If Nothing Ever Changed . . .

Hello there, I’m battling internet issues – mine was out all last night a little after midnight and it just came back up.  You never understand how truly dependent you are until it vanishes and you realize that almost everything you do touches the internet.  Well it is indeed a glorious day and I’m glad I have my internet back!!

Today I’m sharing a card that features a sentiment from Quietfire Design.  I’ve been collecting butterflies in preparation for what I wanted to do with the stamp, so when I sat down to create – things went together fairly easily.  I’ll admit, that’s not always the case, but this sentiment called If Nothing Ever Changed, is just begging for a butterfly as a part of the card.

I used a couple of punches and a couple of Spellbinders to create the vertical piece on the card.  I punched out each butterfly at a marked interval, then used a scallop punch for the curved part on both sides of my strip of paper.  I backed up each of those with a Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG.  To balance out the card, I added a scalloped border made using Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite For the sentiment I used Spellbinders™ Labels Eight.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Quietfire Design – If Nothing Ever Changed
Paper:  The Paper Company, K & Company
Ink:  Colorbox Chalk Ink – Dark Moss
Accessories:  Spellbinders™ Standard Circles LG, Spellbinders™ Big Scalloped Borderabilities® Petite, Spellbinders™ Labels Eight, Pearls, Ribbon, button, Martha Stewart Butterfly Punch, EKSucess Scallop Punch

Okey dokey, that’s it for me since I’m scared my internet is gonna go back out.  Have a blessed day friends!

So many questions, so little time, LOL! I absolutely love it, and going to order that sentiment today, it is so beautiful and true!ReplyCancel

    Hi Becca,

My first post, yet I am hear all the time. I came hear from Melstampz, through her cuttle bug links and never stopped. I am curently starting from the very beggining and have to remind myself to look at the curent page to see what is going on.

That is some yummy candy and I don’t want to want it , but I do. I am lucky to live in Philly because each year at this time we have the International Flower Show. This years theme is Passport to the World. In 2007 it was Legends of Ireland, that is the only place that ever gave me wonderlust, ah! someday. But going to the show is beautiful, memerable and a breath of spring just at the right time.

Movie, I Remember Mama, the Inn of the Sixth Happiness, oldies but goodies.
Sorry to go on and on , you are so inspirational and generous.
    Thank you much .ReplyCancel

  • marvelMarch 14, 2010 - 12:09 pm

I’m guessing that the butterfly has been completely punched out and then “implanted” back in the original punched area, attached with some glue and the pearl at the antennae?? The scalloped piece, I think, was done with the EK Success large scallop punch that was not lined up exactly to create a continuous scallop but was, instead, spaced so that the next scallop lined up with the end of the punchable area on the punch itself, instead of right next to the previously punched scallop on the paper?? At least that’s what I came up with when trying to figure out what you did!! :} One thing I think would be helpful is if you could let us know the size of the base card so we could figure out the overall size of the card. Just a thought!! I really enjoy seeing your creations, and look forward to each E-mail from you. God has really blessed you with a creative mind!! TFS with us!!ReplyCancel

    Becca,
You create the most beautiful cards and I enjoy looking for inspiration and ideas on your website; your talent is absolutely AMAZING!!
I love this card and would like to case it and after watching the video, I now know that the butterfly piece is 3 X 7 1/2 but like Marvel and Donna, I would like to know the dimension of the base; where would you find such a long piece of cardstock? From your card recipe, I noticed that the paper you used was from The Paper Company but I can’t find any sheets larger than 12 x 12.
Thank you for sharing your talents with us!!!ReplyCancel
