My Highest Aspirations

Hi there blog friends!! I didn’t make it back yesterday in time to put up a Becca Bit, but I may have some luck today. In the mean time I have a card to share in the same shabby chic mode that I’ve been in as of late. The sweet sentiment is one from Serendipity Stamps that I’ve had in my stash for probably more than 10 years. It’s noteworthy that it is just as inspiring to me today as it was back then :-)

By the way, we are rock and rolling on the What’s The Difference Blog Candy. I’ll give you a little hint – I intentionally started out slow so that people who had not read the email would have time to jump in. We are on our way though. I asked before, please don’t list the change in your comment!!  If you have not read the rules for the blog candy, I’d appreciate if you’d take a second to scan them HERE.

By the way, today I’m listening to the closing arguments on the Casey Anthony case.  My heart just breaks for that little girl and I’ve prayed over the outcome.  I just hope that the truth will prevail so that that sweet baby can rest in peace.  Listening to the details of the case sure make you wonder.  I can’t even put it into words because it is so heartbreaking.

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps: Serendipity Stamps – Faraway
Paper: The Paper Company, Bazzill, Digital Papers from Etsy
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black and Clear Embossing Powder
Accessories: Spellbinders Labels Sixteen, Spellbinders Floral Doily Accents, Eyelet Lace, Doily, Button, Satin Ribbon, Pearls

Hugs to you friends!!  I’m blessed every day that I get to spend crafting with you!!

I agree about the court case. I can’t imagine how anyone could hurt a child. But a mother, father, or any other family member, is way beyond my ability to understand.ReplyCancel

Stunning card! I, also, have been praying that justice will be serve in the Casey Anthony trial but if it is not we know that God will make someone to answer for this sweet little girl’s death. We have a young couple at church who cannot have children and due to medical issues are unable to adopt- they would give anything to have the opportunity to have a child so this trial has really weighed on their minds and souls.ReplyCancel

  • DeniseJuly 3, 2011 - 12:00 pm

Beautiful card Becca. God is the only one that knows who is responsible for this precious little girls death & I hope they come to a decision soon, so she can rest. I have 2 beautiful little granddaughters & if anything happened to them, for sure I would find who did it to them & they would pay.ReplyCancel

I, too, am glued to my seat with the Casey Anthony case. I have been following it daily from the very beginning. May God bring out the truth and keep that baby in His care.

WONDERFUL Shabby Chic card Becca!!!!!! :) SUPER NICE sentiment!

I think EVERYONE is watching the Casey Anthony case! It DOES break your heart at what has happened to her & the destruction of her family as the truth is being saught! The child IS at peace I believe in our Heavenly Fathers arms! AND believe me, NO GREATER justice can be imposed than that of Our Heavenly Father!!!!!!! What the State plans….. for her OR whoever did this, has NO COMPARISON to what is to come!!!!!!!!!!ReplyCancel

Becca, I have to make a birthday day for a young lady, I love the pink, but I believe my (I hope!) future step granddaughter like purple…still a beautiful color. Your sentiment is…such a life long thought to keep in mind always!

I as well have been watching this sad story. I am glad I am not on the jury. So many ups, downs, ins, outs! May little Caylie fly high with the other darling angels!ReplyCancel

Beautiful card Becca. I agree with you about the Casey Anthony trial, I too have been watching it. I feel no one in the Anthony family has been a voice for little Caylee, I pray that the jury can be. I pray for justice for Caylee. I know she is safe in the arms of Jesus now. ReplyCancel

  • DeniceJuly 3, 2011 - 1:13 pm

As I read these words about the little girl and her death, it reminded me how fragile the sweet innocent children are. I do not know the story as I don’t watch the news, but I will pray for God’s will to be carried out. It is on my heart to pray for the family and or for the one responsible for her death. I pray he or she will turn their life over to God and be saved. Still I believe there are consiqences to our actions and when you do wrong on this earth, I believe you must pay the price according to the laws that govern this land. It saddens me also to realize that this is just one case that happens to be covered and over exploted by the media, there are probably 100 more almost just like it going on now. The little one is home now, no more tears. God bless to all……. DeniceReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
Have not been around for a couple of weeks due to computer issues – finally fixed them by wiping my hard drive. Drastic but nothing else worked. I did manage to save all of my pictures and videos so that was good.
I also developed issues with my blog so I just designed a new one and am officially closing the old one tomorrow. If you ever have time, yeah right :D I would love to have you drop by my new blog sometime…

I missed out on a bunch of things here at your blog…just loved those picture frame pin cushions!
Don’t you just love Serendipity Stamps? Mary has such fabulous ideas…I have spent a small fortune over the years with her and there is no end in site – after all, the one who finishes with the most stamps wins don’t they? LOL
This most recent card of yours is gorgeous! As ususal, thanks so much for sharing your creativity with us!
Hugs and enjoy the rest of your July 4th weekend,

    Hi, Becca,
Found this site by accident… what a happy occasion ! Could you please help me find that source for the DVD clear cases you talked about in June 2009…I haven’t been able to locate them. I admit I’m not too adept at using the web for shopping but this would help me tremendously in organizing my spellbinders and clear stamps. Would truly appreciate the help. Thanks.

children often suffer one way or another at the hands of one or both of their parents. It just makes me weep.
I too pray she will rest in peace. God says he loves the little children so I trust he is holding her close.

I had Key Lime Pie for dessert tonight. Absolutely YUM! I am diabetic and can only do this once in a while. We have found, though, that all the eggs in the Key Lime Pie keeps my blood sugar from going out of bounds. Cheesecake is the same. All the protein in it keeps the sugar from having much effect. Thank heaven! These are two of my favorite things and I don’t have to give them up now that I have diabetes. I hope I am not doing something wrong… I haven’t seen the challenge card today at all and my husband is ready to have me commited because I won’t step away from the computer!!
