Happy Mothers Day

Wishing a Happy Mothers Day to all my sweet blog friends!!  I hope you are getting the special treatment today.  I’m off with my family but wanted to peek in here to wish you all the best for the day and tell you how very special you all are!  I’m sharing a card that I worked on earlier in the week but didn’t manage to get finished.   I’ll keep it short and simple because I know you are probably off somewhere with loved ones being treated like a queen!!

Someone recently asked me a question about a lattice card that I made several years ago.  I decided to make a simple version and I liked how easily it all fell into place that I have a couple more on my desk to try this week.  I simply took my seam binding and wrapped four times one way then turned 90 degrees and wrapped another four times.  It lends a lot of interest to the simple, tiny print background I picked.  I then created a frame using Spellbinders™ Labels Fifteen framed out using Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LG and backed it with Spellbinders™ Antique Frame and Accents.  I finished off with a  peg bow and a Scor-Tape flower in the center.  Lace, pearls and two pearl pics are the tiny afterthoughts.  I’ll say this this is another card for my graduation card stash with the optimistic Henry David Thoreau quote from the Our Daily Bread Designs Dreams set — of course it could also be a wedding card or a congrats card too, just sayin’.

SUPPLIES I USED
StampsOur Daily Bread DesignsDreams
Paper: K&Co, Bazzill, Strathmore Acrylic Paper (Card Base)
Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Victorian Velvet Distress Ink (on frame)
Accessories: Spellbinders™ Labels Fifteen, Spellbinders™ Classic Squares LGSpellbinders™ Antique Frame and Accents, seam binding, Peg Bow Maker, Recollections Pearls, Pearl Pics, lace

Eeeek!  I laughed and laughed as I read your comments last night.  Who knew so many people lived in Maine???  Lobsta’ lovers are everywhere!!   {{Big Hugs}} – I’m the fortunate one, to have you as friends!!

BECCA ANOTHER COMMENT FROM FROM YESTERDAY. WHILE VISITING SON IN BATH, MAIN HE PURHASED LOBSTERS AND HAMB URGER FOR
THOSE NOT WANTING LOBSTER. HE COOKED ON THE BACK PURCH AND
WAS RINGING EVERY THING INTO THE HOUSE, HE ACCIDENTLY TIPPED
THE DISH AND ALL HAMBUJRGERS WERE ON THE FLOOR. NOW THEY ARE CALLED ‘RUG BURGERS; IT HAPPENED IN 2000 AND STILL ARE
    CALLED RUGBURGERS.

Hi Becca! Well I am a new card maker, have been ordering lots of things, on pinterest, tutorials etc, and loving your work! Your cards are so beautiful makes me want to learn everything and your blog is the best. Thankyou for all the inspiration, I have had Lyme disease for over 40 yrs. and had to give up quilting, rug hooking, decorative painting embroidery, etc. so cardmaking it is!!! Thankyou and God bless you and your family!!ReplyCancel
