smooth (no buckling), and how you make your pins? What products do you use for pop dots and pins? If you’re looking to expand, would love to see more colored up stamp images or digitals. Just my humble opinion – I know you promote Spellbinders but my opinion of them is that they are pricing themselves out of business. The dies have gotten ridiculously expensive and I quit buying them and believe me, I have all of them up to the latest release when I decided enough was enough with Spellbinders. Not to mention, they don’t respond to emails. Hope you’re having a wonderful holiday.ReplyCancel

Don’t change a thing. I think that is why I like your blog. It’s beautiful to look at, informative, it instructs and we can feel what your heart it saying. Crafting and being creative takes alot of time, getting on the computer can become very consuming and not always constructive. Before you know it, you can waste hours by looking at things on the computer. Do what your heart tells you to do. I wish there were more blogs like yours. Sincerely, CindyReplyCancel

I love your tutorials and seeing your beautiful cards every day. That is good enough for me. I also am one of those that do not do Facebook and I also dislike bloggers that beg for comments. I never leave a comment when they beg for them. To me that’s like begging for a gift or a compliment and that just isn’t good manners. I limit my internet time because I have too many other more important things that need my attention that I do not want to neglect. Leave your blog as is for now would be my opinion. It’s the right combination for most everyone.ReplyCancel

You are already so generous with your time, energy, tutorials, tips etc. etc. I am just so happy to have found your blog – I’ve learned so much but mostly I just drool over your fab work. I wouldn’t wish your hobby to become a burden to you, so, you MUST do whatever gives YOU most satisfaction and joy. Those social media sites don’t interest me – I’m a greedy blog hopper addict!

I wouldn’t suggest you do anything except what pleases YOU – ‘ cause that’s proven to be what pleases me…otherwise I wouldn’t be here. I would suggest that you NOT ‘get out and about’…that chews up an awful lot of time that would be more beneficially used in creating (trust me, I know). You seem to strike a good balance already of sharing with tutorials and giving your readers what they ask for. Three Cheers for Becca – just the way you are!!!ReplyCancel

I have to admit I do not put the ribbon on the things I do because I mail most of my stuff to my family out of state so with postage being what it is, you know what I’m saying. Anyway this is your blog do what makes you happy, I make cards and scrapbook because it makes me happy if I had to do it for a living I would probably grow to hate it or maybe just not enjoy it so much – this is a fun thing so have fun and we will have fun along with you.ReplyCancel

I am having a hard time voting on a specific item in this new poll, Becca, dear!! I can say – don’t fret about facebook or ‘getting out and comment more’. So – I can tell you what is not important to me, however, I can’t limit what is important to me (from your list) to just one thing. I am in agreement with others – this is YOUR blog and you need to continue to do what makes you happy – then we’ll be happy because you’re happy and when you go with your muse, then we all benefit. If we get too much of a good thing, then you might wear out – so pace yourself – allow us to give you love comments – and bask in our care for you.

I don’t do Facebook, etc. so I was extremely happy to see that so far no one else was interested in Facebook! LOL! I subscribe to quite a few cardmakers blogs and I do that because I want to learn new techniques and be inspired in my cardmaking. Just my preference, but I’d much rather spend my free time looking at cardmaker’s blogs and learning things than anything else other than making cards myself. While I do get on Facebook it is mostly my friends and family….don’t spend much time there.

    Becca…
I love your Becca Bits and tutorials. I love your Mandela’s the round things you do with punches and the punching that you do when you demonstrate to us. I’ve learned a lot from you. Your an artist..no doubt about it. I love the way your showing us in your cards how to layer and put so many designs together with layering and how you do the bows and your sentiments. I just love everything about your cards. I love it even more when you teach us with your tutorials and Becca bits. Your so generous with you knowledge and skill. I want more more…more of the same..The way you do it is perfect for me. I’m being exposed to things I’ve never thought of before or even tried. Your teaching me how to use my punches. Spellbinder dies and just tools that I didn’t know what to do with them.

Please express yourself..this is what is great..when you create and express yourself we all learn from that. When you do a video or tutorial your helping us even more as some of us learn best by seeing. Seeing the execution of your projects is the best of all.
Your the best Becca and thank you for giving your best to us.

I think of you as one of my teachers. I hope you keep teaching us all for as long as you want to do it. Keep turning out your fantastic original cards.

Love it all just the way you are.

What a testament to your faith and the talent with which you have been blessed. I look forward to seeing what you present in the coming days.ReplyCancel

I agree. I would have clicked 1 and you, making a steady stream of cards, also. I am able to create some beautiful cards by looking at your creations and then following your tutorials. The basics are always important also. I look forward to your blog every day. Knowing how much time it takes to keep up with the blog and everything else, I would understand that you need to narrow it all down. We enjoy everything you do, Becca and we are grateful for it all, but, there are only so many hours in the day to work on the computer. We’d much rather see your beautiful cards. They are such an inspiration.ReplyCancel

Dear Becca…we love your blog not only for the wonderfully creative and inspirational cards you share with us but also for you being so generous in sharing a bit of yourself with us EVERY DAY! I start my day with your blog and a cup of coffee and just love knowing you will be there to creatively set the tone for the rest of my day. Please do what makes you happy! Those of us who look forward to our daily dose of Becca do so because we love what you share with us…be it another beautiful card, a Becca bit or any of the other wonderful things we find here. I wholeheartedly agree with an earlier post…”if it ain’t broke don’t fix it”. Thank you for being you.ReplyCancel

Darling Becca, this is YOUR blog, you should do what makes you happy otherwise it becomes drudgery and you won’t have fun. i feel privledged that you allow us to see and share so much of yourself as it is. i come to your blog daily because i feel connected to you and frankly because of the art you make.. it is always stunning. so let go of whatever expectations you feel you owe us, we are lucky to get inspiration, tips, ideas from you. do what makes you happy, if a reader doesn’t like it , they don’t have to read you imho. God bless you

Becca this is your blog that we all come to see because we like what we see here….if we didn’t, you would not have the following that you have. Life is so short, so if I were you I would do what makes you happy and are comfortable with. You are such an inspiration to us all, so whatever you do we will be happy with.

    Dearest Becca,
I am going to echo much of what has already been said. You are truly a special soul and that you are so giving and sharing with your “amazing” talents is a GIFT to us all. I must tell you that yours is the only blog I devoutly visit every day! You are such an inspiration and I believe that is so because you are doing what makes you happy…you must listen to your muse always. We come here to be a part of your world, to feel your kindness and friendship while learning amazing things…for however long you choose to offer your blog to us we will follow :D
    With love and hugs,

Becca I stop everyday to check out what wonderful creations you have done…with the exception of holidays.. as it’s a crazy time during those. But i enjoy seeing a great new card each day…or project. But I will say that your tutorials have been wonderful and i am always pleased to see one of those… In the end, however, I think we all excel at what we are enjoying the most… so that said, I think whatever you enjoy the most gives us the best end project! Just know you have been doing a fabulous job!!!!ReplyCancel

  • Betty GoodsonMay 31, 2011 - 12:56 pm

That was hard……to pick just one. I love seeing a new card or project everyday, it really makes me want to create something….anything. But if you don’t have time in your studio to just create, you’ll be unhappy. I love all the tutorials even the ones you say are sooooo easy that blow my mind. You may not need to visit other blogs for inspiration as you seem filled with your own, but I’m always grateful for your linking us to others as I need lots of inspiration. The blog hops allow that, but I certainly can get behind on other things if I allow it. We thank you for all you give now and will continue to be grateful for what we get.ReplyCancel

Becca, your cards are SO gorgeous! I love your creations and know it takes valuable time to make them and share them with us. I really appreciate the tutorials. I love learning new ways of crafting and you seem to always share something I’ve never thought of before. We never want your blog to feel like a chore, so please share what you have time for, but most of all leave time for yourself to enjoy life! You must keep important things a priority. After this life, that’s all that really matters!ReplyCancel

I visit your blog almost everyday and sometimes more than once. I love all you do and just love your creativity. I love the cards and use your ideas. The tutorials are also a big plus because I have learned so much from you. Keep doing what you love to do because I believe that if things are not enjoyable then one cannot give it their best!!ReplyCancel

Becca, Your cards, tutorials, storys etc. are what I look forward to every day when I visit your blog. I think the blog reaches more of us and allows you to post cards, tutorials etc. Facebook and twitter leave a lot to be desired as far as content is concerned. On the blog, you can go into as much (or as little) detail as you want. Answering emails…hmmm. Please continue to do what makes you happy, most of us will follow you wherever you are. You are very much loved, personally and creatively. God has blessed you and he blesses us with you. Thank you.ReplyCancel

love the vintage look, as always a must do card.
I voted for you to do what you love and that for me cards were more important than the videos but I just gotta ask if there is any way to get the “how to” on your card you did with the bird cage I got the bird die from spellbinder so I could make this for my mother in law but I just can’t tell from the picture how you got it to come out of the box. would like any help on this so I can make it for her birthday this month .thanks again for all you teach us.ReplyCancel

I like all your cards, but I guess I enjoy the tutorials the most as you have such a great voice and are so good at showing us how you do whatever you’re doing/making. Thanks for everything. EdnaReplyCancel
