Merci

Hi there blog friends, I’m having a lovely creative time even had a card to share that I didn’t get to post last week, so I’m posting it now.  This has to be one of my favorite Waltzingmouse Stamps sets and it makes up for the sweetest thank you card and I just love the Art Nouveau style.  I very rarely make a side folding card but thought I would change things up a bit.

I simply added the stunning border from the Paris Nouveau set and cut it with Spellbinders™ Classic Edges One and ran ribbon up the side with a pearl flourish on top.  For my medallion, the bottom layer is Spellbinders™ Floral Ovals followed by Spellbinders™ Damask Motifs topped wth Spellbinders™ Labels Twenty Five.  Lastly I added the element from Spellbinders™ Twisted Metal Tags and Accents.  I also ran ribbon across the bottom with a matching pearl flourish and a bow.  On top of my bow I used a Bead Landing Filigree element and topped it with a bauble meant for a bracelet.

I guess it would be truthful to say that I have a tinge of spring fever and am loving every minute outside.  It will be hot soon enough so why not indulge, right?  I hope you are having lovely days too and save a couple of minutes to be out in the fresh air.

This is lovely Becca, I never think to layer-up so many different diecuts and yet they always look so great! I really must try to follow your examples more :)ReplyCancel

This is a beautiful card. So soft and gentle looking. The multiple layering of dies, like others have said, just doesn’t come to my mind much either. But, I think I am going to have to try doing this more as the results are always gorgeous. Funny, I think the same thing about having the card fold on the left side….I don’t prefer it that way but now and again it works just right. Thanks for sharing it with us as we absolutely love your designs and tutorials. Ordered the bow maker and can’t wait til it comes to begin making those gorgeous bows!ReplyCancel

Couldn’t sleep so was up at 4 a.m. and saw this. Absolutely exquisite! Love the colors and design. I am gradually adding to my Spellbinder collection, week by week. I need to buy some of the real generic ones like Labels 25 that I notice you use a lot. Your creativity sparks my cardmaking and I always take my ipad with me when I go to a crop so everyone can see the beautiful work you do. God Bless!

Hi, Becca: I have a question re the longer jewel cases–how do you store them? Now that the various dies and stamps are organized, how do you organize and store the cases themselves? Are there CD racks that can hold them or boxes or ? Also, do you keep each set together or if you have butterflies (for example) would you put all of them together in one case. Well, that was more than one question. :-) It is just that it is such a daunting task. Thanks. Love all your beautiful work. Thanks for sharing.ReplyCancel

Oh I forgot to say that I just love the “Supplies I used” ~ so thoughtful and also that your links to “Spellbinder” website to show the numbers of dies used. You make it very easy!

I had to see a close up view of your bow! I haven’t seen that Bead Landing piece at my Michael’s. Very eye-catching! And the card is lovely, as always. I happen to be in South Florida on vacation and am also finding it quite lovely. At this time of year, when I’ve been here in the past, it was already too hot for me! Enjoy it while you can…ReplyCancel

I just got my Waltzingmouse order a few days ago. Just loved this last release and am planning on using it in a tag swap that I am participating in. Love your card this morning. I am starting to get all my new spellbinders too. Still have a few that haven’t arrived but I look forward to them any day now. Finally!!!!!

Where do you find the Recollections Pearls you use. I have tried Michaels in our town but they dont carry the type you use. HelpReplyCancel

  • Dottie DavisMarch 28, 2012 - 5:17 pm

A second comment from me sparked by Pat comment #25. I have looked and looked also for the Recollection embellishments you mention and also the bow ornaments. Michaels here doesn’t have them and I have also googled them but to no avail really. Also, I don’t know how you attach to keep a heavy piece from slipping off the smooth ribbon but sure would be interested in learning how. Thanks again for sharing these delights with us.ReplyCancel

I recently found your website and so very much enjoy the creations you share with us. Thank you! Please let Spellbinders know they have sold a lot of product because of your great work! I have a quick question I think you could answer, maybe even in a in a Becca Bit. I have a lot of trouble getting the paper out of the Spellbinder’s dies without destroying the paper. Do you have any specific tools or procedures to release the paper our of the die? I would appreciate any help you can give. Thanks again.ReplyCancel
