Go Make Beautiful Things Happen

Card Making Ideas by Becca Feeken using JustRite Papercrafts Brush Stokes and Spellbinders - www.amazingpapergrace.com
Good morning friends!  Today is Day 2 of new October releases for JustRite Papercraft!  We challenged ourselves to stretch a little bit and try some techniques with watercolor during this release.  I went with a watercolor background and have to admit that I’m really smitten with the watercolor look – it’s so dreamy.  It’s something I can see pulling out when I want a quick card.  You see this is what happened — I sat down to create one or two backgrounds and came up with about 10.  Pure therapy – just sitting down and swirling the colors around was a breath of fresh air for me.

To make the 5-1/2″ x 7-1/2″ card I mounted the 4-3/4″ x 6-5/8″ stamped and watercolored panel to teal cardstock measuring 5″ x 7″ and then attached both to my card base.  I used Spellbinders Flutters to cut the two layered butterflies and covered the bottom layer with teal and blue glitter.  I finished it off by adding silky thread, sequins, pearls, and a silk bow.

    Good afternoon Becca,
I love this background. There’s nothing better than “playing” with backgrounds and not knowing exactly what will come out.
The card is beautiful, and worth copying.
Thank you so much, God Bless xxReplyCancel

Lovely – you posted a watercolour card on 25th August and I put it on my must try list – it’s now reached the top of the list and is the next to do – never tried this technique before so it could be messy! Hoping they will look as nice as yours do – I’ll let you know how I get on.ReplyCancel

I really like this but don’t think I would get into the watercolor bit, myself. Although like you say it does make for a quick but beautiful card. Of course, the BOW makes it anything but a “quick-looking” card. Love the aqua color, one of my favs.

Beyond beautiful card. Love the sequined butterfly, got to try this. Also I love the way you did the watercolor, leaving part of the white cardstock showing. And your signature bow is also beautiful. You are so very talented.ReplyCancel

These watercolor colors are so dreamy! I am smitten too! Taking a break from traditional cards is really wonderful and pulls out the imagination in a fresh new way. The traditional bow is still there but because the ribbon color is so perfect it enhances but the attention goes to the dreamy watercolor. Just absolutely love it!ReplyCancel
