This Flourishes Friday is all about the crisp and clean winter white – dress it down with a monochromatic theme or dress it up with a sparkly flair. It’s up to you! The only requirement is dressing your favorite Flourishes set in winter white! If you want to play along, simply leave a comment HERE (on the Flourishes blog) or upload your card to Splitcoast using the keyword FFFC02.  Keep in mind, we’ll be doing this fun Friday challenge all month long and there will be a special drawing for those that play all four weeks! Details on what is up for grabs — to come!! If you are just joining us – track back to the first Flourishes Friday challenge on the first Friday of this month. You can make up past challenges to qualify for the giveaway!

My card today is white and gold.  I took one of the elements from the Flourished Elements set – the flourished oval – and stamped it eight times in a circle and embossed.  It created such a pretty pattern in the center that I took my craft knife and made cutouts so that you could see through to the embossed panel below.  I then embellished with pearls, ribbons and the Spellbinders Ribbon Tag Trio and called it a day.

There’s a lot going on at Flourishes this week with three new releases just waiting for you to take a peek!  Curious??  Take a look here at these three new beauties – stop off with the Design Team Members to see what they have created.

Now, take a fabulous blog hop to see the wonderful creations the the other Friends of Flourishes have made for the Festive Flourishes Friday Challenge!

Another winning card. I envy and admire your artistic mind and eye to come up with daring and innovative designs. After viewing your cards all this past year, I’m convinced that you are slated to go on to greater and finer works of art in the future. Don’t know what you have going on in the back burner but these card designs that you keep coming up with are really just the tip of the iceberg of a challenging future in designing. Your cards always leave me excited, inspired, drooling and breathlessly waiting to see what you’ll be presenting next. Next to yours, my cards are in the high school level…..not too surprising since I’m a retired hs art teacher. mercy.ReplyCancel

I absolutely love the Spellbinders Labels One die!!!  Through the miracle of UPS, one came to my door today.  I’ve invested a bit of time into the other die cuts, but this one has always had my heart – I’ma tellin’ ya, it’s a must have!!  I’m in the middle of a million things right now, namely a party on Saturday morning for which I need 14 handmade gifts.  Screech . . . time out!!  I sat down to test this little baby out and made a small 4 x 4 and a matching envelope.  Quite a satisfying feeling since everything else I’m working on is taking a chunk of time.

I have several cards in the works and a little project I hope to have done soon.  Please enjoy your holiday time — I hope you are fortunate to be spending it with loved ones.

I found these stickers at Michaels made out of fun foam and thought they were stinkin’ cute.  Then when I saw Taylored Expression Sketch Challenge #45 and knew I had to try them out.  To showcase this little guy I decided to cut a Spellbinder Frame using Spellbinders Petite Scalloped Ovals  and Spellbinders Classics Ovals Large.

Once the frame was cut, I opened up the stickers and placed them all around.   Also I used the  Spellbinders Classic Scalloped Paisley to cut the slopes on the hill the snowman is standing on.  The stamp inside the frame is by Printworks!

Just in case you’re wondering what the stickers look like – I have a picture here.

I have made two very special New Year’s Resolutions. One, stop using peel offs, get creative and make my own add ons with layers. I love the look of the cards that you make Becca and, especially, the creativity aspect which I think becomes lost when you just stick on anothother stick on!
Resolution two. Spend at least as much time crafting as I do looking at other people’s examples on-line!
Wishing you and your readers a wonderful New Year!
