Lost Without You

One truly never understands how much they miss their iPod until they lose it.  I’ve looked high and low for the last month and resigned myself to the fact that someone somewhere in Georgia was probably listening to some great gospel, 80’s music, School House Rock, Yanni, Journey and Rascal Flatts.  Lol, anyone in their right mind would gag and put it down, but it was my beloved ipod, I listened to it every day.  Missing it brought back pictures of Tom Cruise in his airplane during Top Gun after his trusty sidekick Goose met an untimely end.  Tom couldn’t get into his groove without Goose.  I cannot get into my studio groove without my iPod.  HA!!   Until today!  I found it!  I tore my car apart looking for it and when I found it, I did a serious – hope no one was looking – happy dance.  Yeah, my new neighbor I’ve never seen before walked by just at that time.  {Hi! – sheepish wave}.   I’m just sayin’ – it’s been pure bliss in the studio today!  One of the things I finished up was this cleaner and simpler than usual card.  I love the new Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners LG and thought it would make a great base for a smaller sentiment so I used something from Our Daily Bread Designs new releases called Thank You Sentiments.   The sweet butterflies I used are the new Spellbinders™ Les Papillion.  They are so nice because there’s a filigree portion and a great base that can be stencilled.  Hot Pinkalicious, right?

I’ve been using dark colors and piling things on so much lately that a light, clean card is just like that feeling you get right after you get your hair cut, lol!  No worries I’m still working on CHA stuff but I’m having fun while doing it.  Hope you are having a glorious day!!

SUPPLIES I USED
Stamps:  Our Daily Bread Designs – Thank You Sentiments
Paper: American Crafts, Neenah Classic Crest Solar White
Ink: Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Les Papillion, Spellbinders™ Ribbon Banners LG, seam binding, Bazzill Button, button, Want2Scrap Pearls

Sweet friends, thanks so much for stopping by!!

    Hi Becca!
Glad you found your iPod! It looks like it was certainly an inspiration for today’s design. I must like pink because I’m happy to see it again in your design! I sure like these new Spellbinders dies and can’t wait to get my hands on several of them. Would LOVE to have them all but I would have to give up eating to get them and that’s another of my loves (food)! Thanks again for your wonderful designs. You’re an amazing woman.

    Love,
    RheaReplyCancel

Would never have thought to use the small sentiment that way. I guess I thought I HAD to fill the ribbon! Thanks, again, for teaching me something new! It’s a stunning card, as always!ReplyCancel

  • Linda R.June 27, 2012 - 6:41 pm

Don’t you just hate it when you misplace something like that!! Drives me nuts til I find it. There have been countless times when I tore my car apart for one thing or another!! So glad you found it! Love your “simple” card…I think its just beautiful. Great color.ReplyCancel

  • BeverlyJune 27, 2012 - 6:43 pm

Lovely card, as usual. I wish we were neighbors, because I am sure we would be friends! I recently did a happy dance in my driveway (albeit slow and probably painful to watch) when I found the library book that was going to be overdue the next day. I think a neighborhood of happy dancers would be a good thing. :-) BeverlyReplyCancel

  • Kathy SJune 27, 2012 - 7:13 pm

glad your ipod showed up -maybe it was testing to see if it was really needed and decided it was. I have music going when I create too sometimes country, sometime classical sometimes rock and roll and others gospel and then there is the mix of all- and it does influence how I create I am sure. -maybe that’s why you’ve been using the darker colours latelyReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,
I have been looking at all your lovely creations over past days and simply sighing (in pleasure not misery!). You have a truly wonderful talent in how you put together your designs. So inspirational.
Understand EXACTLY about the i-pod – no rhythm no mojo! Music is such a powerful and emotive driver of our feelings and energy. So glad you found your i-pod again.ReplyCancel

  • Rachel NelsonJune 27, 2012 - 7:24 pm

I lost my fave ipod in November when I attended my father’s memorial service. I had been listening to music that he and I both loved, and I think I left it in my car which was unlocked. Like you. it has music on it that I loved and the lucky person who found? it wouldn’t. O well–it was actually harder losing my daddy. Glad you found yours though!ReplyCancel

  • lois skiathitisJune 27, 2012 - 7:29 pm

So very glad that you found your I-pod. Your selection of music is very interesting. I would like to listen to some of your selections. Your card is very pretty Becca. I love the butterfly in all it’s glory. You have embellished just so nicely. Beautiful work Becca. As always Becca, TFS!!! :-DReplyCancel

  • Debbie DeRocherJune 27, 2012 - 7:31 pm

We all know what it’s like to loose something that’s important to us. I had been given my grandfather’s medals from the Spanish American war, and I had them in a frame and put it “in a special place” while my family room was getting painted. So foolishly, on the day my husband was having a kidney transplant (and the dr recommended that I stay home rather than get him agitated before the surgery), I decided to clean my basement. Ok, so now I find the frame. But for the life of me, I don’t remember taking them to the safe deposit for safe keeping. I understand the “dance of joy” because I did it when I went to the bank, and to my surprise, found them. I was hysterical crying when I came out of the room to return my box. Tears of joy. Grandpa was watching over me, that’s for sure!ReplyCancel

  • SheriJune 27, 2012 - 7:34 pm

So happy you found your iPod. I can’t imagine losing mine. In fact I have it backed up so that I have that bit of protection. Had I been your new neighbor I would have said “Good morning, new neighbor. I see you found your iPod. I know that dance!” lol Love your card too!ReplyCancel

Your card is fabulous!!! Love how you’ve colored the edge of the Banner, must learn how to do that.

  • Mary SchmidtJune 27, 2012 - 11:21 pm

Back to an old phrase: ” All’s well that ends well!”
I love the butterfly die, but, the banner looks large. I’ll have to look at that one.
I like the simpler card cause that is more the type that I do. I don’t think of all those layers when I FINALLY come up with a card idea. My cards need help, that’s why I look to you for inspiration. I couldn’t possibly come up with all those die combinations that you come up with. Your cards are breathtaking! I so enjoy seeing your cards. I look forward everyday to see what beauty you have created.ReplyCancel

  • Marzee CarnesJune 27, 2012 - 11:49 pm

Love the card! So, were you just passing through Georgia when you thought you lost the Ipod, or are you from here? (asks a Georgian)…LOL. Glad you found it. I lose everything, and am very thankful my DH is a patient man that thinks that is just a lovable part of who I am. He spends a great deal of time finding my lost items, that I can never seem to find on my own.ReplyCancel

Love the card and can hardly say it is “simple.” Nothing you do girl, is simple ~ stunning is a much better adjective to describe your work. I have been having a ball getting email almost everyday this week from you. I almost finished 3 cards the other night when we met for our weekly “scrap.” So I guess you have been my inspiration this week!!!!!!!
