Every Day Card Set

I had a little bit of time today to stamp and made some every day cards to add to my collection.  So you ask what are everyday cards?  Well so many of our cards are gussied and blinged up and many of mine have big bows and are oversized.  For the most part I save oversized cards and big bow cards for boxed packages that I’m going to send – that way I don’t have to stress about making an envelope or smashing the bow.   So today my cards are regular A2 cards with low profiles that can fit into regular envies.

I’m using a Hero Arts set of four stamps with fabulous line art flowers.  I originally was working toward having all four flowers on one card but it was simply too crowded.  Instead, I decided to do a card for each stamped flower.    Other than a small stacked medallion these are pretty simple cards.  Each image is colored with Copic Markers.

Card Recipe:
Stamps:  Hero Arts – Blossoms, Hero Arts – Sentiments
Paper:  140 lb Strathmore Bristol, Basic Grey – Urban Prairie, Making Memories
Ink:  Memento – Tuxedo Black, Memento – Bamboo Leaves, Colorbox Chalk Ink – Rouge
Accessories:  Spellbinders Labels Three, Spellbinders Classic Squares Small, Spellbinders Classic Scallop Square Small, Spellbinders Standard Circles Small, Spellbinders Tags 5, White Inksentials Pen

Take care my friends and have a thoughtful  Memorial Day.

Do not take this wrong, because I’m such a huge fan of your work and eagerly wait to see the gorgeous creation you’ve made each day. But you know what? These a spectacular! Not ‘everyday’ in any negative way. They are lovely and made with some favorite old standby stamps that many of us still have. The layout is lovely and the colors are so fresh. I love this ‘everyday’ set. It is something even I could perhaps do. You’re the best!ReplyCancel

Becca, I get so much inspiration from you. I’m not really much of a stamper at this point, and I definitely don’t need another new hobby, but I love the thought of making cards.

I also want you to know your work always uplifts me. I love what you do and can only hope that one day my talent will shine as brightly as yours does.ReplyCancel

    Dear Becca,

I just love coming here :) Your cards are so elegant in a class of their own! That is the cutest idea the way you have a bow going through your buttons with a little tag attached, too cute!!!

If it weren’t for your amazing ways of using the Nesties I wouldn’t be buying so many of them – lol – not that I mind tho…. I have finally weakened and also ordered the Wizard Die Cutting Machine as a birthday present to myself. I think the impression will show more than the Cuttlebug does, can’t wait for it to arrive.

Thank you again for always sharing your beautiful cards with us :)

    Hugs

I certainly don’t have the imagination or creativity that you do…thank so much for sharing your gift. I think you should have stock in Spellbinders as your lovely work has made me purchase several of them. I too wish I could afford the Copics, but that’s way down the line :(

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous cards. Becca, I really don’t think you are able to make “everyday” cards. I love the set you chose, and your samples are so lovely with such creativity. What you do with any color combination is absolutely amazing! These cards are why you are a guest designer on so many blogs. Happy Memorial Day to everyone and especially to those who serve in the military to keep us all safe!

Wonderful creations, Becca! I, too, have this set but have never used it effectively. The closest I came was at a recent card-making class when we embossed the image in clear on black cardstock and painted with Twinks. I’m just now starting to ‘collect’ Copics, so these images will be great beginnings. Thanks for the inspiration.ReplyCancel

    Becca,

I love these cards, really everything you do! You said you made them regular A2 size, I guess I haven’t been that observant about the “size” of the cards and thought that most were that size. Could you tell the size of (other) cards, to have an inspirations to go big! I have stayed mainly to the A2 size because I have only had the card bug for about a year now and haven’t branched out in size yet, that “box” thing! Great as always!ReplyCancel

Did you just use the colorless marker to blend down the Baby Blue? I’ve been having a hard time finding a light enough blue for this kind of outline shading.ReplyCancel

  • NeenieMay 26, 2009 - 9:40 am

Wonderful! I’m in need of just this sort of card today – the kind that doesn’t take hours to select paper, layout and “gussying up”. And one that actually fits in the envie w/o extra postage. Thanks a bunch for sharing. I’m not really into Copics so will probably use the watercolor pencils, water and blender.ReplyCancel

Hi Becca, have been peeking at your blog for a while but have always felt intimidated by your talent…..your cards are always amazingly artful and beautiful and the recipient must truly be blessed when receiving one. But I thought I would leave a comment on your ‘every day cards’ – Still intimidating and amazing to me but not quite as much as your ‘blinged’ versions…..love how you coloured them in (I almost want to go out and buy a heap of copics – but cant afford it…lol). You are a true artist!

Just one question though…..you seem to always use the nesties on your cards – can I ask you what machine you use for them? So many lovely comments so mine may get lost :) best regards Tracy from AustraliaReplyCancel
